I'm ok with that. Sounds like we won't find our man there, but who knows we can find clues...

You follow Dustin up the stairs. The floor of this cavern is worn smooth, but the walls are rough. A great menhir carved from a stalagmite stands in the center of the chamber, pockmarked with dozens of empty sockets that might once have held gems.

Cemos walks up to the obelisk and runs his hands over the smooth stone. As he makes his way around it he stops to inspect the sockets, looking it up and down as he Strokes his beard inquisitively with his free hand.
hummm yes... yes very interesting.

Cemos, as you inspect the stone, you notice that all of the sockets are definitely meant to hold gemstones of some sort. But they don't appear to be in any kind of an order meant to be visually appealing. There must be some other purpose to these sockets.

very interesting.... Look at this everyone.
You see most intricate stone work of this type is usually ment to be visually pleasing, but this.....this appears to have some other purpose. Perhaps a puzzle of sorts, i canne be sure.

if I still have one of my stones we used to fight the medusa I'll try to put that in a socketJan 5, 2018 1:10 pm
Cemos glances at the shattered piece of crystal in his hand from the medusa fight and quickly recognizes that it will not fit. If you were to find something for this, it would likely be precisely cut to fit these specific sockets.

Bildaweer stumbles around obviously exhausted. He's looking for any gems that might have dislodged or left behind on the cave floor.

Heartboiler sits down against the wall, leaving the investigation up to the others. Her stomach growles angrily after a few seconds. She looks down and then says to no-one in particular I wish we brought along one or more of those spiders we fought this morning, we could roast them over a fire. Would've been good right now!
She then just stares at the weirdly shaped roughness of the walls, mumbling about how some of it sort of looks like the outline of a man if you squint a bit.

You don't see any gems on the floor Bildaweer, just a bunch of small pebbles and general gravel.

perhaps we will find the stone that fits further in. I say we leave this and continue on. cemos starts to make his way toward the unexplored part of the cavern.

Were you wanting to take any kind of rest at this point, or are you pressing on without a rest? Statues dropped no stones.Jan 8, 2018 5:35 pm
Dustin will lean against a wall and get some sleep though he is plagued a bit by nightmares of Stools death.
He gives up on sleeping and simply tries for elven trance.

Bildaweer looks at everyone and says I'm famished. Anyone care for a bite to eat? He then digs for rations to pass out to his friends that are hungry. He sits next to Dustin, eats and then closes his eyes after saying a prayer for Stool as well as Dustin.

Heartboiler gladly takes the food and then looks at Bildaweer and Dustin before focussing on Cemos.
Well, looks like we're staying here for a while. Perhaps I can walk around up here, do some scouting of the area while they sleep? I don't feel tired yet and I don't want to ruin my sleep later...
She finishes her meal and if Cemos agrees walks off back where they came from, turning towards the path between Medusa's chambers and the room filled with statues and heading into new territory.

I heard from a reliable source that Dustin explored the only other exit in this room back to the room we just came from, so that's why this is my choiceLast edited January 9, 2018 8:09 pm

Cemos and Heart head off into the room they were just in, inspecting. Heartboiler looks over to Cemos and into the dark tunnel beyond. She signals back to the two that are resting, indicating that Cemos should guard them while she stealthily checks out the passage beyond.
She strikes off, quietly, moving without a sound down the passage beyond. About ten minutes later, Heartboiler comes bouncing back down the tunnel, a weirdly lumpy bundle in her arms.
