Chapter 5: Rook takes Knight.

Apr 3, 2018 12:01 am
The time for the meeting with your new captain approaches. Many questions remain unanswered.
Apr 5, 2018 1:03 am
Landing into hanger 248 at the appointed time the crew is met by only some of Lady Alyss’ Technicians who go about refuling and resupplying the ship, some make a half hearted attempt to repair some obvious superficial damage but lack the skills required to work with the Eldar craft. An hour goes by without any sign of this new Lord captain, as doubt starts to set in about being in the wrong place the hanger bay doors open up and a lone figure steps in. The figure clad in carapace armour of the most excellent design, still showing the signs of recently removed Inquisitorial paraphernalia, examines the crew and the ship before curse For fraks sake, he said at least the ship would be decent. It looks like the Ordo Zenos has been at it. At least it should be fast and agile by the looks of it. She seems to contemplate for a moment before proclaiming I suppose introductions are in order, I am Rondezvue Ratherdashing, and I’ll Be your captain, at least until I can find a more competent crew... Glancing across the crew her eyes settle on the tech-priest, Val right, have you produced a schematic of the ship so I can at the very least get to know the alien vessel I am to command. What is her name by the way.

Nas raises an eyebrow his dufflebag still on one shoulder as he listens and watches. Dropping his duffle and nods and introduces himself.

"Captain. Nas military liason if need be." he states with a nod.
Apr 5, 2018 11:57 am
"Greetings Lord Captain! Yes, I've studied this Eldar bomber as thoroughly as possible and I've attained an understanding of the basics. She's quite a ship, likely to outperform most standard Imperial designs.

"However, she does still possess quite a few secrets that we have yet to unlock. But don't worry Lord Captain, she'll be more than adequate to transport us up to your flagship, which I presume is already in orbit?

"As for her name, we haven't christened her just yet. So if either yourself or Kuros comes up with something, we're just referring to her as 'that Eldar bomber' for now."

"More like Hive nail..." Nas mutters under his breath.
Apr 5, 2018 12:51 pm
Considering the Eldar vessel for a moment Rondezvue smiles. She is a most wicked and dangerous craft, I shall call her Belladonna, and she will make a most worthy vessel to take us up to the Solanasae, my capital ship. She turns to Nas next, I don’t remember reading about you on my crew report and you look vaguely competent are you sure your in the right place? Regardless a military liaison will be appreciated aboard my vessel as I lack on of those. Finally she addresses Kuros, You must be Kuros then, I’ve heard a lot about your short comings. Perhaps you will serve better as copilot then your records suggest you serve as a pilot. Come show me how to fly my new acquisition! The last part was delivered through a coy smile and a gleeful pressing of fingers.
Apr 5, 2018 1:04 pm
Val slaps Kuros on the back and says, "You have one bad day and no one lets you forget it, eh? Don't worry buddy, first round of drinks on the new ship is on me!"

OOC:
Make a piloting roll. You can't crash but let's see how well you fly.

Turning back to Rondez, Val says, "If I may suggest, I've seen Nas here in action and I believe he'd serve well as your Master of Ordnance or, alternatively, your Master-At-Arms. Kuros here, although having had a run of bad luck, would serve you well as Master Helmsman. And I submit myself for the position of Enginseer Prime."

Kuros leads you into the cockpit of your newly aquired ship. Instantly you see or rather don't see any controls or gages of what you have come to expect of ships. In fact the cockpit is entirely empty save for an imposing throne. Kuros gestures for you to sit.

Needles attached to thin black cables leap out at you from both the throne and ceiling. You scream in terror as the plunge into your body. The pain is immense but over quickly. When the pain is over and you are pinned to the throne by the needles. Two much thicker needoes decent to level with your eyes. The hover mockingly in front of your eyes before sliding in. You scream as you feel them slowly penetrate your pupils. You open your eyes and instead of seeing the cockpit you feel like your looking down on top of the bomber while at the same time seeing the tip foward.

He looks over to Nas and gives him a salute. Sorry to introduce myself so late, was busy sleeping off the needles in the eyes. I'm Kuros the pilot and pistol whipper extraordinaire.

