• Other material subject to GM approval.
• 1st level.
• Point buy or 4d6 dropping lowest.
• Make your characters come from the same town, neighboring town, or general surroundings.

Your answers are only a question away.

Let's see how the rolls behave tonight....

15, 14, 14, 13, 12, 10

Well, that's a pleasant surprise!

4d6 - ( 3, 5, 2, 1 ) = 11-1=10

4d6 - ( 5, 3, 4, 1 ) = 13-1=12

4d6 - ( 1, 2, 5, 6 ) = 14-1=13

4d6 - ( 4, 5, 4, 6 ) = 19-4=15

4d6 - ( 4, 5, 5, 3 ) = 17-3=14

4d6 - ( 4, 4, 5, 5 ) = 18-4=14

I like rolling, even when it gives me anxiety.

Edit: 18, 13, 11, 16, 11, 13

I'm thinking of playing as a Cleric of the Forge Domain (from Xanathar's Guide to Everything).

I think I'm going with a halfling bard. Likely headed the Lore path, with the Anthropologist background from Tomb of Annihilation, if that is ok. :)

Roll 'em!

Ha! 14, 10, 13, 18, 8, 17!

What to play, what to play?

Dunno what yet, but probably dipping into Volo's and Xanathar's.

I have both Xanathar's so anything from those are fine.

I don't own Volo's or ToA, so while those are officially published, I'd like a heads up before I approve. That said, Anthropologist looks fine by me.

This is the world map, you will be starting in the lower left of 'The Holy Plains' just above 'Meese Island', in the town of Oceatree (Oh-say-ah tree). As stated before, you do not need to be from here but this is where you will be when we begin. If you don't live in Oceatree, come up with a reason—any will do, it can be as simple or detailed as you like—as to why you are there.

Feeling like a Tabaxi Monk if allowed.

So for Kithri, in general she's the middle child of a brood of halflings. She has a twin sister that she would play Adventurers with as a kid, doing odd jobs for other villagers in their home village. My thought is that she and her sister fell in with some adventurers around the time they came of age and that's what set her on her path. During their roaming of the world with the adventurers, she encountered other races and groups and such and made it a hobby to study them. She learned their songs and means of celebration and their mythologies. For almost a decade she traveled with the group, picking up all kinds of useful information, skills, and trinkets. The band she was with dissolved after a few years as the humans that formed most of the core of the group were getting older and wanting to retire. She found herself groupless and directionless. She parlayed her knowledge of all kinds of groups into storytelling in inns and taverns to make coin, until she ran into a proper bard that recognized her ability and invited her into a bardic college for refined study.

As part of her College studies, she's currently wandering the world and has ended up in Oceatree.

Or something like that, if it works with the demographics and what not of your world. :)

Whoa, I thought your book was ripped for a second. Tabaxi looks fine, I will say though: they are not relative to any of the places on the map I provided. You would most likely come from a different land mass across the Heartfill Sea and be the only Tabaxi encountered, unless specified you brought others.

@Drama, That sounds perfect. My world is pretty open; I supply the lines, you guys are free to color as you like.

I've submitted a Hill Dwarf Cleric of the Forge Domain, named Wendealynn Urchardan-Baran. She has the Clan Crafter background from Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, and I'd like to swap one selection of Smith's Tools with Carpenter's Tools if that's possible (one from being a Forge Cleric and one from being a Dwarf), while taking Tinker's Tools from the background.

She learned her skills in the forges of her homeland, where the hymnals of Moradin were set to the beat of hammers upon anvils and the litanies invoked in the rhythmic rhyme of the bellows and bursts of fire. However, Wendealynn wasn't much for the vestments of dogma, opting to strengthen her connection to Moradin through constant workmanship. Better to exemplify the All-Father with the physical results from dedicated effort; each sword, shield, and even nail and horseshoe demonstrate his principles more than grand orations.

I'd like to establish her in Oceatree as a blacksmith. Whether the smithy is also a store is up to the DM, but Wendealynn is only interested in the craft and would leave business transactions to other people. She has a practical outlook on life and the clergy, and spends little time proselytizing to the townsfolk. Instead, her efforts are devoted to the forge, and any spiritual assistance the residents need is considered an as-needed venture. Wendealynn is straightforward and sensible, though her words can be as blunt as her hammer.

Personality Trait: I'm rude to people who lack my commitment to hard work and fair play.
Ideal: Aspiration. I work hard to be the best there is at my craft.
Bond: The forge where I work and the workshop where I learned my trade are the most important places in the world to me.
Flaw: I have little respect for anyone who isn't a craftsman, or those who don't get involved in physical labor.

Wendealynn and my lazy-ass tabaxi are gonna get along great!!! :-D

Oceatree is a large city, so you have the choice of three blacksmiths:
[ +- ] The Arpen Forge
[ +- ] The Jealous Jester Smithy
[ +- ] Firedrake Blacksmith
I think Wendealynn is best fit at the Jealous Jester or the Firedrake.

Thanks for the references. Does the firedrake speak its own language, such as draconic? I have a third language option that I haven't selected, so I'd like to pick either that or Elvish and work for the Jester.
Mar 8, 2018 11:18 pm
Bingo. It does speak draconic. I don't know how willing Thjorni and Ragne would be teaching her their shared tongue. So if she didn't learn it elsewhere, I'd go for the Jester.

Got it. Wendealynne will have Elvish as a third language and work at the Jester.

Hello all, familiar and un familiar faces. As much as I love rolling irl, GP does not treat me well so I will point buy.
I have a "noncombatant" actor background character that in never got to play. She is a social manipulator, forger, charm person type. How would this fit in?
I am also currently loving celestial warlock these days so would be happy to provide some healing and ranged attack if that is better for the team.

So far the party has a bard and a cleric so, at face value, the face and healing are covered. That said though, I don't know how Drama and CM are going to play them and can do a complete 180 and be a cleric with no healing spells or a bard that is afraid of talking. Now that said, don't feel like you need to fill any missing links—if you feel like you'd enjoy playing one thing more than the space that needs filled, go for it. As someone with a few characters that make combat their second option, I really enjoy them and always welcome them.
