So, I've been on here for a while and seeing that some others who have been around for a bit are getting to introducing themselves (looking at you, Asako_Soh), figured I would do a bit of that myself.

I go by Névtelen Személy on the interwebs, which is really bad Hungarian for 'anonymous person'. I also tend to name my characters using questionably translated Hungarian. So while Utazó Véd may sound like a cool ass name for a character, it's really just a bad translation of the words 'traveller' and 'protect'.

Anyhow, my experience with RPGs is actually quite limited. I first played D&D in '81 or '82 (the version pictured above) with my mom and my brothers and then moved onto AD&D with some friends. Quit all of it when I was in high school and didn't even think about RPGs again until a few years ago when I friend wanted to play some Call of Cthulhu. Ran a couple of games of that and put it all back on the shelf.

It really wasn't until late last year when I heard about this game called Numenera that my interest in RPGs started up again. Went a little nuts, bought more than I'll probably ever play, but it's been fun. Not really having any locals to play with, finding this place has been awesome.

Well, as you've been about and we've had a chance to talk a few times, nothing more to say than a belated welcome szemely :)

Oh hey, you're a person now, complete with a thread that says you're just as anonymous as before :) good times!

Agreed, it does tend to suck when you don't have local interest in gaming the way you want to, but thank goodness for the internets!

Hello there, we have nice 3 common games of Numenera running :), good to have fellow Numenera lovers in the "interwebs". The local situation of me is same - not much people are interested in table-top, and even less in non-classical settings like Numenera.

Hi - though we also 'know' each other from games we're playing. I got as far as Googling Személy, and I like your (pseudo?-)Hungarian names. At the moment my family's favourite word is Kürtőskalács, which is the name of a newly-opened Hungarian bakery near us which makes the eponymous pastry. Hungarian just looks and sounds awesome, hey?

I love the fact you can play all different games on this site, Numenera included! I was also feeling a bit sad a while back that I'd never get to play D&D 4e (admittedly as I ran away screaming the first time), but now I'm loving a 4e game I'm in here.

Used to have a Hungarian bakery close to where I grew up. Awesome stuff!!

One of the lucky ones that had a RPG friendly parent. That's nice to hear. Though maybe my having parents that frowned on the hobby made it that much more enticing. Pleasure to make your acquaintaince, Szemely.
