Xorthan says:
...

Thorn takes the sap off the dead man, examines it briefly, and stores it in his tunic, as well as the restraints.
OOC:
What kind of damage would the sap do to someone compared to Thorn's fists, DM?
OOC:
Have been meaning to put this forward, but going back and forth about how to mechanically translate this specialized weapon.
It's long I know, but you asked for it...
Sap
Properties: Light, Finesse, Special
Damage: Special

If used normally, with STR Mod:
Damage: 1 (+ STR Mod)
Attack: made at Disadvantage

If used as Finesse:
Damage: 1d3 (+ DEX Mod), all damage non-lethal
If victim reduced to point of making Death Saves, he is instead rendered Unconscious immediately.
Special Effect of Sapping Strike in play if any 1 or more of the following circumstances are met:
* Attacker has Surprise
* Attacker is a Rogue character and meets Sneak Attack criteria
* Attacker scores a Critical Hit on Attack roll (This one can apply whether Attacker is wielding with STR or with DEX Finesse)
Sapping Strike: Victim must succeed at a DC 10 CON save or be Stunned. If Save is failed by 5 or more, victim is struck Unconscious.
OOC:
This is a quick design, let's go with it for now though for a little variety on the scene.
Full Disclaimer up front though: I really doubt it will happen, but if this little leather-and-lead headknocker becomes some weird OP key item that starts breaking the long-term game, I'll discontinue these House stats. I will offer a brief apology before doing so though, so at least that will be pretty nice to whoever it is who has turned into The Sapper.

Upstairs...

As the group ducks into the side room to get reorganized, they hear a light sound of voices around the corner of the hall.

Ra u nak explains that they need to round that last corner and make it to one more downward spiral stair.

Thorn searches the bodies of the slain invisible servants as he removes their black robes and covers. On one of the he finds a sap, a leather strap weighted with lead on one end. Both of the men have a couple of lengths of thin soft-leather lashes -- restraints for tying hands?

Kray and Ivor inspect the robes. Both of them have blood stains, but hopefully it can be concealed by the black color.
OOC:
Give me a final layout of who is doing disguise(s), who is acting drunk as a patient, etc. Do you guys mean to carry someone on the litter? Frame it out and give me a vision of what is going on and an overview strategy of how to make it around the corner to the stairs, with suspicion that their may be some people to get past one way or another.
My intent is too have two disguises up front, just so we can get close enough to get the drop on people. The non disguised group members stay behind. Idea is to get close.enough to kill before npc's know what's on them.

Disguising the whole group successfully and sneaking past anyone seems like a slim chance given the groups makeup.

Bryn
TR4

Taking advantage of the Golem's mixed attention, Bryn continues to attack the monster with his knives. It is difficult to land any meaningful blow with the small weapons, but finally Bryn manages to drive one blade down into the edge of the Golem's shoulder and then tear outward. A small clump of clay crumbles free, falling to the floor.

Attack 1: Miss
Attack 2: Hit, Sneak Attack applied

OOC:
Alright. Makes sense. Before we kick it off though, someone announce final jobs on who specifically it is in the disguises and who is hanging back.
I'm clear that Ra u nak is one guy NOT in disguise, but what about PCs? Seems like the final decision is still being debated based on the questions and open comments on posts above.
It may or may not matter based on Actions that come up, positioning and order of travel, possible skill checks (Deception, Performance, Persuasion, Perception, etc.).

Kray in front. He can cover the skills you mentioned. Other disguised person following behind at a distance to make sure they aren't the point of contact. Maybe 10 feet behind Kray or so.

Everyone else should be hanging back out of sight. In my mind Kray and the other disguised PC round the corner and get up close as possible before anyone tries to talk to us.
Also, Kray will definitely take a look around that corner before we move in to the room.

Stealth roll to scout ahead of the group. May use Lucky.

Right on. I see it now.
Just Thorn and RaRa are in the back. A four-man crew now.
Tea Boss sent the Bishtu twins off in another direction carrying the heavy gear back to the party early on.
And by the way, who knows where Gibon is? Last he was seen earlier in the night. Hopefully he is with Balanser and Hasa.

Sizhen recognizes the cunning in the old Seetan's instructions. He wastes no time with acknowledgement, knowing that the results will speak for themselves.
OOC:
After it fails or succeeds, I'll use a bonus action to disengage and move 25 feet away from the Golem.

