Hey Everyone, just a quick note to let you know some changes that I'll be making to how I run combat. I just want you to know that I'm making these changes because I am frustrated with how combat works in play by post and NOT because I have any problems with any of you. Seriously, I love you all and I'm really enjoying this game.
Starting from the next combat, I am going to run 1 combat round every 24(ish!) hours.
If you can't make your post for any reason then do not worry! :)
(Of course if you could give me a heads up if you're gonna be away for a bit then I would really appreciate it but if life just happens to get in the way for a day or three then don't worry at all. These changes should make it easy for all of us).
I have added two new players Madav and CaseAce but I am not going to increase the difficulty of combat. Instead, if you can't take your turn then I will simply skip your turn for a round. You can even roleplay it if you like. Think of it as a moment's hesitation. Do I help Glorendil or attack the dire wolf? Ahh.
Anyway, as long as at least five people post per day during combat then the action economy should be unaffected. If everyone posts then that's just fine. Combat will just seem to be a little easier (which you might need cause these wolves are doing some serious damage!).
I think that these changes will allow me to keep combat dynamic and engaging. I have thought long and hard about this and I've contemplated loads of options but I really believe this is the best option going forward.
