Attack with Sneak Attack v. H4 Hit
Off-hand Attack Bonus Action Hit

Bryn adjusts position and timing to strike the hound at its most vulnerable moment of exposure while it is focusing on Thorn instead of him. His second chopping strike with the kukri cuts deep, slashing into the hounds shoulder near the neck, drawing blood and opening a large wound of grayish pink flesh now exposed. The hound responds and jerks backwards with a loud growl.

Hounds
TR3

The three hounds still standing bark and bray with terrifying fury as they shift position, lunging back and forth in threatening manner all the while. As if in unifying in a controlled formation, they reset and stand their ground again, but this time to the north instead of the south.

They stand poised teeth bared and ready for more combat, on the brink of leaping forward, but holding at the moment to rage with their loud continuous barking.
OOC:
Just to clarify, these monsters are doing a Movement to reposition. There is no case for Reaction OAs against them. They are not fleeing. The characters can see that they are right on the brink of launching right back into the fray, but seem to be more interested now in threatening against advance. In mechanics, think of it like this: if you move forward to Attack in BR3 they will get a R3 Attack before you. Something like the Hold or Ready Action.
And yes this northern positioning does lay in the path of the robed figure that is beyond the dogs now, further north and jetting into the woods. Bezil Koral, lying prone and motionless on his back, is behind the dogs as well, pretty close by.
Cloaked Figure
R3

The cloaked figure seems to glide, as there are no feet visible beneath the black robes. The darkness of the robes make it even more difficult to see detail in the low light, fog, and increasing distance. You can see though that the robed figure snatches a bow up as he passes a tree upon which the bow was apparently propped previously. After that, the figure has made it to a patch of trees and continues to move at a high speed through the cluttered terrain of the forest.

Downed Hounds
TR3

With attention on the three threatening hounds still mobile and on the fleeting cloaked figure beyond them, it is a surprise to suddenly notice when the body of the mutilated hound caught in Ivor's net (H3) bursts into flames! In the quickness of it all, Ivor feels sure that he sees the hound begin to stir again as well.

REQUIRED ACTION: Ivor DEX Save

Glancing back at the other bodies, you see that the hound struck down off of Oram (H5) is ... smoldering. Smoke is clearly billowing out from its wounds, mouth, eyes, and ears.

Even more shocking, the hound that Thorn struck down first is not only catching on fire, but standing back up and surging forward!

Still recovering and bewildered, Oram leans heavily against Maeriks. He first sees the cloaked figure to the north when others point it out. Then his eyes go wide when some of the hounds catch fire.

Oram begins to yell out in Heshbaan to Maeriks, grabbing the big Dannein on the shoulder and pulling him, motioning for him to withdraw further uphill. Fear is in the man's eyes.

Barely keeping his wherewithal, the armsman snatches his dropped gladius from the grass and stabs down into the smoking hound near him and Maeriks. The bronze blade spears straight through hound and into the ground. The hound jolts and gives out a growl, moving now, but it is pinned. It bursts into flames!

Oram yells out in Heshbaan, "GASSAAA!!!"

Everyone understands that word: "RUN!"

What the...?

Kray had seen some strangeness in the Borgh Riac, but these flaming hounds presented a much different threat. And fire had the potential for devastating effect on the battlefield. Regardless, Kray had a sincere appreciation for Oram's concerns about the hound that had just burst into flames, not to mention his knowledge of the terrain.

"Withdraw! Up the hill!" His attention turned to Thorn and the flaming hound he was engaged with. "Thorn! Leave it!"

Assuming everyone is down with falling back and not being crisper, Kray will be rear guard and cover the tactical withdrawal, keeping himself between the party and the hounds. They're hounds anyway. Let em chase.

Another rally for Thorn.

Hardly taking his eyes off the hound in front of him, Maeriks takes in the scene in his periphery. Fire? How? Maeriks pauses, assuming there must be some oil or a burning arrow he does not see, but there is none and he knows it. He is missing something that the others, being smarter than him, must know. Surely this is okay tho, as it won't be the first time Maeriks has had roasted dog. But Kray is the boss.

Using his reach to cover the withdraw of the others, Maeriks strikes at the burning dog assaulting Thorn, then moves back with the group toward the hill.

Yshala, what madness is this?

Renewed attack accompanied by fire is causing Thorn to falter. He is beginning to tire, and he can no longer rely, it seems, on downed enemies staying down. The devilish creature has him.
Kray says:
"Thorn! Leave it!"
Easier said than done.

He sucks in a lungful of air and twists, attempting to rip himself free. He wrenches his arm from the flaming jaws. The bloodied and burn man begins to run.

BR3

2 Attacks and Bonus Attack (back shaft): All Hit

Maeriks loops around to intercept the flaming hound that is assaulting Thorn. Using the extended reach of the glaive, his first strike turns the dogs attention away from Thorn. When Maeriks steps forward to hit a second time with the back end of the shaft, he finds that getting so close brings him within range of the expanding fire.

Maeriks takes Fire Damage below, caused when he shifts to close combat 5' range for pole shaft attack.

