Out-Of-Character (OOC) Discussion

No worries! I've been there myself and it sucks. :(

Some news concerning my data recovery. The guy I gave my external HD to has already started recovering files. He thinks it should be done during the weekend, which means I'll be getting back my HD next monday. Now, the files will not be sorted or have their original names, so I'll have a lot of work going through them and sorting them out in the next couple of weeks. But hopefully, in about 2 or 3 weeks, I should get ready to resume this game.

And once this is done, I'm backing my shit up on google docs. XD

A bit of bad news. While the whole recuperating my old deleted files is going well, what me and my guy forgot is storage... I have over 1 tb of files, so I'll need to come up with some solution soon... This might add a few weeks to my previously mentioned plans.

only gamey bits that you need to access frequently on the cloud storage?

Some worst news. The external HD I was thinking of using to hold the data while the recovering was going on is pretty much dead, so I need to buy a new one. I can put it on my credit card to give me a chance to pay for it, but it's going to push back my data recovery by still a few more weeks...

Sorry, but seems like everything that could go wrong is actually going wrong here...

Finally some good news.

the other guy who'm I've asked to retrieve my data from my external HD has managed to successfully retrieve it. The data is being transferred to my new HD as we speak and should end at some point tomorrow. Then it will only be a matter to get my HDs back from him and start the long process of reorganizing my shit. It might take some more time, but at least I'm seeing progress after nearly 5 months...

I erased my stuff in July, so yeah...

OH wowowow, I doesn't feel like 5 months...

Got another word of the guy working to retrieve my data. He decided to be a perfectionist and have another go at my HD just to make sure he retrieve everything and no data got corrupted. If everything goes well, I should get my HD back later this week.

Hopefully we can start up again. If not, maybe another adventure in the world of Caera? I wouldn't mind rolling up a new character and giving that a try. :)

I'm afraid I have some bad news. As I was transferring my data yesterday, I had a look at it, and it seems I have no .odt or .txt files. I talked to my friend and the only files format he failed to recuperate were those two. My campaign notes were using those formats. So I'm afraid this game is gone.

I'm sorry for everyone who played this game. But it looks like that's it.

Congratulations on retrieving the thing. now here are these rumors of what you could be doing next?

I could definitely restart a DS game. I've also got a bunch of different game systems I want to try. I'll work a bit on me retrieved data first, and then think what other game I'll make...

I'm open to other systems too! Which ones are you considering?

I have so many games that it'd be too long to list them here, but some of the games I want to try out the most are Five Torches Deep, Vagabonds of Dyfed, or Aliens & Asteroids.