Well some of them certainly do, now that that’s done with let’s take to the air!
Apr 6, 2018 2:33 am
At the thought of taking off the bomber's engines roar and you jet away uncontrollably. Through Kuros' yelled instructions and sheer force of will you manage to avoid hitting the many dock hands and servitors while also staying well clear machinery that your sure was placed there will the sole purpose of killing you. After 23.23869 terrifying seconds you clear the edge of the platform and rocket into low orbit, only having 3 or 4 near crashes.
Apr 6, 2018 2:39 am
"Uhhhh...." Without another word, Val sits down and buckles his seat belt.
Apr 6, 2018 2:59 am
Through the exhilaration of almost crashing the vessel Rondezvue is broadly grinning, after starting to get use to how the vessel moves its agility and responsiveness is increadible, this vessel is a fair addition to her fleet. Reaching low orbit the vessel starts steering towards a small frigate, vibrantly painted.

http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/19/18888/thumb_620x2000/firestorm.jpg

Holding her hand to her ear to activate the comm bead, Prepare a docking bay for the eldar craft inbound on your port side, I’m coming in to land with our new bridge crew. She then addresses the others in the room, Isnt she beautiful. The Solanasae is faster and more manoeuvrable then most crafts in her size category, and she slides through the warp just as quickly as real space. She relies on her forward mounted weapons primarily, her lance is capable of cutting through ships her size and even larger. A versatile weapon equipped for exploration and commerce but more then capable in a fight.

Once the vessel lands she wills the ship to release her, hoping that’s all that is required
Apr 6, 2018 10:12 am
OOC:
You can't move while piloting so you will have to use the ships internal comms to contact your capital ship.
On the deck at your thought the needles retract causing more excruciating pain.

Kuros, as Ronda gets out of the throne a voice whispers. "Why her. You alone."
Apr 6, 2018 12:08 pm
Leaning in closer to Val, Nas makes a comment, "Mmm I take it back, he is a decent pilot since he gets stabbed in the eyes to pilot this thing... I can see why we crashed so much now..."
Apr 6, 2018 12:29 pm
"Yah. This ship is an amazing piece of technology. But even I'm not insane enough to get into the pilot seat of this thing!"

Once we've disembarked, Val will also inform Rondez regarding the map we have of the fallen Imperial Knight's location, in case she thinks that is something she'd like to consider salvaging.
OOC:
I forgot to mention that Knight earlier...

Rondezvue spends the next few minutes blinking furiously as she makes her way up the her private quarters to go over the details of this find, and old imperial knight will be worth a credit or two in salvage after all, Do we have any clue where the Whispering Carins are? Rondezvue swirls the tumbler of whisky in her hand Seems to be the key to finding this wreck...
Apr 6, 2018 1:34 pm
OOC:
Does the map we recovered from Cyrek have enough details to lead us to the Whispering Cairns? If not, Val will guess that Lady Alyss can point us to the general area and the map will lead us to the specific location of the knight?
Apr 6, 2018 2:55 pm
"I have a map... Rough but it's something that might provide cursory clues." Nas explains producing the map for examination, "We would maybe need a navigator to correlate places it could be for possibility or a specialist I take it. This skillset is not in my wheel house to be honest."
OOC:
The Captain is a lady correct? But we'd still call her Sir or Ma'am... boss lady seems to informal.
Apr 6, 2018 4:11 pm
OOC:
The Whispering Carins are where you fought the Eldar and rescued Cyrek.
Apr 6, 2018 4:26 pm
Kuros and I certainly know where the Whispering Cairns is located. But be ready to encounter more Eldar. Unless they've withdrawn after the hive city assault, the Eldar had a whole compound set up within those caves. As Kuros explained to me, they were essentially a faction of Eldar slavers and torturers. They had an army of human scavengers working for them... It was those scavs that shot down Kuros' guncutter, The Poet."
Apr 7, 2018 3:12 am
My love, we must bide our time... I have a new master. Our sweet kisses must be stolen until I can prove my worth of you... Kuros thinks back to his ship.

He turns to his companions "Back to the eldar cairns? Oh it would be wonderful to see the knight in action. I played with knight dolls when I was but a wee lad." Kuros says, accidently dropping to his thick offworld accent at the end as he remembers a difficult childhood. "But I recall the pilot Cyrek saying it may need repairs. Do we have someone that can manage the servitors?"
Apr 7, 2018 4:13 am
Val coughs under his breath *AHEM* me! *AHEM*
Apr 8, 2018 2:44 am
"This one seems willing and I may assist... but considering it is more likely I will need to provide overwatch since we will not be able to extract once he starts till he is done." Nas comments showing a bit of a pessimistic nature.
Apr 8, 2018 7:33 am
Let's pull up some scematics and plan our strategy.
OOC:
What is the intel we have for this place?
Apr 8, 2018 8:15 am
OOC:
You have a little bit from memory plus a basic map and inventory list from the Auspex that Val has.
Apr 8, 2018 2:40 pm
OOC:
I don't remember the inventory list. Can you refresh my memory?
"Well, we know how to get to the general area. Then with this map, we try to pinpoint its exact location once we're there. After we find it, I'll get to work on repairing it enough so that it can move, and once that's done, we can drive it onto the Belladonna and get out of there. While I'm repairing it, Nas and Rondez provides ground overwatch while Kuros takes to the air and provides air cover if needed. How does that sound?"

