The large humanoid will scribble with calk on a blackboard hung around his neck then slap it loudly for attention.
Quote:
I am Ryjo, humble monk. I do require healing, could you spare it by way of channelling positive energy or if you have a healing potion you can spare. If not, then I'll simply sleep it off.
The young woman, while looking for her missed crossbow bolt will then say.

"I am Ireena Kolyana, daughter of the former Burgomaster of Barovia, sister of the current Burgomaster, and local to this valley. Well met traveller and thank you for your help. Most people tend to avoid poor cursed Barovia, but we've had an influx of travellers lately..."

Then, finally finding her bolt broken, she sighs in disappointment...

The pale man trying to calm the mule then chimes in.

"I am Weiryn, servant of Pharasma, the Lady of the Graves and also member of the Lightbringers. Suffer no false life stranger... Hmm, also does anyone who's better than I am with animals can help me calm down this damn mule?"

"Darren Silversmith," a heavily armored cleric introduces himself with a bow.
Nov 17, 2018 1:01 am
OOC:
Oh, I forgot about Durgrim.
A dwarf is also there.

"I am Durgrim, paladin of Torag, also member of the Lightbringers. Thanks for ye help there traveller."

Roland will go over and deal with his mule.

Nov 17, 2018 1:57 am
Roland manages to calm his mule.
Nov 17, 2018 6:39 pm
Weiryn will continue.

"Ah, thank you brother Roland, this mule is rather... stubborn. Perhaps we should continue this discussion in the underground complex? away from prying eyes and ears... This Strahd seem to have many agents, who knows what else might be observing us... Adrith was it? Please, follow us, and mind your footing..."
Nov 19, 2018 4:34 pm
"Sounds like a plan to me. What agents are you worried about, and who is this Strahd? But I digress, let us find a safe place to speak. And Ryjo, let me lend a hand to your wounds. Walking over, Adrith will Lay on Hands the large man.
OOC:
Down to 6 uses for the day

Rolls

Lay on Hands - (4d6)

(5624) = 17

OOC:
You didn't mention anything about xp during my character creation so I assumed I started at the base xp for level 6.
"It seems I am late to introduce myself. I am Heather, cleric of Sarenrae. Does anyone else need healing?"
Nov 20, 2018 12:09 am
Ryjo will take a step back before Adrith can heal him, put a hand up, and then write on his blackboard and then slap on his board to signal he's done scribbling.
Quote:
As I said previously, I cannot allow people to touch me due to vows I have taken. It's a long story, but let's just say I have a lot I need to atone for... I will gladly accept any other form of healing you can provide, however.
Ireena looks like she wants to talk more, as if she needs to get something off her chest, but Weiryn making his way towards the tower and signalling the party to follow him stops her. Before turning to you, he stops and shudders a bit.

"Bugh... Is it me or is it cold suddenly... Well, as I was saying, all will be answered once we're away from prying eyes and ears."
OOC:
@ Shanata: Hmm, okay. start of 6th level it is then. Well, you should have plenty of opportunity to level up. :D
Nov 20, 2018 12:20 am
Apologies Ryjo, I was not aware of your vows. Unfortunately, I was not expecting to meet others, so any of my effective healing would violate that vow. Though I believe Heather might be more equipped than I, being a cleric, to assist. To a lesser degree, I can channel a burst of healing energy.

Noting that it appears as Ireena would speak more, Adrith follows the group out of the open area.
OOC:
LoH back to 7 uses for the day. If Heather is able/willing to Channel to heal, will let her (she knows the people). If not, or a top off is needed, I will use a Channel.

OOC:
Hmm, I just noticed Ireena will have a level up to make once you guys complete your rest.
The party enters the old crumbling tower, taking a spiral staircase to the tower's sub level. The staircase opens on a large corridor of ancient stone, a lever is in the northern wall about 10 feet from the staircase. Most of the corridor's ground seem to have been melted by incredible temperatures and turned into an uneven mess of jagged obsidian. Compared to the wear on the rest of the corridor, this seem quite recent. Carefully navigating the patch of obsidian, the group make its way int a large chamber with another stone door set in the norther wall. There is a glowing circle in the south-western corner inscribed with glowing runes.

Once in the room, Weiryn turns to you all.

"Ah, I believe we can speak safely here."
Nov 20, 2018 2:45 am
Veroth returns to the stone door. "Recall there is something on the other side. Remain vigilant." He examines the door for signs that it may have opened while unattended.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+11)

(7) + 11 = 18

Nov 20, 2018 3:25 am
Veroth checks the door and it does not look like it has opened in the meantime. Still you remember that with the melted lock, it will probably be difficult to open that door...
Nov 20, 2018 4:03 am
Difficult but not impossible. I got explosives. Just saying.
Nov 20, 2018 12:38 pm
"Ryjo, I can heal you without touching you. Does anyone else need healing? Come close if you'd like some positive energy."
OOC:
Anyone need more?

Darren looks physically fine, but he's slightly pale and a bit wobbly on his feet. Sitting down, Darren looks to Adrith, "You said you were here to investigate? Investigate what, exactly?"
Nov 20, 2018 2:54 pm
Veroth waves off the offer of healing and listens for Adrith's reply with curiosity, and some concern.
Nov 20, 2018 3:31 pm
Roland makes sure he is close enough to get the healing, which puts him back to full health.
Nov 20, 2018 4:28 pm
"A prophecy from a trusted source sent me to investigate. It was a vision of darkness, wrongs to be made right, and evil born of the treason and night. The clues led me here, and I heard the sounds of battle from my path and rushed to help as best I could. After a moment of thought, he decides to extend a measure of trust. After all, the prophecy had mentioned heroes in trouble.

"'Ancient evil born of the treason and night. Seeks to consume the land with undead blight. In the valley of mist wrong must be set right. Fight with symbol of good and sword of light. Heroes in trouble will lend you their might. Deep in the consuming mountains, hear my plight.' This is the prophecy as it was told to me. You all seem to be seeking something yourselves, and the nature of the divine being what it is, I wonder if we seek the same goals?"
Nov 20, 2018 4:45 pm
Weiryn listens to the prophecy and ponders it for a moment.

"It does sound like it... I wonder if the symbol of good and the weapon of light are not the artefacts we seek... The Holy Symbol of Ravenkind we already found and gave to Heather over here. This is probably the symbol of good. We came here, to this ruin, seeking the Sunsword which a wise woman with the gift of vision told us would be here, somewhere beyond this locked stone door. This is probably the weapon of light. As for the first part of your prophecy, we do know that Strahd seems to be an ancient and powerful vampire... but I do not know anything about treason, but still, this might fit in. As for the undead blight, we did faced an infestation of surprisingly resilient zombies when wee entered the village. We destroyed the immediate source in the church in Barovia, but the real source seems to be Strahd. Again, informations we gleaned from the wise woman. Yes, so far the prophecy seems to fit. It would indeed seem we have similar goals..."
