Iolgur looks around the cite, carefully inspecting trees from all sides. If goblins could reach their camp at night, maybe they left some marks, like hunters do.
OOC:
Rolling perception just in case.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+3)

(8) + 3 = 11

Xed sees many interesting birds, but is very confident there are no goblins in sight. Just as Chanler recalls a nearby cave that many travelers have used for shelter, Iolgur notes a trail of blood leading off in the same direction.

"I've never seen so many beautiful birds before! Today is my lucky day!"
Oct 19, 2017 8:08 am
Pointing in the direction of the blood trail, Iolgur asks Chanler: "Say, do you know what's there? Any place to hide?"

"Let's check it out, anyway," says Qavez, heading after the trail.
Oct 19, 2017 9:21 pm
Chanler begins following Qavez. "I have heard about a cave out here. The patrons of the Nightstone will sometimes head out this way if they can't afford a room for the night. I've never seen the cave myself, however."

Aestan is maintaining a ready stance. It's not uncommon for these situations to go sour and he knows just as well as the next guy to keep a steady hand.

"Do you really think some unknown cave full of goblins is a good place to go? I suggest somebody scout ahead, count the numbers we are against, what they do here and how. I can go, but not alone."

"Ooh me!! I’ll go!" Xed excitedly runs back towards Iolgur, turning her attention away from the birds.
Oct 20, 2017 12:30 pm
Iolgur nods to Xed: "Good."
To others he says: "We go light. I leave most of my stuff with you. We'll follow the blood trail to scout ahead, probably as far as the cave entrance, and return. If we get in trouble, I'll shout on top of my lungs."
With that, Iolgur carefully lays his backpack, his crossbow and his longsword near a tree and starts to doff his armour.
OOC:
By the way, do we roll stealth like all other skills, or is it a secret roll?

"I don’t got much- I always travel light!"

OOC:
It's up the DM, but in the games I've played ability checks are usually rolled in the open. The only times I've seen secret rolls are when the DM needs to make one for something the players shouldn't see (like random encounters or such), or when the player is asked by the DM to make one.
Qavez nods, leaving the equipment with the inn's waitstaff.
Oct 20, 2017 4:35 pm
"I'll stay here then." Chanler says, beginning to crouch by where Iolgur had stripped of his armor.

OOC:
ok then, time to see how clumsy a dwarf can be...

Rolls

Stealth - (1d20+4)

(12) + 4 = 16

Qavez nocks an arrow, looking over Iolgur's approach on overwatch.
Oct 20, 2017 8:02 pm
Xed follows quickly and quietly, directly behind Iolgur like a shadow.
OOC:
Apparently, she BECOMES his shadow, she’s that good!

"Gods kick in a sack," Qavez whistles as the halfling disappears. "Blink and you miss it, eh?"

The trail isn't particularly hard to follow; an unfortunate amount of blood was spilled along the way and whatever took the old man wasn't being careful to hide its passage. After traveling through the woods for a short while, the dwarf and his shadow encounter a more well-trodden path.

Just so. Please make all your rolls openly unless I ask you to do otherwise.

OOC:
actually, I was taking about DM doing a secret roll, not us :)
