Posting Conventions

Dec 12, 2017 5:35 pm
Please post dialogue in bold
OOC:
Please post anything out of character, e.g. game mechanics, player to player communication with OOC tags.
Do your best to describe your character's actions in an interesting way.

If you believe your character's actions require a roll, add it to the post. If a different roll is required, I will correct you.
Please note: a roll without an accompanying description will always fail. (see below).

Examples of what not to do: (these will automatically fail)
-Calardan rolls athletics.
-Calardan investigates the room.

Examples of what to do:
-Taking a short run-up, Calardan vaults over the pit.
-Calardan searches the room thoroughly for secret doors, knocking on the walls, pulling books off bookshelves and even crawling under the bed.

I require players to post at an average of four times per week. Frequent (especially unexplained) absences will result in players being removed from the game.

General Rules:
Be respectful of other players.
Follow all of Gamer's Plane's rules.
Do not post excessive descriptions of gore or sexual activity.
Do not be a rules lawyer.

If you do not agree with these rules, back out now. I will not hold it against you.

Improvisation

My style of gaming allows for a lot of improvisation by players. Players are permitted to add details to a scene in order to make the game more enjoyable. As DM, I can of course veto any changes you make, and you should not attempt to play NPCs or other player characters. Do not abuse this solely for mechanical advantage.

From time to time I will prompt players to assist in describing the scene. I may, for example, ask you to describe something unusual about a room or an NPC, or ask you to describe something that happened during the night whilst the party was sleeping. You are free to make up whatever answer you like, so long as it is in keeping with the general theme and setting of the game.

If this doesn't sound like a style of play that you enjoy, this may not be the game for you.

Sounds good, i will benefit from your enforced detailing, I've not played alot recently and tend to be a bit abrupt. So this will work a treat.
