Chapter 5: Rook takes Knight.

Apr 3, 2018 12:01 am
The time for the meeting with your new captain approaches. Many questions remain unanswered.
Apr 5, 2018 1:03 am
Landing into hanger 248 at the appointed time the crew is met by only some of Lady Alyss’ Technicians who go about refuling and resupplying the ship, some make a half hearted attempt to repair some obvious superficial damage but lack the skills required to work with the Eldar craft. An hour goes by without any sign of this new Lord captain, as doubt starts to set in about being in the wrong place the hanger bay doors open up and a lone figure steps in. The figure clad in carapace armour of the most excellent design, still showing the signs of recently removed Inquisitorial paraphernalia, examines the crew and the ship before curse For fraks sake, he said at least the ship would be decent. It looks like the Ordo Zenos has been at it. At least it should be fast and agile by the looks of it. She seems to contemplate for a moment before proclaiming I suppose introductions are in order, I am Rondezvue Ratherdashing, and I’ll Be your captain, at least until I can find a more competent crew... Glancing across the crew her eyes settle on the tech-priest, Val right, have you produced a schematic of the ship so I can at the very least get to know the alien vessel I am to command. What is her name by the way.

Nas raises an eyebrow his dufflebag still on one shoulder as he listens and watches. Dropping his duffle and nods and introduces himself.

"Captain. Nas military liason if need be." he states with a nod.

"Greetings Lord Captain! Yes, I've studied this Eldar bomber as thoroughly as possible and I've attained an understanding of the basics. She's quite a ship, likely to outperform most standard Imperial designs.

"However, she does still possess quite a few secrets that we have yet to unlock. But don't worry Lord Captain, she'll be more than adequate to transport us up to your flagship, which I presume is already in orbit?

"As for her name, we haven't christened her just yet. So if either yourself or Kuros comes up with something, we're just referring to her as 'that Eldar bomber' for now."

"More like Hive nail..." Nas mutters under his breath.

Considering the Eldar vessel for a moment Rondezvue smiles. She is a most wicked and dangerous craft, I shall call her Belladonna, and she will make a most worthy vessel to take us up to the Solanasae, my capital ship. She turns to Nas next, I don’t remember reading about you on my crew report and you look vaguely competent are you sure your in the right place? Regardless a military liaison will be appreciated aboard my vessel as I lack on of those. Finally she addresses Kuros, You must be Kuros then, I’ve heard a lot about your short comings. Perhaps you will serve better as copilot then your records suggest you serve as a pilot. Come show me how to fly my new acquisition! The last part was delivered through a coy smile and a gleeful pressing of fingers.

Val slaps Kuros on the back and says, "You have one bad day and no one lets you forget it, eh? Don't worry buddy, first round of drinks on the new ship is on me!"

OOC:
Make a piloting roll. You can't crash but let's see how well you fly.

OOC:
Assuming Kuros is assisting that would reduce the difficulty by one, granting an effective +10 bonus which I didn’t include in the roll...
OOC:
Not that I needed it!

While still at the hanger bay...

Turning back to Rondez, Val says, "If I may suggest, I've seen Nas here in action and I believe he'd serve well as your Master of Ordnance or, alternatively, your Master-At-Arms. Kuros here, although having had a run of bad luck, would serve you well as Master Helmsman. And I submit myself for the position of Enginseer Prime."

Kuros leads you into the cockpit of your newly aquired ship. Instantly you see or rather don't see any controls or gages of what you have come to expect of ships. In fact the cockpit is entirely empty save for an imposing throne. Kuros gestures for you to sit.

Still in the hanger bay...
Well obviously you’ll be part of my bridge crew, but I’m not the navy, I expect a certain amount of fluidity among my officers. If it makes you more comfortable you can take any of those titles...
OOC:
back in the action...
Rondezvue sits in the throne with confindence, but internally braces, she suspects that this won’t be pleasant.

Needles attached to thin black cables leap out at you from both the throne and ceiling. You scream in terror as the plunge into your body. The pain is immense but over quickly. When the pain is over and you are pinned to the throne by the needles. Two much thicker needoes decent to level with your eyes. The hover mockingly in front of your eyes before sliding in. You scream as you feel them slowly penetrate your pupils. You open your eyes and instead of seeing the cockpit you feel like your looking down on top of the bomber while at the same time seeing the tip foward.

Kuros sits at the side consul as Cpt. Rendezvues screams he smiles a knowing smile. The eldar are strangely masochistic, aren't they captain!?

He looks over to Nas and gives him a salute. Sorry to introduce myself so late, was busy sleeping off the needles in the eyes. I'm Kuros the pilot and pistol whipper extraordinaire.

Well some of them certainly do, now that that’s done with let’s take to the air!
Apr 6, 2018 2:33 am
At the thought of taking off the bomber's engines roar and you jet away uncontrollably. Through Kuros' yelled instructions and sheer force of will you manage to avoid hitting the many dock hands and servitors while also staying well clear machinery that your sure was placed there will the sole purpose of killing you. After 23.23869 terrifying seconds you clear the edge of the platform and rocket into low orbit, only having 3 or 4 near crashes.

"Uhhhh...." Without another word, Val sits down and buckles his seat belt.
