Character Creation:

My suggestion would be that Rondezvue is a part of the same house as the current NPC rogue trader but you've acquired your own warrant and can strike out on your own. The NPC rogue trader (who is your cousin or something) saw fit to "gift" you a couple people he believes would serve you well - that being Kuros and Val. (Or maybe he just wanted Kuros and Val off his ship because we're a couple of f-ups! Haha!)

My current planned backstory for the character is a former inquisitor who fell into some accusations of heresy. Her methods though were undeniably effective so instead of summery execution she was offered a warrant and told not to come back. I’m not quite sure what happened between now and then, but depending on the GMs thoughts I suspect she got marooned on wherever this place is...

Do you want to have your own ship? If so, I say go for it! Nothing says Rogue Trader more than having your own ship! I'm sure there's some way to fit it into the current story... Assuming the GM is OK with it of course...

Hello all! I've just joined the game, and I'm looking at what I could play as. From what I can tell so far, you have a Rogue Trader, Explorator, Voidmaster and Arch-Militant, is that right? What gaps need filling? I could pick up as a scheming Seneschal perhaps, or a pyromanic Missionary, it depends on where I would be most useful.

I'd say either would be fine. If you're up for it, a character with some psychic powers would be great as well, like an astropath or a navigator. The Transubstantial Initiate Astropath rank is worth considering if you're up for an astropath. But whichever career you prefer should be fine.

I think I may go with the Seneschal. My initial stat rolls make him a surprisingly solid combatant for the shipboard nerd (WS/St 42, Ag 45!) so I'm thinking he was a former Guard officer who retired, went into business, and then came back out to assist Mr. Ratherdashing. Do any special rules apply here? From what I can gather looking back it's standard setup with 500 earned XP, correct?

Yep no extra rules (If you use non core rulebook stuff just mention it somewhere so I can check) and 500 exp. Ronda is a woman so you may want to get that right before she court marshals you ;). Also her surname is Ragnar and I need to get that changed.

Ah, I hadn't realised that (the character sheets aren't loading for some reason), I shall bear it in mind for the future. Anyway, I have a character set up: Alessander Cornelius di Benzies-Aubray, a Seneschal with Noble Born, Savant, Duty to the Throne (Dutybound), Decadent (Product of Upbringing) and Pride. I'm just working on the finer details of character creation now. Does any of that produce any Intersections with anyone else?

Edit: would any affects I have that are meant to be applied at the start of the game (I boost the Profit Factor) still apply as I'm joining midway?

Yes we start in the same place (but split after savant). As we have only just set the profit factor I see no issue in adding your bonuses, especially if you’ve been part of my ship for a while...

Right, I know I add +1 to Profit Factor. I've added my character sheet to the game, when ought I to introduce myself? Perhaps I could come down from the ship to supervise the retrieval and ensure it's all nice and affordable?
