"Any of you that wants to live, throw down your weapons and we won't paint the deck with your blood!"

While waiting in the que to board, Kray will appeal to the enemy crews realization that they may have bitten off more than they can chew. Going for the classic crew press here, J.

Kray
R4

Kray holds steady at the Keshet stern rail. His threatening call for surrender echoes out from the fog. His voice carries across the river, an eerie menace from an unseen source.

Kray can see the glow of the oil fire on the Korvaran bow sliding away through the fog to his left. He can tell that the larger boat is moving away to the side as the Keshet pivots. He can start to make out the lining of the larger ship again now. The fog is gradually thinning somehow in the movement, at least there at the stern end of the Keshet.

DMJ says:
OOC:
Now if you tell me Thorn had a PHB 50' coil of hemp rope actually hanging off of his utility belt or over the shoulder staged for quick draw and cast throughout this river cruise, I would smirk and chuckle to myself and then say that it would be possible to draw and cast that back over with no requirements for rolls, but it would burn Action for the Round. That rope would then be referred to as "The Bat-Rope."
OOC:
Hempen rope did cross my mind, haha. Of course Thorn is always wearing his explorer's pack, taking it off only to scratch his sweaty back! Of course, this is the moment the crew of the Keshet chose to reveal their true colours, so his pack, including his precious rope, is lying somewhere on the boat... No. I was thinking about looking about for some spare rope on the deck, but it looks like there's a Heshboy to take care of first.
DMJ says:
As Thorn grips the rails a raider steps in to intercept him. The Heshbaan sets his shield against Thorn's chest and shoulders and tries to shove him loose.
Thorn grips the shield and shoves it aside with his left arm, throwing each leg over the railing and landing on the deck of the longship. His right hand reaches back and pulls his blade forth, bringing it down on the Heshbaan's shoulders.
OOC:
Does Attack 1 take care of the raider, J? If yes, is there another immediate threat Thorn can see? If not, could he use his second attack for just that perception check you talked about earlier?

Thorn
R4

Thorn's chops down onto the man's shoulder, burying the heavy blade in his chest. As the body falls away, Thorn hears the sounds of struggle to his left. The Heshbaan are grunting and talking sharply as if in a fight. It must be with Ivor who was just at that location seconds ago.

Thorn steps over and suddenly another raider comes into view, emerging from the mist. Thorn is right upon him.

"Kray, we got to get up there too." Maeriks says, straining to see through the cloud. If only the wind would push the cloud more towards the front of the other ship, then he could see the rails before he jumps.

Wait... Yes! Maeriks could feel the slight breeze, cool on his skin. Its exactly what he hoped for - the cloud begins to drift along the length of the Korvaran. He strains his eyes more, blinking in concentration, waiting for the moment when the Korvaran railing becomes visible. He then rushes forward and leaps high, lightly tossing his glaive over the rail as he does so. He grabs the railing and rolls over the top of it with less grace than he had hoped - spilling out from his backpack his remaining javelins. Picking up the glaive, he steps forward toward the sounds of the soldiers that knocked Ivor overboard.

Rolls below, but what targets does he find in the mist?

Maeriks
R4

As Maeriks stares and squints into the fog, it melts away immediately around him and Kray. The back rail of the Keshet, the sidewall of the Korvaran hull, and the higher top rail all become visible to Kray and Maeriks. All the while, the deck of the Korvaran is still covered in fog. Those hidden within it are still blinded by the thick cover.

R4 Update (on the Keshet)

Maeriks has changed the circumstance for R4. Boarding attempt by Maeriks and Kray is now possible!
R4 Keshet-to-Korvaran boarding requires DC 12 STR Athletics check.

Kray and Maeriks also individually roll Initiative if you make it to the Korvaran deck. This will apply to any Action that may be forthcoming in R5.
OOC:
CB, those Attacks above will apply for R5. I'm pretty sure Maeriks will be able to get involved in melee then.
Send Atheltics check to confirm he makes it up and then Initiative to see how it fits into sequence with what is already going on at time of action already underway by others.

Thorn
R4 (cont'd)

Impaled in the groin, the raider screams out in agony and falls over into the fog.

Attack 2: Hit

Reacting to the commotion, a myrmidon drives forward to do battle with Thorn within the fog cover. He leads with his shield and has transitioned from spear to his close combat bronze gladius.
OOC:
X, this is really going to be a shift to R5 going on gradually among all of us. Thorn has Initiative over these guys on the upper deck. Go ahead and send R5 Actions if possible and we can keep pressing on.
Dec 19, 2017 11:37 am
TR5

Turning from this second raider, Thorn spots the Myrmidon who just shoved Ivor over the railing and charges at him, swinging for the warrior's shins, intent on laying the man flat on his back.
