"It snapped fighting the Duergar that robed fellow was asking about" Misha explains, frowning sadly down at the broken blade still in her hand. "It was a gift from my father, so I'm really hoping this Dargren is able to fix the blade even if he can't restore its magic"

The warrior kind of just rolls with the push, letting Heartboiler move her in the right direction. Apparently, Goliaths were a handsy sort of people! She notices the goliath's interest in the blunt weapons, and remembering that some oozes are resistant to different types of damage makes a mental note to pick up a hammer of her own.

Dargren smiles at the two adept looking women as they approach. Welcome warriors, what can Dargren do for you? he says in broken Common.
OOC:
Weapon prices are the same as the player's handbook. 10GP for a maul (2 handed hammer type thing), since that's the likely thing you're considering. If you don't want to RP through it all, he can repair your sword, though he cannot restore the magical power. It will cost you half the cost of a new one (25 gp) and will take two days. If you sweet talk him (persuasion or intimidate, DC20), he'll drop 5 gp off that price. Once everyone is ready to move on, let me know and we'll delve into the great jelly hunt!
Jun 23, 2018 7:43 pm
Heartboiler grins at Dargren, addressing him in undercommon as she takes the maul that speaks to her most in two hands, feeling the weight distribution.
[ +- ] undercommon
She'll pay the man when he mentions the price and then wait for Misha to be ready to go, slowly swinging around her newest possession.

Misha waits for Heartboiler to finish speaking, before placing the jewelled hilt of her broken sword on the table and removing the scabbard from her back. The embossed leather sheath is inlaid with gold and matches the remains of the ancient weapon on the table. She carefully tilts the scabbard over the counter until the fragments of the blade contained within can be gently spilled out onto the hard surface with the soft clatter of metal.

"Everyone says you are the best person to see about fixing this. It was magical, and I understand that you probably will not be able to restore its powers... but even if you can just reforge the blade, I would be greatly in your debt," she tells the gnome craftsman, withdrawing 50gp and offering it to him.
OOC:
If it's just half the purchase price for repair, it would be 50gp, I paid double the normal price from my starting cash to represent it's artistic/material value and quality prior to any magical effects being added.
Once Dargren has agreed to fix the weapon, Misha smiles at him and nods. "Thank you sir, I'll take one of those Mauls as well for the meantime," she tells him, selecting an only slightly smaller weapon than Heartboiler's new toy, and paying the appropriate price.

Cemos quietly waits for them to finish up at the shop.

Bildaweer stands with Cemos waiting patiently.

Misha will check to find out how long it will take for the gnome to repair her hammer than thank him again and turn to the others with an expression of controlled excitement. Ready to strike out against the threat to these good people.

OOC:
The sword will take 2 days to repair and he would still only charge the 25 GP. They like jewels, so he considers the beauty of your weapon to be standard price. :)
Heartboiler gets a new maul. The head appears to be iron done up like a pair of fists facing outward from the center of the weapon, as if every swing was a punch to the target. There are a ring of small rubies in a circle on the sides. The handle is carved zurkhwood with leather wrapped around the handle.

Misha, yours is similar in design, but instead of fists, they formed the head to look like the face of an earth elemental on each side, which makes for a strange appearance indeed. Small sapphires make the eyes of the faces.

With your group now suitably armed, and the still mysterious Rypid with you, what is your plan?
OOC:
I know HypCo has hit a bit of work craziness, hence the unusual slowdown there.

OOC:
let's head to jelly town. I assume there is a place of concentrated jelly sightings attacks.

OOC:
I'm ready to melt some jellies

OOC:
I believe (ok, I asked this) the question here is do we want to follow the oozes to see what's been calling to them like chocolate calls me on a bad day. Or if we rather go check out where those oozes we encountered this morning near the medusa cave came from. Or... Where else can we go to find more about the strange oozefestation?

