As you move ahead under the bridge you can see the path continues upwards to the east and then turns slightly southward as the stream source can be observed. It appears to be a rudimentary dam structure that overflows into what is the streambed along the path. The waterfall sound increases as you move up the path but you definitely here the muffled sound of a few creature talking around the bend. You can't make out the numbers or what they are however.

Leylin returns to his companions and describes everything that he has seen or heard.

"So, to the left or to the right?"
Feb 7, 2018 11:47 pm
OOC:
Kuroi: am I correct in assuming left means up the steep slope with loose gravel and right means just past the damn where the creatures are talking?
Sariel prefers the head-on approach rather than risk skulking around in the dark.

"I'd hate for our human counterparts to have to climb up a steep slope without sure footing in the dark. I think it's best that we go around the corner to the right, light torches at the last second and strike down whatever's making noise up ahead. If we take them out quietly, great. If not, we'll be kicking the hornet's nest but we'll have a clear path along the stream behind us if we need to retreat."

"We have also that passageway behind the wolves. Also, we can try to make do with this.", and Leylin takes two candles from his backpack and offers them to Amaris and Rymente. "They aren't as bright as torches, but should provide some light source for you two."
Feb 8, 2018 5:37 pm
"If you ask me, I don't like the chimney behind the wolves. If we have to retreat and the wolves are done their snack, we might have to fight our way out. Also for our human friends, they either have to climb the 30 foot chimney blind or climb it with a candle in one hand. If we go that route, we can kill " - she looks at Rymente - " or, even better, free the wolves first, but the chimney seems like an unnecessary risk to me."

"I've spoken my piece. I think storming up the path is the way to go. What do you all think? Leylin? Amaris? Rymente?"
Feb 8, 2018 6:04 pm
If we can get some light, somehow, I am an expert climber. I say, shrugging my shoulders. I'd rather not kill the animals if we do not have too. They haven't done anything wrong.

OOC:
Rymente, do you have any input as to how to move forward? Up the chimney past the wolves, down the path to the left or the path to the right towards the waterfall and voices
Feb 9, 2018 10:18 pm
"I think you talk too much. There is something talking up ahead, that is where you go; it isn't that hard." Rymente walks down the tunnel, going towards the bridge.

OOC:
Did Rymente took a candle?

OOC:
Let's see... Nope, he's walking blind, haha.

Seeing that Rymente is walking into the darkness Leylin sighs and tosses one of the candles to Amaris. Next second he lits up second candle and catching to Rymente, offers it to him.

"Take it."
Feb 10, 2018 5:27 am
Rymente blows out the candle "And let them know we are coming? I don't need sight to see; the cave wall and voices ahead are enough to guide me."
Feb 10, 2018 1:47 pm
Leylin shruggs and puts the candle away while waiting for rest of the party to catch up to them.

Sariel feels comfortable with the plan and readies herself for battle, checking her shield and drawing her sword. When they get to the top of the path she hands a torch to Rymente and Amarais.

"Unless you plan on fighting in the dark as well," she whispers. "Your call."

She gives Rymente and Amaris a moment to make their decision about the torch, and then gives Leylin a nod.

"Good hunting" she whispers in Elven to him, then charges up the stairs attempting to take the group at the top by surprise.

I take the torch. I look to Rymente, Ill give you 75 seconds to get a lead then I’ll follow. If they detect my torch and come, get close to the wall and let them move past you.

Rymente gives a nod of understanding to Amaris and follows in the dark, using the wall as a guide.

You inch your way carefully up the path in the darkness towards the sound of the waterfall. Amaris in the rear holding the unlit torch. When you cross under the bridge you all stop. Using silent signals Leylin,Sauriel and Rymente continue forward as Amaris begins a countdown in his head to light the torch and continue forward himself.

As you reach the top of the steps the path opens to a cavern half filled with two pools of water. A narrow waterfall high in the eastern wall feeds the pool, which drains out the western end of the chamber to form the stream that flows out of the cave mouth below. Low fieldstone walls serve as a dam holding the water in. A wide exit stands to the south while another smaller path leads west. The sound of the waterfall echoes through the cavern making it difficult to hear.

You see 3 Goblins standing guard by the pools of water. They don’t seem to notice you.
OOC:
moving forward I will just make Iniative rolls for everyone for the sake of time and then post Iniative Order at the same time.
