Issue with Linking Images

Hi, I'm trying to link an image to a post and it's not working, I've tried linking it as a PNG and JPG from Flickr (all set to public) and also from being hosted in Dropbox and Google Drive with shareable links and none of them load the images.

Image is a 242 KB JPG file

I was going to ask if you had seen the "Guide: Embedding Images into your Post" thread in the Guides section, but when I opened it all of the pictures had disappeared from there too, so there perhaps is some kind of bug.

Seems to work when linking from my web page

@fluglichkeiten, thanks for the heads up. Dropbox recently made a change breaking certian older-type shared links and I forgot to check that page to see if it was affected. I'll go through and correct the images on the how-to doc.

But even without the images, the steps listed on the how-to page should help you with linking your images.

Yeah I followed your guide njohn for getting them on but it's still not loading the images. I know linking from a website works as I've used some stock images in my games before but this is the first time I've tried to link to an image I only had locally so had to upload it somewhere....if it comes to it I'll just try sticking them on the Wordpress blog I've got that's been gatering dust forever and link to them from there but wanted to check if it was a bug or not first

None of the three images you posted above have the URL transformations. Eg, for the Dropbox image drop the ?dl=0 and change the www to dl

Becomes

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/pn2vem1pnnk2mxz/The%20Long%20View.jpg

I'll do more research into how various image share services allow public links, to see if maybe I can transform it on my side.

All the images on the instructions page have been fixed. :D
