As we get set up with our characters I figured it would be a good time to go over some rules for the game.

When posting please try to stick to the following key

Normal text for regular description
Bold for dialogue
Green text for quick ooc questions or comments, anything longer stick in the ooc thread
red for action
blue for stats (usually used by me to let you know when its time to make a change to your character sheet (hp for instance))
Purple will be used by me to give instructions to players for when it calls for it (like used in the original post) but otherwise follows the same rule as orange+any other color not listed
other colored text as you deem necessary (telepathy for instance). Please keep it consistent when you do use it.

This group is big (8 people) which means things will take time to progress. Likely what will happen is two groups of smaller amounts running concurrently with everyone coming together for big moments or important moments. Generally speaking if theres more than 6 active players this will be how things are ran going forward. There will also be periods when everyone's back at camp/town where we will take a week for everyone to have a bit of a break and to give people the opportunity to step away for awhile or come back. I'll announce when that moment happens. This doesn't mean you cant roleplay though! A thread will be put up for those that want to continue in town or in camp for side stuff.

Now, there may be a time when you know you will be away from the game to deal with life stuff. If possible, please give me advance notice. A good advantage with the group being so big is that as long as you let me know, i wont kick you out of the game or anything like that. Your character will just be assumed to have left back for town/camp and will be made available the next time the group(s) go out.

That being said, when active, I do expect everyone to post 3-5 times a week. 3 times a week right before you go to bed even is even acceptable, just make sure to be somewhat active so the game moves along.

My gm style is fair. I love seeing moments of great role playing and its what makes this enjoyable for me. I dont consider myself adversarial to you guys as players and seek out to OSK you since frankly thats not enjoyable for anyone. I however do consider 1's and other tactical fumbles as another way to enhance the story that's going on so don't expect me to pull punches when those situations do arise. That being said my aim here to to create as best of a game experience as possible. Along the way if you have questions or suggestions on the way im running the game feel free to bring them up in the ooc thread. Im open to criticism and making the game better for everyone.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to let me know! Until then I cant wait for us to begin!

Just so everyone knows I'll be trying the Into the Wild Unearthed Arcana that has been recently released. I dont know if I intend to keep it forever but know atleast for awhile it will be the system in place.

That means when adventuring, you must, or if in a group one must roll a survival check to see whether or not you're going in the right direction.

My caveat im adding to this rule is the frequent travel to specific places wont require a roll, as being capable adventurers one would know the path they take to an area after a few times. Some things though, like perhaps bad weather, may still require a roll, or make some rolls harder for an example.
