OOC:
Gotta break, but upon return to fireplace room will incorporate
1) Bryn's Actions which I am interpreting as still in Round 1 but out of normal sequence because of circumstance,
2) Trece's progress as first Actor in TR2.

In the meantime,
Sizhen and Bryn can post Action for TR2 when ready.

In the other hallway scene...
Hallway ex-nappers need an Initiative Roll, can post Action if you win TR1, or I will send Invisible Servant Action if you lose.

Initiative. Not sure of the group bonus. Given Krays DEX I'll assume its +2 or better.

EDIT: If that's a tie I believe they go to the PC's.

Without breaking stride, Kray pulls his knife as he moves in to gut the nearest robes foe.

Don't need these guys making noise. Action surge. May use precision attacks depending on tolls. Bonus action will be Krays first attack with fist. If one drops Kray will use attacks on the remaining guy.

EDIT: Using Precision on Knife 1. Looks like knife 1 and 2 are hits. Maybe the fist depending on how tough these guys are.

Sizhen struggles with the old mechanism for the chain. The chandelier falls with a satisfying crash, the chain falling quickly behind it. He makes his way to the chain, keeping an eye on the Golem and analyzing its movements for a weakness.
OOC:
Action: Release the chain
Bonus Action: Insightful Fighting: Contested investigation (Sizhen) vs. Deception (Golem) check. I got 26 on the investigation roll

Bryn
TR1

Instinctively making a move towards the door, Bryn changes direction after he sees the Golem attack the others. He steps towards the center of the room, daggers out, seeking to flank the monster. To his frustration, his knives have no effect, the Golem's clay hide too rugged.

Attacks: Miss

Kray
TR1

PCs win Initiative, control Top of Round 1.

Kray moves forward past Ra u nak without hesitation, punching the lead stretcher bearer in the face. As the robed man reels back, Kray draws his knife with a reverse grip, sending it gliding out in one fluid motion. The obsidian edge slides across the side of the man's neck. A spray of blood and the man throws his hands up to his own neck to hold the wound, but Kray has already reversed his swing and the knife plunges into the man's chest, sending him backwards thudding against the wall.

Punch: Hit
Knife 1, 2: Hit

As the forward carrier slides to the floor, Kray is already moving towards the other target. The man at the rear still holds the stretcher as his companion is killed. Overcome by fear, the man drops the litter. The unconscious man carried crashes to the floor, flopping onto the hard stone as the stretcher tilts and hits hard on one side.

In the commotion of the litter, Kray's movement is frustrated slightly. He makes some wild swings with the knife, but the frightened man backs away just enough to avoid being cut.

Knife 3, 4: Miss

OOC:
Short on time again, but R2 of the Golem fight coming next. Think all PC Actions are in, so hopefully can steal enough time to write the flow of the whole series.

TR1 Action slots available for Thorn and Ivor in the hallway fight. One target remaining.
Apr 12, 2018 2:18 pm
Thorn briefly reaches for Urdav's blade before remembering where he left it. As Kray meets the nearest, he rushes to the farthest servant in an attempt to put him down in a way he hasn't practiced in years. Kick to the groin. Punch the nose. Fist to the solar plexus. Elbow to the back of the head. Gently lay the man down on the floor.
OOC:
Also throwing in my action surge on IS#2.

Trece
TR2

After slipping loose from the Golem's grasp, Trece stands his ground and continues to pelt the clay monster with bare fist!

One hit crashes into a star-shaped emblem on the Golem's chest. The strike causes a thin crack in the chest and a sort of shift of the star emblem slightly.

Attacks: Hit, hit, and Critical Hit.

As before, this assault would be fatal against a man, but the Golem's tough hide seems to absorb force and reduce impact.

Bryn
TR2

After being initially foiled by the Golem's tough hide, Bryn reengages with his blades, seeking to angle into the clay material of the Golem's form to damage and break the structure.

Sizhen
TR2

When the heavy iron chandelier crashes down on the floor near the Golem, Sizhen quickly moves over to manipulate the chain. He gathers up the slack

WIS comparison: Fail (no roll necessary. Golem cannot reach DC as set)

Sizhen begins to form ideas of how to wrap and restrain the monster using the heavy chain system.
OOC:
Len, I'm thinking of this almost like Sizhen is coming up with an improvised Net-like devise. I think it is a two part plan that would take at least two rounds to execute:
1) get an anchor hold on the Golem first, some way to hold the chain on legs, hips, etc. and leave a running end length for entangling
2) wrap the running edge around somehow, likely in a mixture of thrown loops and encircling passes

So I picture step one underway now. How to get the anchor point started? One thing I think could work would be to actually get him to step into chandelier itself, loop his arm through it, get it over his head, etc. and then pull the running chain length to get it taunt. Opened to other ideas on this too for the narrative. Whatever it is, will seem to fit narratively as a part of the overall idea of Insightful Fighting success.

On mechanics, Improvised Weapons Disadvantage? Maybe. Sizhen is certainly not "proficient" in this attack system, but I dig the use of setting material to pull off crazy scenes, so no Disadvantage. Right now this will be a normal Attack, in the way of a Net. Which Ability Modifier to apply? I think it has to be STR. I can see a bit of an appeal for DEX, but overall it is going to take some muscle to heave that in there and get it hooked into place and anchored.

After that result is in, we'll manage mechanics for step 2 and beyond as we go. So if you are game...

Optional Action: Attack effort for chain restraint system

Thorn
TR1

The second invisible servant is silenced and knocked unconscious by Thorn's quick assault.

All Hits.

Thorn puts him on the floor, lying next to the dropped patient, who still seems to be asleep or perhaps drugged out.

At a quick glance, Thorn notices an open doorway nearby. He can see in the edge of it; it is some sort of sleeping chamber.

There are other closed doors along this hallway.
Apr 12, 2018 5:32 pm
A look of surprise on Ra u nak's face. The Old Seetan looks down at the three bodies down after Kray and Thorn's burst into action.

"Oh. Aye! Hoh." the quirky man says with a short pause, taking in the predicament as it is.

Then he gets back into motion. Pointing to the bedroom, "We hide them. There!" he says in a heightened whisper.
Apr 12, 2018 5:37 pm
Kray kneels and pierces the heart of the servant downed by Thorn with a singular quick thrust, hand over the helpless man's mouth.

Standing again, he gives Thorn a look that makes the logic behind his action clear: No witnesses. At that he moves to conceal the bodies as suggested by Ra u nak.

Action 2: Grapple Attempt target Bryn

Still a little foggy, Ivor is slow to react to the sudden fight. It's over as quickly as it began. He helps Kray hide the bodies. "What about that?" he asks, pointing at the fat man the servants were carrying on the stretcher.

I might be out for the night.

Sizhen can fire Step 1 of the chain trap for R2.

Looks like Bryndianna may be captured.

Trece needs to roll comparative v. Grapple.

I need to finish Golem at MR2 then shift to Seetan NPCs BR2.

Kray nods understanding."What about all of it?"

After the bodies are moved, Kray will take a look at the faces behind the robes. Speaking of, Kray will put on one of the robes all disguise like and make a point to be on point for encounters. Stealth like as possible, going where the old man directs.

And yes. Let's take a look at the plump man who was cargo moments ago.

Trece removes his attention from the golem to see Palla Ba, just briefly, before he sees the golem's hand reach for him. He doesn't have time to react and is held in it's large hands.