Ra u nak explains that they must turn right at the next hall, pass through it to reach a large throughway hall beyond. On the other side of that is a corner spiral stair that they must descend.

Kray, now wearing the black robe of an invisible servant, stalks down to the corner and peeks around for an advance look.

He sees a wider hallway with doors on both sides, a few opened but most closed. They may be bedrooms similar to the one the group took a brief halt within.

Kray sees two invisible servants escorting a robed nobleman who looks dazed out and enthralled. One of the poets is there at the door and directs the servants to guide the man into a particular room. Once they enter, the poet follows in after and closes the door.

Kray can hear soft conversation here and there, coming from a few of the rooms with opened doors, but he watches for a moment when the hallway is clear and then motions the others up to the corner. Hopefully they can make a move across as a group quickly and pass this high-traffic spot without event.

One last check in here to make sure Disguise Team is good to go. Next post on return to this camera will move to the risk crossing.

Sizhen
TR4

The concept of the entrapment seems sound, Sizhen knows, but the execution proves to be more difficult than anticipated. With the Golem wheel and turning, shifting its heavy legs and swinging its arms, efforts to tightly wrap it with the chain length are frustrated.

Immobilizer Program Step 2: Unsuccessful

Sizhen is forced to back away to ensure that he is not targeted by the Golem, but he maintains the long chain in hand.
OOC:
Len, I wasn't clear about it, but I am going with a special case ruling that Sizhen can apply Proficiency on this improvised weapon/trap system. It's not a once-for-all grant or trend of getting Improvised Weapon Proficiency, but more of a mix of your own RP deduction and story that mentioned Sizhen's recognition that immobilization might be the best strategy for this sort of opponent plus the very strong comparative check on Insightful Fighting, plus the Critical Hit on Trap Step 1 sort of flows well with narrative explanation. Trying to blend some abstract ideas into mechanics ad-hoc.
Unfortunately, even with Proficiency added to the most recent rolls, numbers aren't quite to success. If you choose to keep at it, incorporate Proficiency in next attempts.
Clarity Disclosure: the minimum number to land is 14.

Trece
TR4

Trece reaches out with one hand, grabs a length of chain wrapped around the Golem's neck. He pulls towards it in a strong snatch just as he pushes momentum with his feet. This swings the Golem's arm, and Trece, inward.

Now face to face with the Golem at point blank range, Trece unleashes a vicious series of punches into the monster's wide face. Time after time, Trece's fist slam into the hard material with a crack and thud. Trece's hands are beginning to bleed now, but his assault is relentless even as the Golem's giant hand still holds fast to him.

Golem
MR4

With Bryn cutting it's back shoulder, Trece wailing on its face, Palla Ba tugging at its arm, and the large steel chandelier and chains wrapped haphazardly around it's neck and shoulder, the big Golem looks like walking tree of chaos. Still yet, it lurches on and reacts with brutish violence.

With it's hindered left arm, the giant wheels around with a wild reverse swing at Bryn, perhaps trying to simply knock his head off instead of grab him.

Attack: Bryn

In fluid motion just after, the monster raises Trece again high up in the air, arching high to crash him into the ground under full weight and momentum.

Slam Attack: Trece

note damage adjustment below next post.

Palla Ba
BR4

Just as Trece is violently slung downward, Palla Ba at the last minute steps into the path of descent. The old man does what he can to catch Trece with his arms and uses his own body to soften the collision. Palla Ba is crushed to the ground beneath Trece, taking part of the impact upon himself in hopes of saving the young man's life.

Reaction: Sacrificing Help
Damage on Slam Attack above split:
Palla Ba 8
Trece 7

While on the ground, Palla Ba wraps his thin arms around Trece and strives against all odds to pull his companion free just as the Golem tries to lift him again.

Action: Break Grapple Attempt
Disadvantage applied on circumstance

The feeble attempt is of no use. The Golem retains Trece in his one-hand vice clutch.

BR4

Lok steps over and grabs an iron fire stoker. Brandishing the makeshift weapon, he advances against the Golem despite his own injuries.

Even as his stomach turns in fear, he summons up the courage to shout boldly in Heshbaan, "HAAAAH, GOLEM! Have at you, Villain! Mindless brute, HERE WE STAND!"

Sizhen's failure irks him. The simple concept of looping the chain is complicated by the chaos of the brawl. In his retreat, he makes his way to the Golem's blindspot to give himself a better chance.
OOC:
