The man scoffs at Qavez' suggestion and ignores Xed's question, "We'll stay mounted, thanks. Bring her out, or a few broken-down houses will be the least of your worries."
Qavez nods. "Right, right," he says to the implied threat. "Well, we are law-abiding citizens here, don't you fret. It's just, uh... well, your outfit's not that recognizable, so I'm going to need some identification or something that states your affiliation."
Xalvador stares at the figure for a long few moments "Well we have not heard of this person you are looking for, perhaps a description would help? I would say however that I agree with my friend here, no one is going anywhere with you unless you can prove what authority you have here". As he talks he reaches for the plate before blinking as he realises it's empty.
marithyme posted in the absences thread that they've been having some computer issues and their husband is away for the next few weeks so they won't be posting until February at the earliest so best to consider this game on hold for now
A woman emerges from the inn behind you and calls out, "Stand down...I will come peacefully." Turning, you see a woman in her mid-thirties, with brown hair curling down to her shoulders. Her emotion as she looks at the riders seems odd, somehow, and the man's face lights up when he sees her. She walks confidently toward the riders.
OOC:
Thanks, mcneils5! I'm back and slowly catching up.
The woman smiles flirtatiously at Xalvador and replies, "Oh no, I'll be fine. I'm sure they'll treat me well, right fellows?" The man in the lead glowers but the rest nod respectively and murmur, "Yes, Mam."
The woman just smiles as she reaches an arm toward the lead rider. He hauls her onto the horse behind him and with one final scowl at all of you, they thunder out of town.
Xalvador watches them go with a concerned look on his face before turning to the others "Well that was....odd. What did you all think of it? She didn’t seem to have any real trepidation over leaving with them"
"It was probably all an act," says Qavez. "Though why the deception, I don't know. Maybe there was magic involved. Still, it is pretty clear that whoever those folk were, they're used to having power and they don't look kindly upon others."
