During the military display, that ended up being a time that left the LEAST chance for slipping away. For all of the soldiers (both Gilded Armsman locals and Korvaran mercenaries) who were in the center stage performance, there were even more than that who kind of stacked up in the back of the main room and entrances to all the side rooms. They were both watching the performance but also creating a sort of "show of force" machismo over the whole setting.
I could picture Bryn trying to drift back in the crowd, check out for openings in several outer rooms hallways stairways, and then just conceding that it wasn't the right time to make a move to slip away.
In the moments that followed, power soldier display is over in the main room, people start clapping, soldiers called to ease and start dispersing. So Bryn walks back to check in with the team, Acastus is meanwhile doing the cock size contest with Kray, fits in a last quick insult at Bryn's expense too, then struts out. Bryn comes up to get Kray's review (assassination plan. Oh man this was so Kray Kray funny) after the exchange.
As for chances to slip away, that seems increasingly possible, Bryn will see and others as well, in the time that follows. The night at Garden Palace Gala is changing . . . in mood, environment, opportunity.
More to follow soon, but I want to give some time for the weekend downshift tradition. Allow a slow burn for everyone to catch up or weigh in with some casual fluff.
One last thing: Ox, do you think Thorn will ever get laid?
