Anwin looks around as she notices no one else is coming, all that drama and I'm the only one who followed,?
She turns her broom around and begins to head back

Kuz draws a circle in the dirt, takes a perceptive look about him and grunts satisfactorily as he doesnn't see any immediate threats and he believes that his companions can protect him if need be. Then he closes his eyes and begins to concentrate.

Anwin lands just as the tea is being handed out,
remind me not to be caught up by Ryestro anymore, just look at this I missed tea time!
Anwin kicks at the dirt. So who wants to fill me in on what's happening?

Fah'lin lays out a rough cloak and kneels on it outside of the crystals reach. She closes her eyes and seems to enter a state of meditation...or is it closer to prayer? Onlookers can see her eyes moving back and forth behind her eyelids as she scans her memory for any legends that might relate to this...and she reaches out to her patron, Omlelop, to see if his vast stores of knowledge can help her now.
OOC:
There is no mechanical reason that reaching out to her patron will benefit, mostly for flavor, but if the result is good and you want to play with this relationship, fell free DM.

Internally...

"Omlelop...this crystal...this substance...represents a fundamental change to the nature of reality on this world. Magic is the life blood of this world, and being able to simply shut it off disrupts the power structures that have sustained us for...well...all of recorded history. Knowledge of what it is, where it came from, and how it manipulate it...how to use it to our advantage would allow us to maneuver into positions of power we...well, I, had never thought possible. And through my advancement, your agenda would advance. Your knowledge is my power, my power is dedicated to feeding your knowledge. If it is your will, tell me what you think I should know, so that I might overcome this challenge and bring you more glory."

@Fah'lin: You hear no response.

Just flavouring your failure :)

After more or less 15 minutes, Kuz stands up and takes a few seconds to stretch. Speaking to no one in particular, "Bear spirit no see danger near. I go around camp to watch, if trouble or ready to leave, call me." Then Kuz goes to circle the camp staying at about 100-150 ft from it until called back. He keeps an eye open for anything out of the ordinary and tries to be stealthy.

Aetoris smiles as Oma hands him a cup, he inhales deeply of the steeped thyme, while Rolana's eyes flicker over his form. No Oma, normally I would take plenty of happiness from your matchmaking. You know that. But Rolana raises a very keen point about the natural implications of such a crystal. he says, winking at the tea-addled companion before thinking on the stone.

At seeing Aetoris speaking with Oma Salie and then throwing a wink her way, Rolana's head clears a bit as she realizes what caused her sudden descent into hormonal insanity. That's the last time I accept a gift of food or drink from her, she thinks. At least, one that she says was customized for me.

Forcing down the remaining urges brought about by the tea, Rolana finishes her fiddling with the horse pack and rubs the mare's nose absently, steeling herself to turn around and retrieve the pieces of clothing she'd discarded during her embarrassing display moments before.

She's distracted, however, by a firm, affectionate touch upon her back. Whirling, she is confronted by the large black bear she'd conjured earlier from the bag of tricks.

Oh, I'd forgotten all about you. Giving the beast a familiar and affectionate scratch on his head, she pulls a piece of jerky from her pouch for him. I suppose I'll keep you around in case we see more trouble today. But for now, feel free to forage nearby, or take a rest. Good work, by the way. Your help is always much appreciated.

Then she picks up her armor and proceeds to put it back on, finally returning Aetoris' wink.

"I can think of no legend or even child's story that can explain what we are dealing with here. I won't claim to have been the best student, but this seems like one of the stories I would have made a special note of. The only thing that came to my mind is the vile beholder. Those creatures are known for the anti-magic gaze they emit from their central eye, but that affect ends with their death. Even if someone found a way to sustain it beyond death, this crystal looks nothing like an aberrant creature's eye."

She finishes her tea and hands the cup back to Oma Salie. "Thank you, that was lovely."

As Oma investigates the crystal, an array of expressions cross her face as she feels the power it holds. She closes her eyes, concentrating on the swirl of magic in her that is pulled through her fingers into the crystal. Her eyes fly open and she almost drops the crystal, but a part of her refuses to let go, her curiosity, and perhaps the pull of the crystal, too strong.
Oh my, this is quite interesting, dangerous, perhaps, but interesting nonetheless! There's more to this crystal than just an antimagic shield. It's pulling on my magic, almost like it's charging on my power. There is a purpose to it I don't know, but with enough time I could find out what it is and learn how to use it. It feels strong, dangerous if not handled correctly, definitely a weapon of some sort. She pauses for a second, frowning. I think it's safe to assume that our enemy possess this knowledge and could use it against us. Finding out exactly what it does and being able to use it against them could give us an advantage, I'm not sure, but not knowing definitely gives us a disadvantage. She looks at the others with a slightly overprotective grandma look, then nods as if making a decision.
Yes, if you all agree we should find the exact purpose of this crystal, it has to be me who finds out. Like I said, it could be dangerous and I will not put any of you in that danger by taking over. I'm old, if this crystal takes away some of my power I could always retire from adventure. But you have much more good to do after this one. So, should I find out?

sorry for the delay! Had an unexpected visitor yesterday that took all of my time!

No problem! I was a little worried for a second as I gave you some pretty important information. Anyway, I'll open a small discussion in the OOC thread. Everyone please check it out when you get the chance :)

It's about 7pm when you receive a sending spell from one of the King's magicians. Apparently there has been some unusual tectonic movement in the area
Fort Naleth reports the growth of some kind of strange mountain. That must have been the source of the vibrations earlier in the day. Also, reinforcements have arrived there from Drydin, a small town about two days travel from your current position.
Fort Naleth is under strict orders to close their gates and fortify their defences. No scouts are to venture out of eyesite of the keep until after you arrive.
Finally, Celeria has marshalled it's city guard of two thousand three hundred troops and they are on the way South to reinforce your position.

OOC:
How far are we from Fort Naleth? Trying to decide if we should just make camp for the night.

OOC:
I think you have already made camp for the night. Kuz is out scouting the camp while the academic types investigate the crystal. I'd say it's early evening. You are two days ride away from Drydin which is two days away from Fort Naleth. However, one of you has the transport via plants spell so...

Anwin sets out her bedroll and readies her self for a light sleep. She walks over to the group and asks do you think a box lined with lead would Shield the effects of this crystal? I've heard lead can help dampen magical items? Anybody else hear this before? I think it's worth a try!?
