For future reference during this fight, I have Dampen Elements:
Quote:
When I or a creature within 30ft takes acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage, I can use my reaction to grant resistance against that instance of damage.

"Fjorgyn! Reveal this practictioner of false magics, such that we may apply your judgement unto him!"

Cast Dispell Magic, which I believe can target an invisible opponent and end the spell if relevant (cite).

Quote:
Choose one creature, object, or magical effect within range. Any spell of 3rd level or lower on the target ends. For each spell of 4th level or higher on the target, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a successful check, the spell ends.

You are going to need to make that ability check.

WIS check
edit: goddamnit (literally)

Rolls

Wisdom check - (1d20+3)

(2) + 3 = 5

"He's spry," Domarc says. He moves away from the group, trying to make sure we are dispersed and not clumped up as an easy target for anything with area effect. On the way, he will cast Invisibility on Mordred.

Bonus action - Inspiration to Mordred - 1d8 can be added to any attack roll, ability check, or saving throw in the next ten minutes.

Fjorgyn delivers yet again!

There is some clamor in the pen, goats running back and forth, and Felor is unsure where exactly to direct the ire of his goddess.

Mordred, you're up.
Sep 29, 2017 5:41 pm
Welp.

Mordred takes advantage of Domarc's spell to move up to the hut and crouch just around the corner from the goat pen, waiting for the opportunity to strike.

Ready a shortbow Sneak Attack, but only if Wet Beng becomes visible.

EDIT: WTF kind of damage is that I ask you. There is clearly something wrong with the d6 simulator.

OOC:
I feel the dice have judged us...and found us wanting
Sep 29, 2017 6:38 pm
OOC:
This is what we get for trying to murder strange old men
Sep 29, 2017 6:42 pm
OOC:
Strange old witch-men, to be fair.
Sep 29, 2017 7:15 pm
I mean he was nice to you and you tried to murder him because of his body art.

Mordred goes to lie in wait. The goats quiet down. There is no sign of Wet Beng.

Zangua and Leth, you're up.
Sep 30, 2017 12:45 am
Leth quickly moves towards the goat pen and begins frantically scanning the surrounding area for any hints of where Beng is or had gone.
OOC:
I'm actually going to get to use my favored enemy. Incredible.

Also I think Felor needs to find a new god. Fjorgyn has a pretty dependable track record of inaction!

Rolls

Tracking (survival, advantage) - (1d20+6)

(10) + 6 = 16

Tracking (survival, advantage) - (1d20+6)

(19) + 6 = 25

I have actually developed a canon story explanation for why Fjorgyn is hanging Felor out to dry so often.

Leth sees some flattened grass stalks on the far side of the pen and realizes that Wet Beng must have gone out that way.

Zangua, you're up.

OOC:
My canon is that she's the mountain goddess and thus above most petty human concerns because what can threaten a mountain?
Sep 30, 2017 11:14 pm
Zangua swings a wide arc, aiming for the wizard’s last appearance and hoping something connects. He tries to extend his senses to catch a step or rustle of clothes, or even a scent.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+6)

(11) + 6 = 17

Glaive vs Wet Beng, Disadvantage, Slashing Damage - (1d20+7, 1d20+7, 1d10+4)

1d20+7 : (18) + 7 = 25

1d20+7 : (16) + 7 = 23

1d10+4 : (5) + 4 = 9

Extra Attack, Disadvantage - (1d20+7, 1d20+7, 1d10+4)

1d20+7 : (8) + 7 = 15

1d20+7 : (14) + 7 = 21

1d10+4 : (4) + 4 = 8

Bonus Attack, Disadvantage - (1d20+7, 1d20+7, 1d4+4)

1d20+7 : (1) + 7 = 8

1d20+7 : (18) + 7 = 25

1d4+4 : (1) + 4 = 5

The goats give Zangua a wide berth as he steps into the pen and starts swinging. Nothing connects, but he hears a scraping sound in the back of the hut.

Domarc, Felor, Mordred, you're up.
Oct 2, 2017 4:38 pm
Seeing that Wet Beng does not appear to be aggressive, Mordred thinks the time has come to escape. He casts a Fire Bolt at some dry grasses that are far enough from the hut to not immediately immolate the innocent goats and chickens, but close enough that Wet Beng will have to pay attention to the flames rather than the party. Once visible again, Mordred makes a silent gesture to the whole party:

Let's get to the horses and go!

He runs for the horses.
Quote:
Fire Bolt

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: 120 feet

Components: V, S

Duration: Instantaneous

You hurl a mote of fire at a creature or object within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 fire damage. A flammable object hit by this spell ignites if it isn’t being worn or carried. This spell’s damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 5th level (2d10), 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).

Rolls

Fire Bolt the grass - (1d20+4, 2d10)

1d20+4 : (6) + 4 = 10

2d10 : (51) = 6

Oct 2, 2017 4:50 pm
Domarc holds position with his crossbow out, intending to give cover for the group should Wet Beng reappear; if he does, Domarc will fire.

Rolls

Hand Crossbow attack - (1d20+6)

(13) + 6 = 19

Damage - (1d6+3)

(2) + 3 = 5

Oct 3, 2017 12:16 pm
Felor looks around nervously trying to spot any sign of the wizard, before seeing Mordred gesture to the horse and following him at pace. "Bloody wizards! Bloody Six-Pointed Crown bastards!" he mutters to himself.

Moving to get on my horse, using a Dash if necessary.

Mordred's mote of fire sizzles and smokes in the damp grasses near the hut.

Felor and Mordred are bravely getting back on their horses and getting the hell out of here. Are the rest of you doing so as well?
Oct 3, 2017 8:30 pm
Not wanting to be left behind, and cursing their bad luck, Leth turns around to withdraw with the rest of the group.

"I don't think that could have gone much worse!"
