Anyone figure out how to post gifs in the forums? I was looking around and I can't find any recommendations.

If you link a gif from any source, such as imgur, it should work straight out. That said, never considered it, not being a gif person, and I'll need to think on best practices for that. For now, yah, have at it, baring in mind the usual social niceties: don't overpost gifs, be mindful of content, size, etc.

Ok used imgur and it works. I was using postimg.org and things didn't work. But imgur works.

Thanks for the answer. Wasn't planning on going crazy or posting weird stuff. Was thinking of maybe using the images to set the scene for an adventure. Is 510 kb considered large?

It could set the scene for a dystopian themed adventure.

However, if it is too big I can take it down.

510 isn't crazy, unless someone is on mobile.

I'm on mobile right now and that gif up there didn't cause any issues.

On it's own, no, but if GIFs start to become a thing on the site, it can get heavy for mobile users with limited bandwidth as well as decreasing their overall performance on the site. Which at the moment is rough anyway due to the server limitations (re: my post about site performance)
