OOC:
Bonus action to dash. I will send a dagger throw with potential disadvantage and potential sneak attack based on circumstances.
Wounded and bleeding, Thorn soldiers on, moving with Bryn down the corridor. Urdav's blade in his left hand, Thorn readies a handaxe to incapacitate the enemy.

"I yield, Mercon!" Uburatu says quickly, begrudgingly. "Call your men off. Back away, Elam! I have relented!"

He speaks in Heshbaan, of which Kray can generally understand in the context.

Bull Maeriks
R8

The bull's heavy hooves stomp into Balis's chest, cracking bone beneath his armor. The beast man is losing consciousness when the bull slams down horns first into him. The rock-hard skull of the bull hits Balis in the face, sending him crashing backwards, the back of his own head hitting the stone floor when it lands in a thump.

Both Hit

Balis the Beast lies motionless, a bloody pulp wrapped in armor, as the bull stubbornly presses harder and harder, continuing to crush the victim's body into the floor.

Bryn
R8

Bryn sees a faint flutter of light at the end of the hall as he sprints forward, passing Thorn and the others conglomerating off to the right.

Bryn draws his throwing knife as he speeds through the hallway. As he gets closer, he sees that the hallway turns to the left after a stretch. The faint light is coming from around that corner.

At first the details of the hallway are getting clearer as Bryn approaches the rays of the light, but then ... the light goes out entirely. Someone has put the light out.

When Bryn rounds the corner he sees nothing. He is in a sea of pitch black darkness. Now the torchlight from the previous room is the only light influence on his eyes, making visibility around the corner even more impossible.

Bryn's other senses heighten to full alert in the necessity though.

Alert Feat ad lib

Perhaps judging by sound. Perhaps shadows. Perhaps just instinct. Bryn knows that someone is there just ahead in the darkness.

Poised for attack, he throws!

Result: Mystery

Sounds in the darkness. A muffled grunt. His dagger hitting the ground. Movement. Footsteps. Shuffling of clothing. Further down the hall. It is unclear, but Bryn thinks someone is withdrawing.

In peripheral vision, Bryn notices Thorn approaching, following down the hall.

Thorn
R8

Thorn sees the light at the end of the hall snuff out. The outline of Bryn disappears in the darkness for a moment, Thorn runs on and gets close enough to see him again.

Bryn just threw a knife down the left hall, into the darkness. Thorn immediately turns and throws, sending more missiles down range, trusting that Bryn identified a target.

Thorn casts throwing axes, one after another, using raw instincts and trying to hone in on faint sounds of movement.

Ranged Attack Results: Mystery and Mystery

There is a grunt. A stolen sound of pain. Then the clatter of axes rattling to the floor.

Iasu
R8

Seeing that there is at least a brief pause in the close quarters clash, Iasu turns to get his bearings and recover the cocked and loaded plank bow that he had laid down on the floor in the north hallway earlier.

To his surprise, the weapon is gone! He stepped away from it only short moments ago, but now it is nowhere to be found.

Iasu sees first Bryn Rynalt then the big warrior Thorn sail past, running out of the great room and into the darkened hallway.

Keeping his eyes on as much of the chaos as he can, Iasu moves across the room back to Nabua's body, which is near the west wall, and begins to look for useable gear.
OOC:
Sorry, Jabes. The plank bow is the item of multiple theft in a series now. From Adar-Malic to Nabua. From Nabua to Iasu. And now from Iasu to ... ____????
OOC:
Written above as if Iasu continues on with action/movement as you wrote initially. Nabua's body is further away from the crowd, but Iasu could get over there no problem. If that location was a misunderstanding though, or if the absence of the plank bow changes anything about what would Iasu would elect to do - let me know. We could make some reasonable adjustments, depending on what you have in mind.

OOC:
With the discovery of the threat, Iasu would have gone back to Defcon 1. Thief = unknown element = possible threat. He'd have drawn his longbow and hunted that fucker down. Might have headed north on a hunch.

While neither Alert feat nor Expertise in Perception give relevant mechanical bonuses per RAW, proposing maybe synergy of the two is some small help here.

Uburatu cringes and pulls away from Trece's spoon when it stings his skin.

Akkeen moves forward, as if about to charge in. Uburatu tenses up and still holds his shield. Akkeen softens his charge as he gets closer.

Elam looks at Uburatu and to Kray and then back. He keeps a ready stance, swords still out, but certainly shifts down in the tension of the assault. He looks again at Kray, and seems to smile a bit.

Namtur breathes heavy and shifts down to one knee. He leans over in pain. He braces himself by leaning on the wooden shield and tries not to tip over.

Iasu stops to detect what he can.

Not good. Hounds are time bombs and that's tight corridors in that pitch black hallway.

Will post action tomorrow. At the very least it seems like baiting the hounds back in to this room would be a start. I doubt we can all engage in the hallway anyway.

That's a tough spot. I've gotta sleep now but will post more tomorrow.
Jan 12, 2019 3:43 am
Its sleep time but damn. This is a jam. It's even occurred to me to bait them in and feed then to the gel... but the risk and complexity, multiple moves...

We could spread the dogs out, use Help actions to feed them to the gel.

I forget, do the hounds blow immediately upon death? Also, is there a door in that north doorway J?