Val then turns to Rondez and asks, "Do you have any guardsmen and technicians available to come assist? The guardsmen to assist if fighting breaks out and technicians to help speed up repairs. We'd also probably need whatever spare parts that are available and if all else fails, a towing vehicle that we can use to drag the knight on board the Belladonna."
Apr 8, 2018 9:11 pm
OOC:
I could be wrong about the scales but I really doubt we can fit a knight onto our little eldar bomber...
Apr 8, 2018 9:15 pm
OOC:
I thought the bomber had a large cargo bay area, but you may be right....
Apr 8, 2018 10:01 pm
We may require more then just the bomber to bring the knight back here, which means using more traditional surface to void freighters. This ship is primarily crewed by tradesmen, and though there fine for boarding actions I won’t deploy them on the ground. We don’t have and military forces aboard with the exception of my private collection of murder servitors, who I can deploy to help on the field. You can lead my technicians into the field as well, but I don’t want those men walking into a nettle field. In fact I don’t want my freighters going into the battlefield, they can touch down near by.
Apr 9, 2018 12:20 am
So we head in, clear the area, repair the unit then pull off our extraction. Kuros says with what he hopes looks like confidence.
Apr 9, 2018 4:55 am
OOC:
The Bomber has a big cargo bay as in it can fit a rhino sized vehicle in it not a super heavy walker.
The interesting items on the inventory list are:
9x Psyk-out Grenades.
26x Splinter Rifles
1x Ad Mech Galvanic Blast Rifle
1x Ork Power Klaw
2x Ork Captive
1x Myrmidon Captive
Various ordnance for the bomber
Apr 9, 2018 6:51 am
What are you taking down to the surface with you?
Apr 10, 2018 7:13 am
OOC:
We rescued a myrmidon captive? Is he/she a myrmidon as in one of those commando tech priests? Also, which book contains the stats for those grenades and rifles? Then again, if they're xeno weaponry, probably none of us has the required exotic weapons talent needed to use them.
"So aside from the Belladonna, it sounds like we'll also need a transport ship that can fit the knight. Sounds like the forward team will be us, the myrmidon, and some murder servitors. Once we've arrived and cleared the area, the transport ship should come along with whatever technicians are available. I'll lead them in doing what needs to be done to get the knight onto the transport while everyone else provides overwatch. Then we get outta there! What can go wrong?
Apr 10, 2018 7:27 am
Well now that you’ve said that an awful lot can go wrong. But with any kind of luck we should be fine.
Apr 10, 2018 7:45 am
OOC:
No the myrmidon is still captive. It is listed under the inventory list of the Dark Eldar. I don't actually know which book has it will look when I get home.
Apr 10, 2018 9:09 am
OOC:
Oh I see. That's stuff remaining at the Eldar complex. Not stuff we discovered on the Belladonna. Okay, in that case, the weapon stats aren't important unless we actually get around to recovering those items.
Val will show the Eldar inventory list to Rondez suggesting that acquiring these items would probably be profitable but perhaps of secondary value compared to the knight.
Apr 10, 2018 11:09 am
OOC:
So there are captives aboard?! Were they capturef by the eldar or us?
I say we also go and talk to the captives. They might be willing to help us in exchange for their freedom.
Apr 10, 2018 11:14 am
OOC:
I think those are captives back in the Eldar complex. The datapad we grabbed there had an inventory list of things at the compound within the caves. They are not items we found on the bomber."
Apr 10, 2018 11:40 am
OOC:
Val is correct.
Apr 10, 2018 12:14 pm
Nas nods and stays quiet for now.
Apr 11, 2018 1:16 am
"So should we head out Captain?"
OOC:
Ahhhh. OK.
Apr 11, 2018 1:19 am
This doesn’t seem like a time sensitive mission, feel free to spend some time acquainting yourself with the ship, and if you need any new equipment I’m sure we can try to requisition some.
Apr 11, 2018 4:26 am
As you are discussing your plan of action a hand to one of your Astropaths nervously pokes his head through the door. "Ah excuse me lords but my mistress wanted to inform you that the hives defense force has mobilized and appears to be heading towards the dark elder compound."
Apr 11, 2018 5:08 am
"This mission is certainly starting to feel a bit time sensitive now..." says with a wry grin.

