Hi Everybody,
I used to do lots of gaming at school, but this is nearly two decades ago now. Life happened and I haven't had the chance to play since. I have missed my gaming days terribly and have been reading bits and bobs over the years. This seems like a good way to get back into it. I have never played by post before so am anxious about ruining somebody elses fun by being a total n00b.
I first started playing DSA in Germany (The Dark Eye around here), dabbled with D&D but always preferred DSA's system and world. Eventually started playing Vampire the Masquerade. After moving to England I played a lots of that, mainly as GM because I enjoyed that as much as playing a character and nobody else ever wanted to do it. Also played a lot of GURPS. Some fantasy settings, GURPS Discworld, a particularly fun post apocalyptic far future homebrew setting (a group of medieval style mercenaries find an ancient phaser rifle but don't know how to use it. Hijinx ensues). I infact prefer the GURPS rules for Vampire but happy to play the original, too.
I have perpetrated my fair share of munchkin crimes in the past. My Star Wars rpg (the old one) character was a dark jedi wearing Mandalorian armour who kept captive wookie children to kill in ever more extravagant ways for darkside points for example. Most of them were relatively well made characters, though and I'd like to think I am older and wiser now, so less likely to act in such awful ways.
I'd probably like to return to Vampire, but not that keen on Requiem. Never played it but I wasn't impressed with the changes from the original. I'd also be up for anything GURPS wise, from low fantasy to high tech and anything in between.
That's about it so, once again, hello everyone.
