Simush isn't currently mounted. His horse is tied to a tree. But this brought to mind that knight hospitaller in Kingdom of Heaven hiding behind his own horse as he rides across the stream.

Was fully aware, when rolling those attacks, that long range would impose disadvantage. But revised rangers attack with advantage against targets that have not acted yet (DT ruling: but only in their favored terrain). And Simush was hidden. I realize now that you don't stack up advantages and disadvantages to see what the net result is. By RAW, factoring everything in, the shot should have been made normally. In other words, 21 vs. AC.

J, just want to check with you before I roll dice on my next turn; is there any reason Thorn couldn't (or shouldn't) attempt to stabilize Maeriks? I'm not seeing it here, but I could be missing something.

X, I was pretty much going to close out Maeriks during Round 2.

Maeriks has already faced Death Saves once before, within hours, without even a Long Rest between. He carried around 1 Level of Exhaustion during that time, then moved to 3 Levels of Exhaustion now. Taking into account the chase across the flood lands, carrying the bags. Getting shot below max negative HPs again...
And he's an NPC now, doesn't necessarily get a chance for the Death/Life Save routine like PCs...

If Thorn is up for trying to invest in a field medic save, I'll be willing to adjust and throw dice for Maeriks if Thorn wants to oppose with the House Rules.

I'm going to make it hard on Maeriks. Won't show the scores actively round by round, though will write them later. That means I won't expose the WIS Medicine check requirements each round. Will just tell you round by round if he keeps breathing and keeps a pulse.