Unless there's anything else to be said, he'll make arrangements for the technicians to be on a transport ship as well as ensure some kind of towing vehicle or apparatus is available in case we aren't able to get the knight to move under its own power. After those arrangements are made, Val will report to the Belladonna, ready for departure.
Apr 11, 2018 5:22 am
OOC:
If you can not get the knight to walk you will have to fly the transport ship to it as you have no ground towing system.
Apr 11, 2018 6:02 am
OOC:
I was thinking the transport will have to fly to the knight no matter what, but if we can't get the knight to walk into the transport ship, we'll have to tow it into the transport ship, no?
Apr 11, 2018 6:27 am
OOC:
You have a big enough ship to fit a knight inside. It won't fit anything else inside and won't fly fast.
Apr 11, 2018 6:35 am
OOC:
Okay. Val is ready to go when everyone else is!
Apr 11, 2018 1:25 pm
OOC:

With Kuros flying the Belladonna you set off. A small fleet of ships follows behind you. The journey into orbit is uneventful if not a little boring. The first thing that you see is a vast sea of imperial vehicles packed with solemn soldiers of the Imperial Army. A sleek plane of a design you have never seen before hovers slowly above.

Jetting away you see the Whispering Carins just over the horizon. As agreed you set down leaving just you to carry on.
as you reach about 10km the ships comms lights up and a voice comes through. "Bomber approach state your serial number and entry code now."

"Ha ha that's probably the best response we've got all night. Most people panic as they have no idea what to say. You're all good to land at bay 43." Laughing continues to come over the comms for almost a minute.

You touch down, stepping out the bay is chaotic as the eldar have finally seemed to notice that a horde of imperials are coming for them. Looking at the map drawn by Cyrek and comparing it to the information on the data slate you see you have two options. Go through the Eldar camp or take the longer route around the outside side of the camp.

The Eldar have fast moving ground support vehicles and the base will be well armed, if we go around the will definately be able to bombard us or intercept us, with there forces being drawn out to the field or may be possible for us to slip into the base without drawing too much heat. Val says to Nas and Kuros, "I'm sure the lord captain knows exactly what she's doing and has this well in hand... But if experience has taught Kuros and I anything, we'll want to keep our weapons close by nonetheless..."
Apr 25, 2018 5:42 pm
A pure white armoured humanoid, brandishing a huge sword with ease, steps out into the gateway. "You think we didn't come to wage war?" He says opening his arms and gesturing to inside the caverns. "We see your army coming and are looking forward to crushing it under the heel of our boots. The screams will be music to my ears and food for my soul. Then we will take your women and your children back to our home and subject them to unspeakable horrors."
Apr 25, 2018 10:09 pm
The hololith flickered slightly, the poor quality of the pict-capture device proving more than a little distracting - a fact that contributed precisely nothing to the already-limited reserves of sympathy the viewer felt for the sickly individual it portrayed. The man's face was gaunt almost to the point of starvation, hair lank and greasy, eyes staring with badly-dilated pupils that darted between the picter and an unseen point beyond. "You see, Master Aubray, I cannot make this month's payment. Trade has been bad for the hive this quarter, expected mineral gains have not been located, the flow of resources is stifled and every throne must be stretched to meet costs. I am aware of Madame Ragnar's expectations, but if I were to make the payments in full then critical services about the hive would be left unfunded. Health centres, scholae, arbitrators, we must fund these," the man paused, swallowing, the fear palpable in his eyes. The viewer rolled his in turn, but watched on. "I'm sure you must understand, Sir, and your Mistress by extension, if this quarter's payments are not made. The balance will be restored soon of course, for Madame Ragnar is a most valued contributor to our humble hive, and we are as ever thankful for your custom," the man looked definitively relieved as he gave the most cursory "Ave Imperator," and ended the pict-recording, and his viewer could well understand why. He cracked his knuckles with a satisfying pop, before activating the pict-capter on his own desk.

