You could also hit quote on any post that has the color to see the codes used. That is how I learned a lot of the coding.

Okay, GreyRook, first things first. Are those your stats, as rolled or did you add anything to them? Since you are new and have no experience with any classes, I'd HIGHLY recommend using the UA Ranger and just skipping the PHB class.
There is three different subraces of elves: High Elf, Wood Elf, and Dark Elf. Wood Elf is the more "ranger" orientated one.
As a ranger, starting at 1st level, you get 10+your Con. modifier(which is +1 for you) hp. Your proficiency bonus is +2. Your initiative is your Dex. modifier (which is +3 for you). Being an elf your speed is 30.
Let me know if you want to roll for wealth or use your starting equipment (I'd recommend the latter for your first time).
Look through the PDF I linked then let me know what you need help with.
