Ryestro whispers an incantation, "I hoped you would of been subdued for this but I suppose this form is serviceable. How did you learn my name?"
OOC:
Message cantrip.

"That prioritizes getting more crystals then. Likely whatever goal this man is working toward has been bolstered by the additional work force of the city population."

OOC:
@Ryestro: Give me a very hard persuasion or intimidation check. Your choice.

The man turns into a bird and flies off into the forest. He doesn't respond to your message.

I think Fah'lin is right - we will need to have more of those crystals if we expect to be able to defeat whoever is behind this.

To Sahl Nargan, Rolana/Sola says, When you said the organization had fallen apart, what precisely did you mean? And again, you can speak freely in front of the people in this room.

Also, is there anything else you can tell us about these bug-things? Even small details might be useful.

Sahl replies to Rolana: You name it and it has fallen. The city garrison has fallen. Organised resistance has fallen, the thieves guild has fallen. Southwatch has completely fallen. The only mystery is why the bugs haven't moved on Fort Naleth yet. I want to take a horse and ride as far away from here as possible. Probably even leave Dia Monde. If you were smart you'd do the same.

The only other thing I can think of about the bugs is that they don't all look the same. Some of them are different colours and have completely diffetent appearances. The only thing they all have in common is the number of body parts, legs and claws. There are blue ones that swim around the river, that flows from the mountains and runs through the north eastern section of the city. Spinned ones that shoot long needle-like missiles from their backs and there may be other types. Their co-ordination is frankly amazing and they seem to attack as if they are all following one central chain of command.

I really don't know anything else. Can I go now?

Looking around at the rest of her companions, Rolana/Sola says, If anyone else has any questions, feel free to ask.
OOC:
I'd like to roll an insight check to see if I can tell if Sahl is being completely honest and forthright. Reliable Talent, can't be less than a 16.
To Aetoris, she lowers her voice and says, What do you think? Let him go, or keep him here?

You are an excellent judge of character but he is pretty hard to read. He is clearly desperate and his motivation seems sound.
OOC:
If no one else has any questions then I will move the story along. To help with that, everyone give me a very difficult Nature check please.

Still observing, Pyrrha cocks her head slightly as she tries to recall anything about certain species of insect-like creatures.

Don't want to be left out so I brought Kuz back from the trenches temporarly if its ok with everybody :)
Taking a break, Kuz arrives in the tent not long after Sahl starts recounting his story. Not wanting to interrupt, he just stands aside and listens...

Tinwë shrugs. "The way the little guy was running from those creatures seemed desperate enough. I say give him a horse." She leans toward Sahl. "But if there is anything else you know that might help us against this enemy, this is your last chance to share."
OOC:
Also, just a reminder that I rolled a 29 History check for knowledge about the bug creatures I saw. Did I learn anything useful?

I have to admit, it is strange that these creatures haven't attacked this fort. I wonder if someone here is working with whoever is behind this whole operation. Or perhaps there's something here that is keeping them away.

Rolana gives a bitter smile. Or perhaps someone was just waiting for us to arrive before taking the fort. In which case, how goes the trench-digging, Champion?

It is strange, until you consider the giant pyramid with the magical house and evil crystal. Clearly these aren't natural or normal bugs. Aetoris says, thinking on them.

"Digging go well for now. Many still not happy, but they see me work and they work too. Kuz not sure now if trench help, little guy told creatures came from ground. Maybe creatures are digging big hole towards fort. I find calm space and stay with bear spirit, if creatures get near, I know before they here and maybe we can make trap. I just don't know what trap we use."

"I can think of two reasons why this mastermind is staying put for the moment. The first is limitations. He is vulnerable to magic if he does not have his barrier. He fears what we could do with access to all of our power. He might also be limited by his bug soldiers. They might not be able to go far, either from this location or his silly hat. Wr know they can leave the barrier for a short period at least."

"The other option is what he wants is here. There might be an artifact or something buried under the city that he wants...or at least he thinks there is. I hold this second option to be more likely simce he has made no demands or threats. He has taken a territory and consolodated his power there."

After you finish questioning Sahl, you give him a fresh horse and send him on his way.

The rest of the day passes as Kuz and the rest of the soldiers in the camp continue to dig a defensive ditch around the perimeter of the camp.