He takes a bit of a sting and steps back enough to avoid the flame, but still within the extended reach of the glaive blade, which he brings down heavy, straight on top of the hounds head, driving the dog to the ground. Maeriks hears and feels the skull split and sees a glob of flaming sludge burst out, like a burst of burning sticky brain matter. The hound is stopped, for a second time.

Continuing to back up even further, Maeriks follows along behind the others already advancing up the hill. He sees the flames of the dog he put down getting higher and higher, the fire intensifying to a point where Maeriks begins to lose sight of the dog's body within.

Thorn
R3

The dog lunges forward at such a surprise Thorn finds himself briefly locked by the flaming hound's monstrous maw.

TR3, Initial capture resistance failed. Thorn begins Restrained condition.

BR3

Break hold effort successful
OOC:
X, really this Break Free attempt should have been made at Disadvantage because of Restrained condition, but I'm rolling with it here that Thorn makes it (looks like by the numbers he would only have a 15% chance of failure).
Thorn is forced to take hold of the dog, enduring the flames and using all of his strength reserves, and break its grip in order to keep moving.

Fortunately, Thorn is able to shift position away from the dog's reach just in the nick of time as Maeriks comes in to strike the dog with his pole glaive.
Xorthan says:
OOC:
Hey J, it just occurred to me that the "Q rule" probably doesn't apply to to the above, where I'm using my action to break from a grapple and disengage. If that's the case, Thorn just runs, OA's be damned.
OOC:
True. Break Grapple is counted as Attack action, so full action of Disengage could not apply. Still regular Movement is possible.
Movement 30' complete.

Thorn moves further up the hill with Kray and Oram, and then sees Maeriks following along just behind after beating the fire dog down.

Ruling: By stark mechanics, FH6 could have been awarded an OA because of Thorn's movement. On realism and narrative adjustment, full OA was foiled by timely attack of ally. FH6 will not take attack, but Thorn must endure Fire proximity damage because of the relentless pursuit and closeness as the hound tried to close in but was narrowly denied.

Ivor
BR3
OOC:
Jabes, send in a DEX save for Ivor.
I'll explain what it is in advance, and you can give the update, some of which you have flexibility on.

Save is for getting Fire damage or not as the hound in the net suddenly ignites.

If you Save, you can back away with no damage, but leave the net. Dog is still Restrained until the situation changes by other input.
If you Save, you can also stay to pull the net free, but you and the net both take fire damage. And Restrained condition of course is ended.

If you Fail Save, you and the net both take fire damage automatically. But Restrained condition continues until changed by other inputs.
REQUIRED ACTION: Ivor DEX Save, DC 12

OOC:
I see now that you asked for it here. I apologize for missing it!

UPDATE: I'll suffer the fire damage and take the net with me as I move, and take any incoming OA.

As the captured hound ignites into flames, Ivor risks the heat long enough to shift his net and snatch it free before it is completely consumed by the sudden fire.

Ivor and Net take fire proximity damage below.

FH3
R3 Reaction OA

Attack v. Ivor
If hit, required DC 12 comparison (STR Athletics or DEX Acrobatics) to escape bite that delivers Restrained condition.

With flame engulfing its hide, and especially blazing out of all of the puncture wounds in its torso, the hound rises to new life and chomps at Ivor the moment it is released.
Jabes.plays.RPG says:
[ +- ] Trident set to receive a charge.
OOC:
We'll see if this applies as the situation develops, but technically it won't during this round (R3). A little weird and clunky on the mechanics, but I see the dog as getting a quick snap (OA Reaction) at Ivor when he gets free. Then Ivor does Movement BR3. Dog doesn't technically have Movement for R3 since it was Restrained during its Action sequence. Set for charge might come around next though.

That was a miss by FH3. I'm unsure if a reaction riposte makes sense as we're falling back and then setting up to repel another surge.
Ivor puls his net free, but judging it as possibly useless against these burning hounds, stows it as he backs away. "What now, Mercon?"

R3 Update
OOC:
I see it this way so far:

Oram, Kray, Thorn, Maeriks, Ivor move uphill. For various Actions taken, it was a 30' Move for all.

FH6 was put down by Maeriks and is raging into mini-inferno on the ground 30' away.

FH5 was pinned to the ground by Oram with a stab-through tactic, also burning hot at position 30' away.

FH3 currently is the only fire dog mobile. By Movement rules/Action sequence, he is a 30' distance away technically, - in real visuals it should be sort of a blend on time and spacing. We'll see what develops.

3 Non-ignited hounds are slightly further away north, just behind their flaming packmates, so about 35-40' from the regrouped party.

Ox, I'm going to assume that Bryn also shifted up with the crowd to the 30' southward uphill rally/controlled withdrawal line?
Or maybe he goes over to enjoy some fire proximity damage to stab at Ivor's recently freed flaming pet FH3?
Come to think of it, I don't know, so I won't assume anything yet. Send the update for Bryn R3.

In any case, noteworthy for the reassembled higher ground rally/break-contact line...
Ivor is set for charge and
Maeriks brandishes the 10-footer with Polearm Master OA threat for approaching targets.
We'll see what applies for R4.
Transition R3 to R4 can come when Ox weighs in.
