In the time since you have set out you have penetrated deep into the fields of shadowed earth. Once the primary crop belt for Tirisfel it is now a desolate waste, fields followed and desolate of almost all life. Several vales are found in the fields, but these have long coelesced with shadowy energy, and nit is well known amongst the town folk to avoid entering these shodowd dips. Your travels have been quiet but not devoid of interest...

Striking westward the part heads out into blighted fields. The sky broiling blue fire illuminating the way as if it was broad daylight making it difficult to assess the passage of time. The party would have set out of the salt ring late in the afternoon, and after a few hours of travel it becomes clear that nightfall has probs lay already come and gone. The question becomes wether to push on into the night beneath the flaming blue sky or to establish camp.

You should talk among yourselves to decide whether you are camping or pushing through. if you want you can also create a detail about the fields, it should neither be particularly good nor particularly bad, but it's did break the monotony of the journey.Jul 22, 2017 10:29 am
Before deciding on camping or continuing, I will channel my divine sense to get a feel of the area. Using Divine Sense

This place reeks of the undying, the very soil stained with their taint. You can detect the presence of a vale near by the foul odour of its desiccated earth. You can tell that several shades are using this vale for cover, though you would note that every vale you have passed seemed to be similarly occupied.

For the first time in years, Riach feels a strange sense of hope. If this new light can keep the evil of the land at bay, perhaps something more can be done to win back the land. He occasionally scoops up some of the land, to determine if the soil has any potential for use.
"I think we need to look for shelter, we have been traveling long and I doubt we will find a friendly inn nearby. This farmland is long barren, but has some strange signs of life that I do not recognize. I do not think it is a corrupted form of what once was harvested here, but crude life from elsewhere." Riach lets some of the soil slip thought his fingers and blow in the unnatural winds.
"We should take care with our rations, and eat what I can provide as much as possible. We may not find anything edible....ever. "

Lilith says nothing, but knows to trust Riach. She shades her eyes from the unnatural brightness and joins the ranger in scanning the area for a likely spot to take shelter.

Angel turns to her companions, I recommend not sniffing the soil, for it is tainted. We need to stay away from the valleys, as they've been occupied. I say we keep moving.
Jul 24, 2017 11:32 pm
"Perhaps you are right about moving on, I see scant shelter, but perhaps within another hours walk something will manifest. There is something very interesting about the soil though, and information will be one of our best weapons out here. "

@Raich. You lack the divine senses to see that taint in the soil that Evangeline warns you against but your knowledge of soil clearly tells you that the land here is fallow, and the grass here has long died, continuing on despite the fact. As you turn the soil in your hand over in your hand you spot a number of small seeds, of a type you have never seen before. Beneath the burning blue sky they almost seem to glow blue.
The fields are virually featureless, save the dips in which an unnatural fog clings, which Evangeline has warned you against entering. In the distance you can see the faint outline of trees clinging to low hills, but it will take about six hours to reach them.

Evangeline points to the tree line, We should keep moving, and make camp in those hills. The faster, the better. Time is only the least of our worries.

"I agree, that seems to be our only option. We will be sore tired, but we must."

Pushing on into what would have been the night the party sticks to the highlands, avoiding decent into the vales. After another four hours of travel the terrain starts to shift, the ground in the highlands becomes muddied, as if creatures have walked the dead foliage into the ground. This seems strange, nothing should have survived out in this fields with all the shades.
As you walk in the distance a cry breaks the clawing silence, a shrill bloodcurdling scream. Another is then heard further in the distance.

The first cry came from slightly behind you, the second cry was much more distant, but almost on the opposite side of you. You reacogbise the sounds as being goat like, but slightly off...

Keenly aware of his surroundings, Riach readies his crossbow towards where the closer scream originated. "Lets keep moving." he says as he walks backwards toward thier goal.

I'm right with ya. Angel says, Keep your weapons at the ready. she draws her sword and adjusts her grip on her shield.
Aug 3, 2017 9:19 pm
As you press on weapons ready there are further screams, you find it chilling how almost human like the cries are. About five minutes after you heard the first call 4 grotesque humanoids emerge from a fog bank, humanoid torsos coated on ill kept grey fur, cloven hooves, sharpened claws and with heads of goats. None of you have seen creatures such as these before. Though they are not clothed nor do they carry obvious tools of any kind, the way they are adorned with the bo es of there kin as decoration suggests that these are sentient creatures. A slightly larger one utters a blood curdling cry and leads the charge towards you.