Anyway, HB will vote for "follow the oozes and then kill them all", because she wants as many as possible collected so she can properly test her new toy

OOC:
Misha doesn't really know enough of what is going on to have a real plan. She's happy to help though and will follow the others where ever they head without complaint. If they discuss all of this IC out in the middle of the street, Misha would suggest dealing with where they are going and then follow the trails back to where they came from, her logic being something as destructive as a Jelly shouldn't be too hard to track

OOC:
We will move this a bit quicker than we have been, apologies for not having you all banter with the guards. :)
Your group, satisfied they are now armed with weapons that can effectively contend with the gooey invaders they seek. Based on Jarlep's instruction to head northwest, back through the trader's grotto where Heartboiler, Cemos, and Bildaweer fought a pair of gelatinous cubes just a few days ago. As you re-enter the chamber, you notice that the deep gnomes have pulled back away from a large adamantine door studded with dozens of glittering spell gems. Diamonds the size of Heartboiler's head, rubies as large as Cemos's fists, and more of the powerful sapphires than Bildaweer has seen in many years. Bildaweer, you remember that ages ago before Blingdenstone was overrun by the drow this was the main door to the House Center, the very seat of government of the entirety of the city.

As you approach the door, the two guards posted nearby move to raise their hands before a quick muttered conversation passes between them.

This is where the jellies and oozes have gone adventurers. It would not be wise to proceed. But if you would prefer to, we will not stop you. one of them says. A look among you and it's clear your intent to proceed is firm. They nod to each other and push a series of stones on the arch near the door. With a creak and a groan, the door glides open about five feet, giving you just enough room to walk through the massive entry.

As you proceed through, the guard speaks quickly. We will leave the door open for you in case you need to evacuate. But if the oozes come this way, we will close off the rest of the city. You will be trapped.

On the other side of the door there is a wide hallway that runs for about thirty feet before it opens into a massive chamber. The only reason you can see anything is the soft glow of lichen in patches along the walls. The ceiling soars nearly 200 feet into the air and the walls of this great cavern are covered in slime — dripping, sickening green slime. Echoes of dripping water also fill the cave, in the center of which is a large spherical structure is held up off the floor by stone pillars. Around these pillars crawl dozens of living oozes, heaving forward while reaching out with grasping pseudopods. The sphere’s surface, like the cave walls, is covered with slime. Black slime swirls with yellow and gray slime in a disgusting soup, the unearthly patterns in the movements of the slime straining your eyes and tugging at your mind. A disembodied voice fills the cave.

What’s this, what’s this? Visitors? Now? Not yet! We’re not ready! Go away, pests! I will call upon thee and all of Blingdenstone to announce our glad tidings of the Faceless Lord to come at the proper time! Begone!

As you look further around the chamber, you see hundreds of various slimes roiling over one another in a toxic sludge. None of them seem to be making any movement towards you - yet.
Jun 29, 2018 4:39 pm
Heartboiler wrings her hand around the handle of her hammer, a slightly crazy look entering her eyes as she observes the jelly blend before them. Yes... This seems like the perfect test-drive for you, Knyttneve! She chuckles, looking around, trying to decide where to start smashing.
OOC:
Someone please stop her before she dives headfirst into the slimes;-)? Pretty please?!
Jun 29, 2018 5:01 pm
Misha looks around at the host of oozes with interest, and mild disgust but no traces of fear. The goliath's words make her chuckle, slightly but the tiny warrior doesn't acknowledge them, instead stepping forward and begining to spin the heavy two-handed hammer back and forth between her hands with casual ease. The weapon was well balanced she had to admit that, even if the detailing of the head was not exactly her style. She prefered a more asture simplicity to her weapons of destruction.

"I apologize... to who ever you are. But your presence here seems to be attracting a great many slimes and jellies to this location, and it is endangering the citizens of this good city. As such, I must ask you to take your leave of this place, or for as certain as I am the daughter of Delethzarith the Wise, I will be forced to make you depart instead... by force if necessary
"

Of course my presence here is attracting them! I'm calling them here! My children and I will summon you all back when it is time! Your puny threats mean nothing to a King! the disembodied voice calls out. As it does so, a good majority of the hundreds of slimes, oozes, and jellies stop their throbbing pulse and seem to turn towards you all, surging ten feet closer towards all of you.

Everyone make a WIS, CHA, or INT save. Your choice which one.

At this point, the mass of moving jellies and such is about 60 feet from you.