"Hive-Master Plennik, I have asked you before not to speak through your intermediaries. They irk me. I understand that you cannot make your payments for this quarter, of course - I see that amasec prices have tripled recently in your sub-sector, and the plantation riots on Havanar V are wreaking havoc on tabac supplies, which must be so hard for you and your fellow nobles. I'm sure you'll understand in turn if your supply shipments don't arrive this quarter. Madame Ragnar does not appreciate it when her time is wasted and respect is lacking in her customers. You will no doubt need those arbitrators when the population start asking after their grain shipments. I look forward to receiving the next set of payments, at double the previous figure. After that, we can discuss the return of your hive's food shipments. A pleasure as always," he clicked off the pict-capter, allowing his disdainful sneer to break into a broad, satisfied grin. He leaned back in his chair, reached across his desk to take up a tumbler of genuine millenial joiliq, from which he took a self-satisfied sip, and reached for his intercom control.

"Monck," he hailed his secretary outside, an earnest young man with two augmetic legs, a testament to the right sort of Guard service. "Pass on this message to Hive-Master Plennik on Castrio. See if we can't get some of our friends in the hive gangs to deliver it. Then have our supply ships sit in orbit for a week or so, really let them stew."

"Yes, sir."

Alessander Cornelius di Benzies-Aubray clicked off the intercom, took another moment to savour the happy position in which he found himself, and then leaned back into the screen of the cogitator built into his broad, neo-oak desk. The list of memos and documents for his attention was still enough to make him almost balk, and even as he watched a large set more arrived in his inbox, but he was in a good mood, one fuelled by alcohol from another millenium and the command of the sort of power lost of his old colleagues would have given one eye for, and he set to it happily.

"Let's see...bill...bill...bill...invitation to...I think not!...bill...a Kni-what?" This last document brought him up sharp. He'd been quite firm in instituting the requirement that every financial effort made involving any of Lady Ragnar's assets be filed and reported to him immediately, usually so he had plenty of warning of when he'd have to pay a visit to someone and channel his old drill abbot, Father Skott, in making his disapproval of wasteful spending quite clear. So what he hadn't expected was for Lady Ragnar herself to have quietly requisitioned the assets necessary to secure and recover a crashed Knight-Titan on the planet they orbited even now. The fuel costs for the recovery shuttle alone stretched into the hundreds of thousands of thrones, not to mention the cost of deploying the combat servitors. More money and more resources were going into this single endeavour than were being spent in whole subsectors of profitable activity. Simply put, this was an extravagance they - almost - could not afford.

Fortunately, it was merely almost unaffordable. Lady Ragnar may not have been the wealthiest Rogue Trader in the Imperium, but she still had access to resources greater than some feral worlds, and this was just another expression of their use. But one he ought to supervise personally.

He rolled his neck joints. It had been too long since he'd gone out in the field, and he really ought to 'supervise' the asset retrieval. Besides, it might be fun. Retrieving the battered old hellgun from his quarters filled him with a sense of warm nostalgia, but unlike so many deployments into hot dropzones in the back of a shaking Valkyrie, he was very pleased to make his ride down to the surface in the comfort of a grav-couch aboard one of the Solanasae's landers. He barely even noticed as the craft's steep descent shifted into a stationary hover above the rapidly-growing Imperial military camp, before settling down on a temporary landing pad etched into the dust of the plains. Emerging from the craft, he flagged down a passing serf in the robes of House Ragnar, and demanded directions towards her ladyship. Receiving them, he was able to flag down a passing Salamander reconnaissance vehicle, and one short assertion of authority he was making his heavily-armed way towards what he was becoming increasingly sure was more than just a simple recovery of a very profitable machine, a notion reaffirmed when the Salamander skewed to a halt atop a ridge overlooking a xenos compound.

His expression curdled to a sneer. Dark Eldar. So that was how it was going to be. He checked the charge on his hellgun, loosened his pistol in its holster, and set off towards Lady Ragnar as she stood several hundred metres off, accompanied by three others he did not recognise - likely the new crew he had received reports on. What was a lot less reassuring was the sight ahead of one of the xenos emerging from the compound, and he opened up to a jog as he moved to meet them.

