Warhammer - Enemy Within **ONE SPOT OPEN**

I've been toying with the idea of running The Enemy Within Campaign, the classic Warhammer campaign from the 80's. This will be a long haul but it's worth it. Likely to start early January. Register interest here.

It's definitely fun. I think we played it over 2 years.

I'd be up for playing but will caveat it with the fact that I’ve played at least a bit of that campaign before (was 10+ years ago though and I can’t remember a massive amount). We talking 1st edition WFRP?

Just studied second edition recently, I'd prefer playing that, but of course I could dig into the 1st edition as well. Got hyped about the lore in the last few weeks/months/world collapses.

I have been itching to play 2nd edition for a while, but am not familiar with differences between 1st and 2nd editions WFRP. I do not own 1st edition rulebook, so can someone tell me more about differences between editions?

but essentially characters advance stats 5% instead of 10% when levelling and the magic system changed.

As mentioned in the threads though, Warhammer is more about setting and less about mechanics and for my money, The Enemy Within is one of the best campaigns I've run (and I own it all, even the incredibly rare Empire in Flames.)

I'm tempted, and I have the PDF of the 1st edition, but this would be a new foray for me.

Im more than happy to open up for you matey! I intend to be moving along at a decent pace so regular posting from all. Go ahead and roll something up and post it to a custom sheet, using first ed, no character pack.

Are you missing any particular character types that'll help? Wasn't thinking of academic! :)

Right now we have mercenary, bounty hunter, pedlar, alchemists apprentice and soldier. I’m using Realms of Sorvery so academics have better potential, but no pressure.

Not sure how the Realms of Sorcery works...? Are the Wizard's Apprentice spells any better? Busy rolling some characteristics at the moment so will get some stats done... :)

OK I have two slots available if anyone wants to play this old school warhammer. We're approaching the end of the second part and new players can be slotted in fairly easily. No experience required but I'm really looking for active players who would like a long form campaign.

I am active. I know nothing of the system at all but learning new games is one of the reasons I joined GP.

lol, I meant the 1st edition where they're killing a bunch of goblins. But I'd be interested. Even though I moved on from the Warhammer RPG system I continued to set all my D&D 3.5/Pathfinder games in the Warhammer setting.
To this day, I still don't know. That dude on the right with the fireball.
