Chapter 5: Blingdenstone

Dustin and Bildaweer each send their blasts into the chamber, sailing over the top of the pack of figures. Georges dashes down to stand next to Cemos, swinging at the Red statue. Unfortunately, he misses with each swing!

The Green and Blue statues turn to Heartboiler as she approaches and swings at her. Red, Orange, Purple all swing at Cemos, irritated by his slamming noises.

Heartboiler's attacker all manage to hit her! (22, 21, 18, 20 against AC for 3, 3, 3, and 8 damage before resistance (7 total after resistance).)

The three on Cemos all swing comically poorly, missing with each swing.

Seeing Heart and Cemos struggle against the onslaught, Bildaweer casts magic missiles at the green statue.

Heartboiler grunts, starting to feel bruises where the statues keep hitting her. Also irritated this playtime won't bring them closer to finding the man they're looking for, she grabs the statues in front of her by the heads and smacks them together. She then moves next to Cemos. Although I enjoy smashing up statues perhaps we could use our energy better, shall we go?

Agreed, get behind me! cemos says as he shields his companions, stepping backwards and holding the shield wall.
OOC:
use my action to disengage and step backwards away from the statues trying to absorb as much of the aggro as possible.

As Bildaweer blasts the Green statue with magic missiles, Heartboiler grabs their heads. With the immense strength of the mountainborn, she slams their heads together sending them both to a knee, stunned momentarily. Moving quickly away, they can't even muster the awareness to swing out at her. As the melee combatants cross the entry point of the cave, the statues shudder and then cease moving altogether, freezing in place.

Combat Over.

Dustin tries to think what might be animating these statues he had thought the medusa at first but now she is dead.

Will make appropriate roll to try and puzzle it out.

You do know a little bit about Medusas, specifically that they can turn creatures to stone. Given that these are all Drow, you think that perhaps she was responsible for turning them to stone. However, you aren't really sure what would have animated them, other than maybe that weird force that was turning elementals crazy.
Dec 19, 2017 4:39 pm
"Mentor, do you think the force that was messing with the elementals is responsible here ? For animating these things ? How would we get rid of something like that if it is ?"

I detected necrotic energy emanating from one of the statues but not the others! I’ve prepared dispel magic but it may work on only one of them!
OOC:
I’ve been kind of reserving that if things take a turn for the worse and I’ve only got a few slots left

Cemos walks over to heart and begins tending to her wounds. hold still lass and let me patch up these wounds before they begin to fester.
OOC:
let me know how many hp heart took and ill do lay on hands to patch her up and adjust my character sheet.
were to know? Is there an other pass we haven't explored?

Heartboiler pulls away from Cemos, smiling at him as her rage ends. I appreciate The Beard's help, but I have a trick of my own. It tastes like warm milk with cookies, that old witch who gave it to me after I helped her thought she was being very funny giving it this flavour, but it really does wonders for my health.
She takes a small flask from her bag, formed like a spherical Christmas ornament, a milky white substance in it. She opens the flask and takes a big swig, drinking about a third of the liquid. She makes a very sour face.
Blegh! So sweet and creamy... The best part about this drink is that there's three portions in it, but every morning it's magically filled up again! If anyone else ever needs it, just ask!
After drinking most of HB's injuries have healed, just some bruises and small scrapes remain. She smiles happily, looking around at the stairs and the path they hadn't used yet. Hmm, so it's up, down or straight. I suggest up first, then straight and down last. I hope we don't have to go deeper down, spaces usually get smaller the further down I go.

OOC:
Bildaweer, you strongly suspect the magic would be present in all the statues, however, most were out of range of your detection when you cast it.
In the map below, the green arrow is where you came from (south). There are four passages off this map. 1 and 2 both head up, 3 heads down. The unmarked one goes between the Statue room and the Medusa room. Just let me know which way you'd like to explore.

simply amazing, may i perhaps see some of that mixture heart? Id like to study it for its healing properties. cemos looks and see one small wound still remaining on her.

oh it looks like you missed a spot....ill just.. cemos quickly heals heart knowing we need her at top physical performance and not wanting another frind to go down
OOC:
10 pts via lay on hands for heart. Also if she does give me some of that milk ill put it in a vile and study it later.
bildaweer, dustin did you take any wounds? Georges have your fully healed? cemos says as he scans the party for more injuries.
Dec 21, 2017 3:16 pm
No, but I am exhausted. I must rest soon. Bildaweer says to Cemos as he wipes his brow. He looks back towards the statues thankful that they aren't moving. Where should we go next friends?
Dec 23, 2017 3:43 am
Georges shakes his head. Nay Cemos, I'm whole. he says as he sheathes his blade.

If Heartboiler pours any of the liquid out into Cemos's vial, it strangely doesn't fill the receptacle. Instead, it plainly pours out, disappears, and the volume of the ornamentesque container doesn't deplete.
Dec 24, 2017 1:38 pm
strange!?! cemos says as he looks at his vial, turning it over and back again looking for a hole or a crack.
perhaps it is your container, there is nothing for it now.
Where should we off to? Or perhaps we rest here for a while.
OOC:
I just want to say happy holidays to everybody and I hope you have a safe and joyful New Year!

We could head up the stairs and rest up there. It seemed safe enough when last I was there and there is a mystery you might solve too. a Stone and strange murals.
Dec 29, 2017 3:48 pm
Bildaweer scratches the top of his bald head and says A stone and strange murals you say? I think we should have a look. Cemos?Heart?
