Reassured by Momo's presence, the horses calm.

'I am Morgle,' the orc says, 'and this is Gus, Winter and Stormjaw,' he introduces the wolves.

'Some of our smaller cousins have been raiding around here. My brothers and I have been blamed for it, so we have been tracking them. I believe they have gathered ahead, in force too great for my pack to deal with, planning to waylay travellers on the road. You should turn back, the goblins are cruel and merciless.'

Whilst he speaks, the wolves sniff inquiringly about the wagon. Gus saunters to the side where Mantra lies hidden and growls with sudden emotion. He leaps and scrambles against the side of the wagon, trying to get aboard. Morgle rushes to restrain the eager wolf. 'Gus, heel!' he yells. The orc spots Mantra. 'Wolf-killer! I swore if I never saw you again it would be too soon!'
Jan 6, 2018 1:38 pm
As did I. And that was is self defense, for the last time.
He says, sitting up from laying down on the wagon. It looks like we're going the same direction and I'm more than willing to kill some damn goblins so I suggest you keep your hands and wolves to yourself. There's no Lenor to protect either of us now. He says in a cynical, cold tone.
OOC:
Check my character sheet, Robago, and you will know who Lenor was.
Jan 6, 2018 2:06 pm
'You were unworthy of her, wolf-killer. It was only a matter of time before she left you. But perhaps you make a good point. Together we may be strong enough to kill the goblins.' The last said with difficulty, and Morgle leaves the statement hanging for a moment before turning to Momo. 'How is it that you are friends with this one?' he asks Momo, indicating Mantra.
Jan 6, 2018 2:19 pm
Crackles of electicity dance at Mantra's eyes as he hears Morgle's words. The ground rumbles and a voice risen in anger rings out across the planes as Mantra stands and draws his sword. I should kill you for all the trouble you've caused! For the injury your mangy wolves left me!
She died in my arms after you left!
Jan 7, 2018 1:54 pm
OOC:
Not if this is waiting on a response from me...Based on a sword being drawn in a rush of emotion, Momo would just be staring and waiting for the big guy to respond
Jan 7, 2018 2:14 pm
OOC:
Yes, I did want to give everyone else a chance to chime in.
The wolves press protectively around Morgle, snarling, but the wolf-master makes no move to draw a weapon.

'I am saddened to hear of her passing,' Morgle says. 'In her memory, let there be peace between us. I will warn you again – death waits ahead on this road. I have said what I came to say.' He turns and begins to walk slowly down the road. After a few moments the wolves join him.
OOC:
What is everyone doing?
Jan 7, 2018 10:56 pm
Well, that was a cheery and touching reunion, now that you have decided to take my place in the wagon. I'll take watch while you rest. It sounds like we might need it.
With this ominous warning i decide to be a bit more careful in my observing my suroundings, looking for anything unusual.

Rolls

Perception check - (1d20+1)

OOC:
is it a covered wagon or is it just a bare bones one open to the back with maybe a blanket across it?
Davrick seeing the wolves that are easy his size on a good day stays in the back of the wagon not wanting to really mess with a beast that if it wanted could just pick him up and walk away. When they are out of sight he climbs up into the seat at the front of the wagon next to Petrev. So did you have a good little rest back there? doesnt seem the most comfy on that wood floor, i personally prefer my nice comfy bed. What do you think of these goblins we have coming up on the road, think we can find anything good that they have stolen from others?

As he is riding in the run he is fidgeting with a little box that has 4 different locks on it that he keeps with him to keep his skills sharp, not really focusing on it just keeping himself occupied.

OOC:
The wagon is bare bones.
Shortly after Morgle's departure, the party round a bend in the road and find the Wolfmaster and his pack have vanished from sight. As the party move further from the city, the land becomes more wild, the neat fields giving way to a thick cover of trees. At the edge of the forest, a fallen tree blocks the road.
Jan 8, 2018 6:18 am
Well, if years at sea have taught me anything, it is how to sleep anywhere looking up to see the blocked road i continue. The other thing i learned well is to defend myself. And now it looks like it is time for that particular skill, to be put to good use.
I draw my weapons and ready them at my side.

Momo sees daggers and rapiers being pulled out by the others and says aloud, "You'll never cut that thing apart with those. Clearly you've never had to cut a tree apart. I have an axe, but it's going to take a while to cut that thing up and move it."
Jan 8, 2018 3:58 pm
Mantra draws his rapier and goes over to Momo Remember the goblins that the orc was talking about?
We think that the tree was put across the road on purpose in order for us to stop so the goblins can ambush us
he whispers.

OOC:
Mantra gains an Inspiration token, that was a great response to the prompt.
As soon as Davrick's feet hit the ground, a shout rings out, prompting a shower of arrows from the trees either side of the wagon. After the volley Davrick darts behind a tree (presuming he is still conscious), confident that the attackers have lost sight of him. The party can make out short, scrawny figures amidst the trees, four on either side of the road.
OOC:
for this fight I am going to simplify surprise to just having the monsters win initiative. Each PC has had two arrows fired them.
Melee distance can be reached in one round by any PC that wants to. Players can now act in any order.

The arrow slams into me, so i let it roll me off the wagon, where i drop into a crouch beside it, looking for an enemy. Spotting one in the trees i sprint towards it, closeing to so i can stick my rapier into its face.

Jace.72 your attack has hit, please roll damage. In general, please just roll both to-hit and damage together for your attacks, it helps to keep things flowing.
