Wise and might DM, would it be reasonable, being a forge cleric, that Thorven has used his "Blessing of the Forge" ability prior to coming here? I feel like he would be prepared no matter what is expected and have his weapon enhanced pretty much always.

Yes I'd say upon seeing the dragon attack on the town anyone would perform preparatory things on their way to town.

I noticed the initiative modifier on my sheet is wrong. No need to change anything but I have corrected it.

Wow, thank merlin for saying that- it made me double check and notice I forgot to fill out the initiative modifier in my sheet, from 0 to 4,

Make sure you all double check the roster status page I posted in the other thread to make sure I am listing accurate info because I reference that more often than your sheets for quick information.

Yeah, sorry I try to keep the story moving whenever possible...RPwise if people dont post I dont wish for the game to a screeching halt...I'm just making the grand assumption that the character is just currently not very talkative. Unless of course a direct question has been made or waiting on an action in combat I will generally try to push gently.

May I post Actaeons action even though we're technically waiting on Varl?

I don’t do Iniative in hard order like that. I basically roll geoup Iniative. The npcs fell next to each other so basically everyone can take there next action first come first serve. Once everyone has gone I will run the kobolds then the commoners then everyone can go first come first served.

If the rolls had come out differently and the kobolds were split by say Harold and Carl then it would theoretically go kobolds go, Harold and Carl first come first serve, the commoners go, then the rest would go first come first serve and back to the Kobolds. I’ve found that and the combination of me just rolling Iniative for everyone at one time has sped up combat a decent amount.

Short answer is you are up and you may go at anytime you are ready!

All good ...nice crit but as an FYI for crits I just double the rolled dice and add the modifiers. That way extra rolls don’t need to be made.

Sorry, I've had a very unexpectedly busy few days.

Jabberwacky and Fluglichkeiten have both been inactive on the site for over 2 weeks so I am going to move forward with replacing them...I will work the new characters in as organically as possible.

Hey guys, just a sidenote. A few of my players from my game have gone inactive, and I vowed to keep my game alive because everything about the world and the lore, including a detailed map is all homemade. It's something I want to keep going forever because I'm passionate about this world I created. If any of you are interested, just shoot me a PM. BTW in the world, magic is illegal- so if you're not comfortable with that, then there's a warning.

This campaign is brutal. I don’t think I’ve ever known first level characters have so many encounters without a rest. I blew my lay on hands on an npc and breathed fire in the first encounter and boy am I regretting it now. But having said that I’m having fun, so what the heck.

It is a bit stressful, but I am loving the amount of combat. I just hope to get some relief. Harold only has 3 HP right now!!!

Yes this first chapter is a lesson in attrition. I just finished it up with the other group I’m running this campaign for.

It is with deep regret that I must bow out from the game. Real Life has reared its ugly head and no longer affords me the time to game. Hopefully in the future that will change and our gaming paths will cross once more. Until then, Have fun and happy gaming.

Ladies and gentlemen, sometimes real life has a different plan for us. When I jumped on board with this game just about two short months ago, I had some room in my life for extra escapism; that means even beyond the two PbP games I run, MtG, and the tabletop club I run here in my hometown. However, very quickly and unexpectedly, I changed careers, moving from a teacher mentor job to a school counselling career. To add to all this, the local university has hired me on as a part-time lecturer. I will be teaching BEd students the skills and knowledge of teaching elementary mathematics. These are things I am passionate about and I really want to do.

Alas, I am having to drop the games in which I was a player in order to (maybe) hang onto the games I run. However, even there, I think you can see that there is a risk of having to drop even more of my wonderful escapism.

I am truly sorry to leave this game. I was enjoying playing Rabal and I was interested in developing his character even fuller. Perhaps I'll have a chance to work with the shaman/druid again in another version of reality.

Yeah, it sucks. I was planning all my life to serve a full 20 years, and now I have to completely figure out a new plan for my life. However, it's nice to be home. Basic was hell. Time to get back into the wonderful world of DnD.

Welcome back and yes of course you can jump back in...we are wrapping up the current encounter and will be moving forward shortly. I will admit my posting schedule has greatly reduced due to recent life events and workload but hopefully after the new year things will calm down a bit.

I absolutely hate that I have to write this but I'm afraid I need to go on hiatus for an indeterminite amount of time. My work life has simply become too demanding for me to perform the level of work that I need to as well as provide my family the love and attention they require. As a result of those demands, the gamersplane emails have morphed into another form of stress as it feels like another "task" I need to accomplish during the course of the week instead of something I look forward to as it once was not 6 months ago. I love this community and the people I have met here. Great creative people.

I hope that somehow my workload can be reduced in the future so that I can return in some capacity, but I have been kidding myself for the past several months as my games have drug on and on as my posting rate has steadily declined. My apologies to my players as I have had so much fun dm'ing and guiding these stories. As well to my DM's who done the same for me.

It has been a wonderful year and a half and wish you all the best!

I will leave the game open should I return in the near future and anyone still has any interest in continuing at that time.
