Silver.hawk says:
I’m assuming I’m starting at lvl 4 correct? What kind of equipment will I start with?
You'll start at level 4, with standard starting equipment.

The rest of the party is currently level 3, but close to level 4. I'll figure out how to fit you in after the current battle.

Review of Araaz Syl'a Var'ran, Half-elf Monk 2/Cleric 2
- Which background did you use, Silver.Hawk? I don't know what you used for "Custom"
- Prepared spells: one of your prepared spells is level 2, but you can't cast level 2 spells yet
- you don't get skill proficiencies from the second class when you multiclass, but you forgot the two half-elf skill profs, so it works out.
- check the boxes by Strength and Dexterity as monks are proficient in those saving throws. (Note: You won't get additional saving throw proficiencies when multiclassing.)
- I find it handy to use a feat/skill title to track expendable resources, such as "Ki points: 2/2" and "spell slots, lvl 1: 3/3". Others use the Notes box or the Spell box, but they should be tracked somewhere.

Once you identify the Backgrounds, and make the other changes, let me know and I'll review the character again.

Sorry, I didnt see your last post. I made my own background. It says I can in the Phb? I’ll change my prepared spells, I forgot that I don’t get lvl 2 spells til cleric lvl 3. With the skill profs, I should only have 4 then? 2 from monk and 2 from background/race? I thought I might have had too many after I had selected them all.

I’m updating based on your comments now.

Quote from Phb:
You might want to tweak some of the features of a background so it better fits your character or the campaign setting. To customize
a background, you can replace one feature with any other one, choose any two skills, and choose a total of two tool proficiencies or languages from the sample backgrounds.

I chose the shelter of the faithful from the acolyte Background, Perception and Medicine proficiencies for skills, and Herbalism kit and Tinkers tools for tool proficiencies/languages.

- Okay, so you made your own background, that's fine, but you didn't tell me anywhere what you did, other than the skill profs.
- as stated in my review of your skill profs, you get two from half Elf, two from monk, two from the background. The only problem was you listed two of them on your character sheet as coming from cleric instead of half-elf

Ok. Updates:
- fixed my prepared spells list
- added a tab under spells for ki/spell stuff
- fixed my skill proficiencies and added those notes to my proficiencies tab

Also, what about feats? Since I’m lvl 4 I need to either add stat points or pick a feat.

Feats are open, if you see one you like.

I was thinking warcaster since several cleric spells Ill be using are concentration.

Also, with my domain spells I picked identify which requires a pearl worth 100Gp. Will I need to get that during my adventures or would I have gotten it as part of my backstory?

Warcaster looks great. I'll let you have the pearl for free.

Note that you're only a second level cleric so you don't get the third level domain spells yet.

Awesome thx! I’ll edit my domain spells so that I don’t forget.

Yar to starting gear only.

For your stats, the second 13 should be a 12, I think.

I'll review Berci, and double check Araaz. I'm hoping the current combat should wind up in a couple days, and then we can slot you in to the ongoing adventure. I'll send you each some private notes with the background info you'll need to fit in.

Fair weather travellers, I hope the roads haven’t been to hard for you.

Berci Lak looks great.

Did you two want to jump in to the game now? If you're ready, post here and we'll get you set up, including your background knowledge.

This is what me and silver hawk came up with:

Since Araaz isn?t very experienced with the outside world, how about I meet a group of men on the road and assume the best of them but then they turn out to be bandits and jump me. I am able to subdue/incapacitate most of them but a few run off with most of my belongings. I took some damage during the fight and am unable to pursue them. You observe the encounter but aren?t in a a position to help me. Your temper is running hot but you don?t know what to do to help. Seeing the last few run off with my stuff, your temper gets the better of you and you chase them, kill them, and retrieve my stuff before returning to me. You give back my belongings and you notice that I seem to be much calmer than most would be. I explain that I was raised and trained to be calm and control my emotions and it intrigues you enough to ask me to help with your temper. You also point out that traveling together is safer than going alone. I acquiesce and we go from there.
