Ye be right about that, madmen and hollows are all who fight on this fields now. I set up here for the ready supplies offered by this place. As for who I arm, why undead such as yourself, who perhaps have been chosen to try and sate the Firekeep, those who try their hand at taking the the very gods lineage for their own.

"Are you saying he who conquers the Firekeep attains godhood? Interesting. What can you tell me of the keep's defenses?"
Apr 11, 2018 10:13 pm
The gates are guarded be a hollowed knight from a distant land, the doors to the keep proper Though is its strongest defence, it will only open for a soul of sufficient strength to seek the god’s heritage

"Such strength as I do not yet possess. I am as newborn in this place. But I will remedy that. What can you forge for me to aid in my quest for power? An enchanted blade? A suit of impenetrable armor? And what do you require as payment?"

This old smelter is lacking the divine spark of fire I once worked with, but unless you desire more wonderous creations that won't be an issue, and if you have some titanite on you I can work that into your weapon or armour to reinforce them. Otherwise I can make anything you need. Souls are what I need in exchange for my goods. The smith takes out a blue flask This might help too, Ivan transfer some of the fire from your estus flask into this ashen flask which will refresh your focus instead of your vigour.

What does this mean in game terms?

OOC:
Instead of healing you can sacrifice a fixed number of hit die to be able to refresh a short rest power or regain 2 spell slots. Drinking from an Ashen flask takes a bonus action. The process is reversible but you have to go to the blacksmith to do it.

Interesting. Ok, will keep that in mind. Maybe it should be added to this post? Thanks!
"I will return when I have need. Until then, farewell." I spur Phrixos on without any clear direction, pondering my situation. I may be damned for eternity but even this place cannot stay my thirst for power. But Firekeep must wait. I must strengthen myself and raise an army. There are resources here, it seems. But where to now? I scan my surroundings for a clue.

Done, that’s a good call!
The battlefield is a chaotic broiling mess of small combats. As one dies down, the victors scattering without foes to fight others start as the mindless dead rise from the mud of the battlefield. There are few corpses other then those engaged in the melees as fallen corpses swiftly turn to ash. There are some resources to be claimed but not without facing combatants. Perhaps the other paths will lead to easier pickings? Or you could forge your way across the battlefield to try and take the gate, though you spot some large ballista on the walls that occasionally pick of undead who stray too close to the wall.

A siege engine or two of my own would help win the gate. All in good time. For now I will explore this place further. I guide Phrixos down one of the paths.

As I wander I brood on the passage of time in this place. Do the sands of time flow the same here as it does in the land of the living? Or does an eternity pass in the mortal realm with each grain of sand fallen in an hourglass here? I shrug. It matters not. Such useless musings will gain me nothing. I must set my will to the task at hand.

Subtle I like it...
On a whim you take Phryxos down the cliff path. The road is tight to the face of the cliff, below a desert of swirling sand and ash spreads our to the distance. Around a bend you spot the paths destination, a squat village presses against the mountain wall. Before you arrive at the village though, a large creature slumbers across your path, blocking your way.

What does it look like? Is it acting aggressively/hostile?
Jun 1, 2018 10:23 pm
The large creature that sleeps over the path probably stands twice your height, and is heavy with flesh. It’s body has rubber scales. And you spot sharp claws and teeth but otherwise cannot tell if it will be friendly or hostile when disturbed.

"Ho there!" I bellow at the creature. "Hear me! Awake!"
OOC:
The moment it wakes, Channel Divinity: Control Undead. Everything's undead 'round here, right? If not, would I be able to tell whether a creature is undead or not? Maybe with a use of my Divine Sense?
