Father Tulfgyr smacks his mace into the nearest lump of beetles yelling from rage caused by the death of the cat and the embarrassment of loosing to some beatles

Nov 26, 2017 10:15 pm
OOC:
i assumed that since the beetles attacked it was our turn again
Nov 26, 2017 10:22 pm
OOC:
No, you were right! Once Ug attacks we'll be back into the swing of things.
Nov 26, 2017 10:22 pm
Realizing his feet won't be enough Ug throws his entire body on floor in a massive expanded belly flop.

Rolls

Belly flop slam - (1d20+5)

(8) + 5 = 13

Nov 26, 2017 10:25 pm
Father Tulfgyr lands a solid smack onto the beetles, and bits and pieces of insects go flying into the air.

Ug is super tough and shrugs off 7/9 damage he would have taken, resulting in only 2 damage to himself. Then he leaps into the air, bringing all the weight of his mother's favorite son down upon the beetles. Can they get out of the way? Not very well. They get smashed for...oops. Only 4 damage.

The beetles attempt to swarm over Ug's prone body, but there are only a few of them left.

End beetles' turn.

Rolls

Beetles dexterity saving throw - (1d20+2)

(9) + 2 = 11

goliath smash damage - (1d12+3)

(1) + 3 = 4

swarm bites - (1d20+6)

(1) + 6 = 7

OOC:
Scratch that, the beetles are totally all dead after getting smashed by so much goliath. Good luck picking all of that carapace out of your skin and clothes ;)

Combat over!

Father TUlfgyr carries the remains of the cat upstairs and with tears in his eyes he apologizes to Grisella
Nov 26, 2017 11:39 pm
"Oh, my goodness! The poor dear..." Grisella chokes back a sob. "But where was he? What happened to him?"

trolls in the cellar!
"the lil un was in the cellar and these beetles ambushed him" Tulfgyr says as he brings it in for a hug crying just a little bit
Nov 27, 2017 12:04 am
"I have never heard of such bugs! But I suppose, in a way, Mr. Tibbles saved my life. What if I had been the one to go down there?" Grisella sighs, and then shrugs helplessly. "Icewind Dale is a hard place to live. But worse things have happened than this, and we always make the best of it." She straightens her apron, and then says, "Father, would you mind burying the poor thing for me? Just out back is fine. And here's something for your help and your trouble. Please share it with Ug." She hands Father Tulfgyr a small pouch.
OOC:
20 gold each for Tulfgyr and Ug!

Tulfgyr and Ug's bravery in killing the bugs wins everybody 90 XP! I believe each character should be at 1,090 XP now

Ug finally materializes from cellar stairs covered in bites, flakes of carapace, and beetle juice. He gives the mourning Grisella a comforting hug, accepts the gold but leaves a few of the pieces on one of the tables to help pay for the broken chairs. He pops one of the pieces of Beetles into his mouth and starts chewing as he heads out the front door and into the cold thinking maybe he could find her another kitty.

Easthaven is by nobody's standards a large town. Stepping out from the Wimter's Cradle, Ug can see faded signs in front of the main buildings:

The Snowdrift Inn
Pomab's Emporium
FishSpeaker
Temple of Tempus

Father Tulfgyr carries the body outside with a shovel and decideds to bury him near the lake

OOC:
Tulfgyr - do you want to bury the cat by the lake in town or out of town?