"Lady Ragnar," he greeted her as he approached. "A fine day for an excursion planetside, but I'm sure I could have recommended a more pleasant resort. Or at least one with more amenable hosts," he sized up the xeno, already considering his opening move.
Apr 26, 2018 8:03 am
Well we’re talking so clearly that’s not quite the case. How would you like to go and do all that on a less well defended planet, becouse I can do that for you. She acknowledges Alassander with a slight cringe and a wave but doesn’t look away from the zeno.
Apr 26, 2018 2:21 pm
"Is he hitting on her? I'm so confused..." Nas leans in and whispers to Val and Kuros still taking a bead on the Xeno.
Apr 26, 2018 3:49 pm
OOC:
I'm assuming this is happening before you threatened the whole camp.
Apr 26, 2018 10:06 pm
Val whispers back to Nas, "I wouldn't know. Hopefully this is some kind of negotiating tactic but keep your gun handy..."
Apr 27, 2018 12:31 am
"Oh yeah, totally hitting on her." Kuros answers earnestly. He leaves his gun in his holster. He seems to have forgotten he has it. Still whispering "I must admit, this is very exciting, we have a full crew and we are negotiating instead of shooting. Let's see if our talkie talkie commander is up to snuff!"

So what is Ronda's response to the Incubi?
Apr 29, 2018 8:23 pm
OOC:
Ohh, the text above was her response, she only nonverbally responded to Aassander... sorry for the confusion.
May 1, 2018 5:04 am
"Well then let's cut the chatter." He laughs swinging his massive blade and charging.

He jumps and hits Ronda in her shoulder. (15 damage pen 6)

Val quickdraws his axe and spends his full action descending into a battle rage!

"This whole situation is stressing me out!!"
May 5, 2018 10:07 pm
Ronda tries to side step the attack, but fails. She screams as the blow punctures her armour with enough force to knock her to the ground. Blood starts to pool around the wound and her arm sits limp at an unnatural angle.

Rondezvue breaks from the melee, crawling backwards. As she moves the calls out to the servitors. Charge forward. Create a defensive line. se then fixes her attention on Nas You said your a good soldier, show me what you’ve got. Give ‘em hell.

full action disengage, free action issue command, free action use the rouge traders action to give Nas a +10 a check on his turn. Nas fires at a wytch she takes the bullet which blows her off path and sends her tumbling into the dirt. She lies there, unconscious or dead your unsure.

As the battle rages on you hear two ominous sounds. First the sound of shelling as Basilisks and Madusa start their bombardment of the base. The second is much closer, the terrifying screams of tortured beasts.

Where you shooting at a wytch warrior or the incubi?
May 24, 2018 5:58 pm
The incubi tries to dodge the stream of melta but it catches him full in the chest burning away at his white armour. With a rose of pain he leaps on top of the nearest servitor. He carves its head off and lands next to the wounded Ronda.
OOC:
Val your up.

OOC:
Whoa. 99? Well that's a definite miss!
May 25, 2018 3:06 am
As Kuros blast hits the Incubi and he sees his companions missing and being torn apart in combat he yells "You all fight like I fly!!!"
May 26, 2018 3:12 pm
Wytchs and servitors engage in a brutal melee. Machine screams mingle with more human screams. You cannot tell which side is winning until blasts of dark energy cut through the remaining servitors.

Then the ground below you cracks and shakes. Explosions rock all along the defence structures. Anyone with knowledge of imperial guard equipment recognizes Medusea shells striking the defences.
May 29, 2018 2:17 pm
"Fall back!" Nas bellows looking to anyone who seems to have frozen up, if they aren't moving he'll tackle them and try and move them out of the artillery bombardment dispersal area.
May 30, 2018 1:16 am
Kuros follows orders. He is very good at running away!
May 30, 2018 2:01 am
Val, despite being consumed with fury while in a battle frenzy, recognizes the danger posed by the bombardment. Perhaps some semblance of logic and self preservation will prevail...?
OOC:
Under these bombardment circumstances, is Val allowed to end his frenzy and withdraw from combat? Or must he continue doing battle with his current target?
May 30, 2018 2:12 am
OOC:
Or does Nas tackle Val?
May 30, 2018 7:47 am
Vu scowls as she begins to withdraw.
May 30, 2018 12:18 pm
Nas pivots noticing Val's inability it seems to decide to press through the bombardment and continue fighting or withdraw.

Well if it works on ogryns.... Nas thinks attempting to latch onto Val and pivot him.

"What is that? They attempt to flank us from the rear in the confusion, I'll cover you, 250 meters at our five, go crush their skulls as they cowardly sneak and crawl along the ground." Nas barks out his eyes wild pointing away form the bombardment in a direction where the ground is uneven and scowling.
OOC:
Unsure if this is a roll for bull shitting.
May 30, 2018 3:01 pm
OOC:
Where are you trying to fall back to?

