While appearing to be made of clouds, the stairs are firm underfoot, akin to the springy nature of turf. Xalvador is certain magic is involved, but cannot see the source.

Qavez continues up the stairs. He looks for the expected door, but keeps his eye out for anything that might be observing them.

After the others start working their way up the 'stairs' and do not fall through Xalvador very carefully starts following them
Sep 29, 2019 11:07 pm
Other than some curious birds, Qavez does not see anything observing them.
Oct 6, 2019 5:32 pm
Qavez looks for a door, but even if he does not find one, he at least finds somewhere to knock. "Hello?" he calls out.
Oct 8, 2019 3:07 pm
"Hello, I’m here!"
Oct 14, 2019 2:33 pm
You stand before a strange tower, with a single large door at the top of the stairs. At Qavez' knock, the door creaks open. From inside a voice replies to Xed, "Well, yes, I know. That is, I'm glad. Do come in." There is a small pause. "Through the door, preferably."
Oct 14, 2019 3:03 pm
"Is there another way in?" Xed follows the sound of the voice.
Oct 14, 2019 4:13 pm
Qavez follows Xed as he steps across the threshold. "Pardon my intrusion," he says. "Hope this isn't a bad time?"
Oct 20, 2019 9:57 pm
Floating down from above comes a massive figure, which only grows larger as it approaches the floor you stand upon. With gray skin and a wispy white beard, he towers more than twice your high, but beams down at your group with a beatific smile. "Bad? No, it's completely terrible. Which is why I'm so happy to see you," he responds, still smiling broadly.
Oct 21, 2019 12:59 am
"You're very, very tall. Why is it terrible? Did you run out of sugar for your tea?"
Oct 21, 2019 8:20 am
Xalvador stares up at the figure, somewhat nervously tapping his foot on the 'floor' to make sure it stays solid. "Well I'm assuming you had some interest in, erm, inviting us into your....home is it?" he says to the figure before shaking himself "Forgive me, where are my manners. I am known as Xalvador".
Oct 21, 2019 5:14 pm
"And I'm Qavez," he adds, watching the giant figure float down.
Oct 22, 2019 3:26 am
"Oh, I’m Xed. Hi!"
Nov 3, 2019 2:14 pm
With each name he looks more and more delighted. "Oh my! So they were right. You are the ones. And you have come here, to me, just as they predicted. How delightful!" He lowers himself slowly so that he is seated crosslegged on the floor in front of you. "Well then, I was told to help you, if any of us are to save the Ordning. So...how can I be of service?"
Nov 4, 2019 10:50 am
"Erm, ok." Xalvador asks fairly confused.
OOC:
What do we know about the Ordning? Throwing a History check out there if needed

"I'm sure we appreciate the help," says Qavez. "Except... uh, are you helping us find the Lady's family, do some research, or getting someone's inheritance back to their next of kin?"
Nov 18, 2019 10:47 pm
Xalvador is confident that he knows nothing about the Ordning.

The giant responds with surprise, "What an excellent question!". He strokes his chin thoughtfully for a moment, then adds, "Perhaps you should tell me more, and we will figure it out together. Like Garabilis at the Stony Fields.". He smiles and waits for the flash of recognition, and looks disappointed when it never comes.
Nov 19, 2019 12:05 am
"Right. Okay," says Qavez, buying time in his response while he looks to the party for guidance as to whether or not they should reveal their mission(s).

Xalvador nods to Quavez that he should proceed
