Oram, injured from the arrow, calls out in Heshbaan.

His words seem resolute and he moves up to meet the incoming dogs alongside his saviors.

From the back of the formation, Bryn sees the Egg Thief shriek out in fear and then fall backwards. Landing next to the injured soldier whom Oram had carried but dropped after being shot.

The Thief scrambles to get to his feet and then stumbles into a full sprint down hill towards the ruined stairs back to the north.
OOC:
Ox, not sure if Bryn cares about that or not, but he has OA option against the Thief if desired.

Bryn also sees the injured armsman who crashed to the ground is actually Bezil Koral. Unrecognizable from a distance, perhaps because he no longer wears his bronze cuirass and helmet.

The injured Bezil moans out in pain and fear, getting louder and louder. Mumbling and yelling like mad, the armsman commander holds his injured abdomen and rises to his feet in a scream. Blood is soaking his tan under cover tunic. With desperation that Bryn can see in his eyes, Koral begins walking away, barely keeping his footing as he wails all the while. He is like an injured deer desperately fleeing from a merciless predator.
Jan 20, 2018 11:43 am
Another arrow flies in from the western fog, this time aimed at the bearded traveler who holds the right side of the formation.

Perhaps Bryn is the only one who sees just how close the arrow comes to hitting its mark and piercing the travelers skull. But in a flash of reflexive speed, the bearded man swings his curved sword upward and knocks the arrow off course!

In one continuous action, the tall bearded man bursts into a full sprint, plunging into the fog to the right, on reverse trajectory from the incoming arrow. In seconds he has moved so far and so fast, he disappears into the fog.

Hounds
Top of Round 1 (TR1)

The monstrous hounds attack!

Hound 1 v. Thorn
Hound 2 v. Kray
Hound 3 v. Ivor
Hound 4 v. Thorn
Hound 5 v. Oram
Hound 6 v. Thorn

Apparently not dumb beasts, the dogs spread themselves among all opponents though they concentrate a rolling combined attack against one victim. Thorn is harried by a barrage of furious hounds!

Anyone who is hit must make escape attempt (STR or DEX Check) v. DC 12. Failure means you take Restrained condition as the big hoss gets a strong grip on you and shakes you around off balance and clasped in his jaw lock.

Ron Oram is knocked back, and a hound bites into his knee. The monster's hulking maw completely engulfs the muscular man's leg as if it is a small stick.

H5 Attack is a hit.
Begin Restrained Condition.

Oram yells out as the brute beast heaves to the side, tossing him to the ground like a rag doll.

BR1 OA Reaction

Hit against Thief

Bryn clocks the egg thief in the head real quick with the handle of his knife. The thief drops like a ton of bricks, tilting off to the side and sliding into a group of ferns.

Bryn quickly turns attention back to the charging hounds.

OOC:
X, you may still be working on your recent post, so disregard if this doesn't make any sense later after you finish it. By that time I may have been reading an old version.

I see a STR check v. H5. H5 is the one that Attacked Oram and has him Restrained. Is that an Attack by Thorn against Oram's opponent dog, an attempt to knock it loose? Or maybe you meant it in some other manner, which is fine.

Either way, looks like you have some Attacks left or at least 1 Attack I think (depending on what you meant from the STR check v. H5 above).

The escape attempt against the dog doesn't count as your Action for BR1. It is a check that technically is instantaneous in TR1,
just to determine if you are Restrained. Either way on that, you can proceed with all normal Actions as you want for BR1, you just have to Attack at Disdvantage if you are Restrained.

On targeting, Bryn injured H1 nearby Thorn. H1 is in the melee Attack range, as are H4 (of course), H5, and H6.

Sorry. No luck from the Active Perception. Thorn's attention, rightly so, is on the most pressing matters like being surrounded by murderous dog monsters instead of scanning the perimeter.
Jan 20, 2018 2:05 pm
OOC:
J, H5 was a typo, it was meant to be H4, the only dog that landed a hit. So Thorn lost the strength check to avoid being grappled by the dog at TR1, so I wrote him as restrained. The check to escape said grapple was Thorn's action for BR1.
