Rolls

Stealth (reroll) - (1d20+7)

(14) + 7 = 21

Jan 4, 2018 11:26 pm
Ryn looks around at the streets looking for any obvious place where the Burgomaster would live.
"Well I guess we're here, does anybody see where we need to go to start this off?"
OOC:
Do we see any obvious manner house/castle/city hall from where we are?

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+3)

(9) + 3 = 12

Wil: Wil easily scales the building and stealthily clings to a rooftop.

Ryn: From where Ryn is standing, he doesn't see anything that looks special beyond the manor house the children are in front of. Even that doesn't seem to be the place for a mayor to be.
Jan 5, 2018 12:04 am
Wil gets a look at the children from behind as well as the manor house from the side. The house, unfortunately, seems too bare and tall to jump on top of from the other buildings.

Baroth walks up to the children and calls for their attention. Hi there. I mean you no harm. Where are your parents? Why is he so sad? Baroth motions to the little boy. He is adressing his questions to the older girl. Why is this place so quite and the streets so empty? It is mid day and it looks as tho it is night out here. Baroth has a look of concern on his face.
Jan 5, 2018 1:26 am
After shushing the boy, the girl turns to Baroth and says, There’s a monster in our house! She then points to a tall brick row house that has seen better days. Its windows are dark. It has a gated portico on the ground floor, and the rusty gate is slightly ajar. The houses on either side are abandoned, their windows and doors boarded up.
Jan 5, 2018 2:51 am
As they passed through the gate Greymond goes out of his way as they pass through to place a hand on one of the statues heads and drag his fingers across in a strange sort of respect.

As they traveled on and the caravan left. Not sure, maybe they just wanted to rest at their campsite. It does seem a little ominous though doesn't it?
OOC:
Would you like for me to roll to see if I hear or see the children?
Jan 5, 2018 3:14 am
OOC:
I don't think it would be necessary. I like to assume you guys alert each other to what you see with perception checks.
Jan 5, 2018 3:34 am
What does this monster look like? Baroth says as he get ready to go inside the house. Looking between the kids and the open door of the house. where are your parents?
Jan 5, 2018 3:46 am
I don't know what it looks like but it makes loud noises from the basement. Our parents keep it in but they went away. The girl says, seeming exhausted and broken-hearted I'm Rose and this is Thorn. The young boy starts a sentence that devolves into more sobbing. Walter.... The girl explains. Our baby brother is in there! Please make the monster go away.
Jan 5, 2018 5:25 am
Greymond nervously approaches the children behind Baroth and listens to the exchange. Your parents keep a monster locked in the basement? That doesn't seem very safe now does it? Where have they gone? Greymond walks halfway between the kids and the house leaving the safety of Baroth's legs.
OOC:
Listening for sounds coming from the house or anything out of the ordinary.

Rolls

Investigation Check - (1D20+4)

(1) + 4 = 5

Jan 5, 2018 5:55 am
Baroth feels the presents of the dwarf and looks to the other visable member of the party. So who would like to join me for a quick look around the house? Following Greymond, Baroth clutches his holy symbol of Bahamut and casts Divine sense.
Jan 5, 2018 6:18 am
Graymond hears nothing but eerie silence. We don't know where they are. The girl says.

Baroth picks up nothing with his Divine Sense.
Jan 5, 2018 4:32 pm
Wil gets down off the building carefully, walks up to Baroth, and says, I'm with you. Girl, any clues about these monsters that you can tell us before we enter?

He draws his shortsword.
Jan 5, 2018 4:48 pm
Ryn bent down towards the children to ask a question... "How long have your parents been gone? What kind of noises does the monster make?" Ryn stands and turns to Baroth, " If you are thinking of going in, we might want to find some sort of authority here first. We don't know the rules or customs here and I'm not sure I'm fully comfortable going into a strange house because of a child's fantasy of monsters stored in the basement."
Jan 5, 2018 5:03 pm
They've been gone a long time. The girl says to Ryn. It makes howls. Like the wolves but worse! Please, help us! Help our baby brother!
Jan 5, 2018 6:09 pm
Oh Ryn, to hell with their customs! Get inside already.

Wil stealthily opens the door to the manor, attempting to notice any sounds as described by the girl.

A wrought iron gate with hinges on one side and a lock on the other fills the archway of a stone portico. It is unlocked and begins to shriek as Wil opens it which he reacts to, opening it slowly so it reduces to an imperceptible squeak. Oil lanterns hang from the ceiling, flanking a set of oaken doors.
