Are you open about being here on Empire business, or have you been keeping that little fact to yourself?

I am a proud citizen of the Empire and I have nothing to hide. All the rumors of the Empire's evil deeds are simply untruths put out by its enemy. The Empire is a beacon of civlization and light in an otherwise dangerous world.

Are the Fernandez family a noble house, or are you here strictly on military assignment?

I am indeed the third son in a minor noble house. With little chance of inheriting I have joined with the Empire hoping to win land and titles.

How has your heirloom sword saved your life before?
I won the Empress' Tournament last year, defeating Vincio Edmundo, the prior champion. On the way to the Noodle we were waylaid by simple brigands. Other than this I am afraid to say I have seen little real action.

Who do you know at The Noodle?
Except my fellow soldiers, I have gotten to know a local smith named Hadar. His skill is unrivaled, and how he has ended up making arms in the middle of nowhere when he could be making a lot more making swords in the capital I haven't gotten him to tell me.

Bonds:
Macximilien owes me their life, whether they admit it or not.
Florian is soft, but I will make them hard like me.

Q: How did you find and train Beast? Since they're terrifying, what do you do about them when you're in civilized places? How did you make your living before coming to the Reach?

A: Beast was my quarry. The local townsfolk paid me to take care of the "savage beast" that was slaughtering their livestock. I tracked and observed her movements over the course of several days, and realized that the townspeople saw savagery in a creature they didn't understand. She was wounded and starving, little more than a cub. She was only capable of taking what easy meals she could. Instead of killing her, I adopted her and raised her as my own. We avoid civilized places as much as possible, but when I have business in town she hides near enough so I can call her if there's trouble.

Q: What are the rest of the elves like, and why are they avoiding the forests in the Reach?
A: Elven society is made up of about 12 roving clans. Knowledge is paramount in their culture and they don't tend to get involved in the politics of other kingdoms, preferring to remain neutral in conflicts they are not directly involved in. The forests in the Reach have been known to lure travelers in, siphoning their energy for some unknown dark purpose. As such, the elves know well enough to avoid the area.

Possible Bonds:
I have guided Florian before and they owe me for it.
Tezoc is a friend of nature, so I will be their friend as well.
Lucas has no respect for nature, so I have no respect for them.
Max does not understand life in the wild, so I will teach them.

Have you spent much time amongst the weird Rydian folk in Camptown aside from these adventurers?

Tezoc the Wild has not, and what little we have seen puzzles us.

What are the tenets of your God, and why are they going to prove a problem amongst these so called civilised folk?

Tezoc the Divine worships no god! We feast on the world! We take what we want!
Bonds:

Maximilien is puny and foolish, but amusing to me.

Lucas' ways are strange and confusing.

Florian is always getting into trouble. I must protect him from himself.

Xadra shares my hunger for glory; the earth will tremble at our passing!

That's officially us done for worldbuilding and character creation!
I'm sure I'll be asking some followups to my followups, but I will be writing up a first session intro and getting some kind of adventure prepped for this sometime today or tomorrow

In the meantime... the Royal Cartographers and Esteemed Mapmakers' Society of the Rydian Empire wishes to make it known that recent and woefully inadequate totally accurate maps of the area reflecting recent events and information are available for prospecting treasure hunters at a vastly inflated fair and reasonable price
