Planning the Heist

This is a thread for you to discuss thoughts and plans on stealing the orb.

I've always preferred planning to happen in character but I can deal with this.

What we know:
-lavish party that we need to get clothes for
-the orb we're looking for will be on display and heavily guarded
-no weapons big enough to be obvious and no armor
-our rogue is MIA and one of our fighters is a simpleton

Edit: now that I have it down on paper, Mantra is probably thinking this is pretty hopeless.

I also prefer that and you are welcome to play it out in the Gameplay thread, this is just a precaution to keep the Gameplay thread from getting too cluttered with OOC talk.

Yeah, I personally prefer OOC threads for a good bit of the 'meta' talk. In that way, it's easier to have the gameplay thread get to the point when characters begin discussing it in game.

I didn't see the character sheet for Petrev, but if he is the charismatic type, too, then perhaps the game plan is to social-engineer this thing. Also, we've been given description about the party itself and the orb while on display. However, we could also consider recon for replacing it during party set up or after the party is winding down. The only thing that we know for sure is that the obvious path is the most difficult one. That's to be expected.

sorry got slammed at work since it is right before the holiday season and retailers are freaking out, it is quieting down i will be more active. I always like to think ahead of what the plan would be even tho know it never plays out like that in D&D 1 dice roll changes everything.

I have 2 thoughts what would people think about these 2

1.something like the bar, you all cause a distraction and i sneak back and swap it out while people arent looking

2.i ride on momo's back under his shirt (make him look like he has a hunchback) and have him back up to it and reach out to swap it.

those are if everything falls into place

I'll go with whatever actions the group prefers, but I'd advise against the assumption that the orb can be swiped by a simple sleight of hand check.

Whatever the realization of the job once the party starts, the best course of action right now is to recon the location and the host's plans while we have the time.

A scroll of silent image would be a boon.
