Hey everyone,

I want to run sumthin creepie. Putting feelers out for interested players! Systems I’m open to running are CoC 7E (or 6E, I guess lol), Delta Green, and Trail of Cthulhu. Open to different settings - Would love to see how much and what sort of interest is out there for investigative horror.

I don't have any experience with those systems, but I'm really into the "sumthin creepie" feel. Let me know if you need a noob.

I currently have 4 Cthulhu 7e games running and I know Lunitar just started one , so lots of players interested but not sure if it’s hit saturation point yet!

Do you generally run published scenarios or original material? I’d also always be down to play as an investigator in the future, assuming it’s not published material that I’m overly familiar with. What are you running at the moment, out of curiosity?

Ever here of something called De Profundis, lovecraftian first person letters goodness?

Yes, but never tried it. It’s always sounded super interesting, and I’d definitely be game to give it the ol’ college try. Do you have a copy of the sourcebook?

Yes I do in PDF.
I actually wound up finding it without too much trouble and read the whole sourcebook through last night. Thanks for the pointer - I definitely want to get some friends into some letter writing with this. Have you ever actually attempted it?

I'm gonna bump this rather than start a whole new thread. Walker, I'd be happy to include you in a game if you're still interested. Noobs are always welcome.

I'd be looking for anywhere between 2 and 4 players total. I'm relatively flexible with setting and tone (within the bounds of horror) but there are sort of three big narrative conceits I'm interested in:
-cops/PIs in the 20s or 30s (gothic noir horror)
-high school students in the 80s or 90s (spielberg/carpenter/king sci fi horror), or
-law enforcement like cops, staties, feds, etc in present day (x files but with better internet and cell phones, also mulder dies a lot)

Of course, if people are looking for "classic Call of Cthulhu", I'm always happy to run a game like that. But that sort of "classic" setting is what I have the most experience with, and PBP seems like a great opportunity for Keepers to play test new ideas. So that's where I'm at.

I keep being told that there are people here interested in CoC, and I'd love for y'all to show your faces :)

I don't really have much experience with high school, having been homeschooled until college, but X Files or Gothic Noir are both equally exciting to me. Forgive my learning curve in advance though.

Given you an Ooc shoutout in all my Cthulhu games, in case they’re not watch8ng the Tavern.

Hi I’m from knifes ooc, and haven’t been watching games tavern! I’d be interested in playing either the 20s gothic or the law enforcement Irish one (could I suggest SCP agents as I’m having a blast reading through there archives at the moment). I’m reasonably familiar with CoC but at the moment might be a bit ittermjtent (probably no longer then 2 days without posting). Hopefully that will clear up soon though.

SCP is one of my fave things on the internet :) Glad to see you're interested. Not sure where you got Irish, or if that was a typo. I probably won't be running any long term games set in Ireland (no offense to any of my Irish friends here, just not a setting I have literally any familiarity with lol). But cool - I think we could get started on a law enforcement game with as few as two players aside from myself, but I'm gonna give it a couple more days to see if anyone else pops in just in case. I'll def let you know once I form a game, Genisis.

The Irish came from autocorrect taking the -ish suffix and trying to do something with it...

I would definitely be interested.