I think there's a bluff skill but otherwise you can choose an appropriate fellowship skill to role.
May 30, 2018 3:05 pm
OOC:
Mostly out of immediate skyfall death I figure to reaccess what we'll do.

Well I guess I'm poking the bull unless I can use Military Secret Tongue. Fel tests at -5 with voidborn, rogue traders, and voidfarer if they are not personal friend or heard/ know your background/reputation (41-5/2) or 18 to 20 I think depending on if Val falls into one of those three.
May 30, 2018 4:16 pm
OOC:
Your choices of places to retreat to are: Back to your ship, into the Dark Eldar base, or around the side of them base which is a series of dark covered archways/caves.
May 30, 2018 4:17 pm
OOC:
It's up to Val to decide his relationship with you.
May 30, 2018 4:21 pm
OOC:
Val wouldn't fall into any of those categories. So I think just use a command roll to snap Val out of his frenzy.
May 30, 2018 4:50 pm
OOC:
I just need him to not stand in the fire...
Nas continues to bark orders at Val like he was a shell shocked troop on a heavy crew weapon.

"Get yer head in de game!" Nas yells into Val's face spittle flying as he barks out commands in a guttural tone.

Rolls

Secret Tongue (Military) 35 - (1d100)

(35) = 35

May 30, 2018 5:05 pm
OOC:
Not sure if the military tongue is relevant since Val doesn't speak it and we'd probably need a command roll instead. What is Nas' command skill?
May 30, 2018 5:57 pm
OOC:
Don't have command, I have intimidate Xq...
May 30, 2018 6:37 pm
OOC:
Command is a basic skill, so can be rolled untrained at half your fellowship score. But feel free to go with intimidate if overratedplayer allows it!
Jun 1, 2018 7:17 am
OOC:
Intimidate would work but if you fail by enough Val may turn on you. :)
Jun 1, 2018 9:26 am
Val to me! I need your help and a strong guard!

Rolls

Command (60) - (1d100)

(21) = 21

Jun 1, 2018 2:07 pm
Val snaps out of his battle frenzy haze, logical thinking reasserting itself. Seeing the threat of bombardment for what it is, Val withdraws from combat to accompany his Rogue Captain.
Jun 1, 2018 2:54 pm
Nas quickly follows Val since he has his sense back about him.
Jun 2, 2018 5:02 pm
OOC:
I need a direction your falling back to.
Jun 4, 2018 6:09 pm
OOC:
Nas would likely go in the most direct safe (mostly) route out of the bombing run where medical assessment and aid can be given.
Jun 6, 2018 1:26 pm
Weaving your way through various rock outcrops using the remaining murder servitors to strategically hold up anyone who might be chasing you. You stumble back to the ship in time to see a full scale battle breakout between the hive forces and the dark eldar. What shocks any of you with even basic imperial knowledge is the fact that the living saint Valentina is soaring above the battlefield dueling with a much less impressive, lightning-fast figure. She radiates holiness and anyone of the imperial creed feels compelled to join the fight.
Jun 6, 2018 3:16 pm
Nas watches and begins to move but stops and looks down and thinks, "Maybe we should attend our wounds and join in after the vanguards, if we're breaking off for our own objective it would be beneficial maybe... besides me who is hurt or gravely almost missing limbs?" Nas states opening up his medkit and looking to the others and then up and back again.
Jun 14, 2018 6:41 pm
OOC:
What do the rest of you do?
Jun 15, 2018 9:16 am
"I'm good."
OOC:
I am not really sure what we can do?
Jun 15, 2018 9:22 am
"I'm fine as well, Nas. Well, we can either join the fight, supporting the Imperium. Or we can use this battle to our advantage as a distraction while we continue forward to the caves containing the knight. What says our Lord Captain, Rondez?"
Jul 2, 2018 7:19 am
As you stand discussing your next course of action you receive a comms message from your ship. "Captain, two things first the good news is we have found you a path through to the knight, it looks fairly simple to get to. The bad news is you better hurry as it appears a large mass of something moving very fast is headed your way. I'll send directions through to your auspex."

