Character Creation

Discussion for creating characters

I'm leaning towards a military rogue route, maybe a dark elf. Like he was headed to be a sleazy, back alley thug but got shanghai'd into the militia, and now has some honor and pride. He's conflicted about that, wants to do the right thing, but doesn't entirely get what the right thing is.

I'm going to be out of town tomorrow (Saturday), but will get my character created on Sunday. Not sure what type I want to play. I like the Commander class, but there are a few others I haven't played before.

No problem. I'm happy to put together whatever the group needs as an NPC, so go ahead and roll up whatever you'd like to play.

Str 15
Dex 18
Con 12

Wis 11
Cha 17

I submitted my dark elf. He wields two scimitars and has a magical pet (have to make that joke at least once).

The character isn't quite finished, still need to finalize powers and gear, and double check everything.

I'm going for an Aasimar cleric. Am new to the system, so please forgive my inevitable mistakes!

Its cool. Don't worry about it at all. The golden rule is to have fun.

I haven't played 13th Age in awhile, I'll review the rulebook today, no inspiration for a char concept yet.

We can do point buy too if we want right? Anything else to know for char gen or just standard procedure according to the rules?

I'm thinking straightforward human fighter. Any objections anyone?

Hey Phil, any other details you can provide about the adventure we can use for our backstories? What the battle was about, where it took place, armies involved?

Sure, I can put together some back story. Also, if you're more comfortable with point buy go ahead with that, but let me know which one you're doing. Other than that, yes, just go ahead and follow the rules in the book(s).

Cool, my Dwarf Monk is mostly put together I'll have it ready to submit in the next day or two probably. Basic idea; he is a deep-cover agent for the Dwarf King. He was raised from birth to infiltrate the Crusader's demon extermination squads for information and to investigate a possible alliance between the two icons to launch a coordianted attack against the demons. Spending an extended period of time in the Crusader's army has hardened his persona. As one of the Crusader's many challenges he asked my Dwarf to come fight in this battle. He didn't care for which side, just fight and survive.

Also I think his one unique thing is as part of the Crusader's initiation to prove his loyalty he was forced to dismember all 4 of his limbs and replace them with demon arms & legs. He always keeps his hands, arms, feet, and legs 100% covered at all times to hide this.

That sounds good with me as long as the demonic appendages are really just for aesthetics only, and can't create bonuses for the character. Fun idea, and incidentally, that could work well with the plot idea I've got planned out.

I did point buy. I have pretty much all of it done except for the icon relationships. I wasn't able to find a list of the icons; do we just make them up or did I miss something? (I've only been using the SRD)