The directions seem to follow the side of the eldar base then take a turn into a separate caves seem. As you receive this you hear a rabid barking sound.
Jul 2, 2018 1:58 pm
Right less reasoning and more running for a spot to do med checks yes?
Jul 2, 2018 2:20 pm
"Yes, more running..." Val quickly heads off in the direction given.
Jul 2, 2018 8:10 pm
Kuros doesn't even say anything. He just runs!
Jul 4, 2018 10:34 am
The lord captain, follows after the others, hold her Brocken arm tight against her said to not exhasperate the wound further.
Jul 5, 2018 12:29 am
Sprinting through the twisting trails you following the rough directions on the auspex. With every step the barking seems to get louder, as you turn the last corner before entering the cave system you see a mass of four legged creatures scrambling over each other to get to you. The caves are surprisingly large but seem to absorb any light from the sun as well as your weapon lights providing only 10ft of vision. The cave smells terrible and when you get close to the walls a puss like liquid oozing down the walls, rotting corpses litter the ground all facing away from where you are headed. The darkness seems to have no affect on what's following you as the baying grows ever closer. Then you come around the final corner a rusted iron door greets you. The same puss oozes down it. The door stands slightly ajar and the barking gets closer.
Jul 5, 2018 2:58 am
Val will attempt to kick the door open!

Rolls

Strength 50 - (1d100)

(20) = 20

Jul 5, 2018 3:17 am
Kuros runs to the door, opens it with his sword carefully making sure he doesn't stuff the icky stuff and plunges through door. As he is opening the door he yells to Val and Nas "Guys don't eat this drek."
Jul 5, 2018 6:14 am
The door is far to heavy to move far but you manage to make leaver it open, just enough to squeeze through, with your combined efforts. After you have gone through the door Kuros notices his sword blade is rusting away while Val's boot starts to rot.
Jul 5, 2018 6:25 am
"Gorrammit!"
OOC:
Does it appear the rot will spread to Val's actual flesh or does it look like Val will just end up with a screwed up boot? And any skill checks allowed to identify what the ooz was?
Jul 5, 2018 6:52 am
OOC:
It is eating away quickly and you think it will spread to his flesh. You may make a forbidden lore (Daemonology) check.
Jul 5, 2018 7:33 am
Kuros throws the sword away. "Fraggety frag!!!"
Jul 5, 2018 4:42 pm
"Gorrammit! Again!"

Val pulls his boot off and tosses it aside. He'll cut up some leather or whatever other material he has from his clothing and wrap it around his foot.
Jul 5, 2018 11:59 pm
OOC:
You currently have bigger problems than you boot as you need to figure out how to close the door with a pack of rabid creatures 50 or so feet away.
Jul 6, 2018 9:29 am
Rondezvue draws her plasma pistol, at first pointing it towards Nas’ foot, contemplating the option of a speedy amputation. Then looking up at the cave roof near the door looking to see if it can be brought down safely with a few shots.
Jul 6, 2018 10:02 am
You think you could bring down the side you just came through but it would trap you inside as when looking around you see no exits besides this door. In fact the only thing you can see is a metal floor covering the right side of the cave. You assume the knight you were looking for is buried somewhere under here.
Jul 6, 2018 11:17 am
Given how close the pack is, Rondezvue doesn’t think twice Everyone back up! she gives everyone a few seconds to comply and then brings the roof down. When the dust clears she anounces This should give use some more incentive to get the knight working, as it’ll probably be our way out.
Jul 6, 2018 12:03 pm
You spread out to search the cavern, avoiding the streams of acid carving a path in the floor, looking around the cavern seems man made but man made by a warp corrupted crazy person. Ronda takes a step forward looking at the strange pattern of spikes on the ceiling and almost falls down a crevasse. Looking down her eyes light up with an unimaginable glee as she sees her prize, an imperial knight lying on it side 50 meters below her, surrounded but untouched by the same acid.
Jul 6, 2018 2:32 pm
Kuros looks over the edge and scratches his head.
Jul 6, 2018 4:48 pm
OOC:
Nas is different than Val. XD
Nas looks at his whip and the strange pattern of spikes on the ceiling and down.

"Anyone know if those ceiling spikes are good for taking down? Also who of you is light enough to help me impale them down the incline?"
Jul 9, 2018 1:15 pm
OOC:
Are you going to try yourself or are you going to wait for someone else.
Jul 13, 2018 2:20 pm
OOC:
Do any of you have any other actions while Nas tries to get down?
Jul 14, 2018 3:37 pm
Kuros watches Nas with respect to his daring do.
Jul 18, 2018 3:52 pm
Nas tries to estimate the distance to the stalactites and tries to tug one down with his whip.
