Tinwë nods, muscles tensing as adrenaline pumps through her system. Let this chase begin. She takes off running.

Within moments you hear the sound of persuit. You risk a glance back and see the lizard/bug like creatures are gaining on you. You'll have to get creative if you want to make it to the edge of the anti-magic zone.

What do you do?

Oma looks at Fah'lin, slightly disappointed she doesn't want to make tea, more so because Oma can't open or enter the hole herself. Oh Aety, why can't others be more like you?
She shrugs at Fah'lin's question. I don't know, but does it hurt to try? Simple tricks, they're easiest for me to do as well, we will never know if you don't try! Don't you feel the desire to find out? What else would you do while I practice? She shrugs again, sighing softly because of the lack of tea and then walks away from Fah'lin again, standing under the shield and using spells over and over, waiting out the effects and then doing it again.
OOC:
she'll do the following spells in this order:
Mage armour 1st level spell
Invisibility 2nd level spell
Ice knife 1st level spell
Ice knife 2nd level spell
Stinking cloud 3rd level spell
Stinking cloud 4th level spell
Stinking cloud 5th level spell.

Like I said, she'll cast, wait for all the effects to happen, the clouds and unexpected "unwanted effects" to disappear, then cast the next. I'll add 7 arcana check rolls, feel free to not really give me any extra effects if you don't need to, but I'd like to know what spells have extra effects and what don't^^
1st 2/4 | 2nd 1/3 | 3rd 1/3 | 4th 2/3 | 5th 1/2 | 6th 1/1 | 7th 1/1 | 8th 1/1

Rolls

Arcana check 1 - (1d20+7)

(12) + 7 = 19

Arcana check 2 - (1d20+7)

(8) + 7 = 15

Arcana check 3 - (1d20+7)

(1) + 7 = 8

Arcana check 4 - (1d20+7)

(14) + 7 = 21

Arcana check 5 - (1d20+7)

(7) + 7 = 14

Arcana check 6 - (1d20+7)

(4) + 7 = 11

Arcana check 7 - (1d20+7)

(12) + 7 = 19

The disturbing howls and chitters of the bug-monkeys is close behind her, but the rhythmic pumping of her legs soothes Tinwë as she runs. One foot, then another, a blur of motion. The pure bliss of effortless grace is a miracle for which she is grateful every day. And no better way to show gratitude for a gift than by using it...

Memories flash in her mind of running alongside Corellon's Elite Guard through mystical places where one could become a stone rolling down a hill, or a breeze whipping through the trees, or a wave crashing onto the shore. Thought gives way to emotion and instinct as she gives herself over to the music that thrums through her body and soul. With a smile in her eyes and a song on her lips, spurred on memories of timeless adventure, Tinwë dances.

Over a log, under that branch, cutting from one side to another around a boulder, skidding down a slope and racing up the other side. Every movement in perfect coordination, unyielding momentum lending her grace and balance, Tinwë plunges through the brush and terrain at breakneck speed.

Rolls

Performance - (1d20+14)

(7) + 14 = 21

Using his peak physical condition, Kuz follows Tinwë as best as he can, jumping higher than most people can, crashing through branches. From time to time, when he sees rocks as big as his fists, he tries to scoop them on the run and lobs them behind him hoping to catch a creature if he's lucky enough.

Rolls

Athletics (adjusted for the anti-magic zone) - (1d20+8)

(13) + 8 = 21

Perception (to spot those rocks) - (1d20+6)

(6) + 6 = 12

Rolana gets quite bored and decides to kick a few rocks around to pass the time. After about three hours she hears the sound of something thrashing through the forest and coming right for her. She focuses on the approaching sound and tries to determine the number of approaching figures but she can't come to any definitive conclusions. So focused is she on her task that she doesn't even notice as Tinwe appears right next to her.
OOC:
Tinwe, you are much faster than Kuz but even so, you know that the creatures will be upon you in seconds.
What do you do?
Jul 3, 2018 11:37 pm
OOC:
Just for clarity, how does Rolana fail to notice Tinwe if she is looking in the direction of the thrashing noise headed right for her?
Jul 4, 2018 1:07 am
OOC:
She doesn't exit in exactly the same direction. She is running a little to the left and she doubles back when she sees you.
Jul 4, 2018 1:12 am
OOC:
@Rolana: Logical explanation could be, Kuz and the creatures are the one making all the fuss so by the time they get your attention, they distracted you from Tinwë who is gracefully running without disturbing anything. Also...
@Arina: As far as I know, Kuz is as fast as Tinwë (both at 40ft) so he simply slowed enough to let her get to Rolana first and to make sure he was the bait not his friends. lol Let an half-orc keep his dignity please !!

OOC:
@Kuz: Absolutely, on open ground you would be as fast as Tinwe however, I'm giving her more speed because you're moving through a thick forest.
But, your other point is exactly how I planned the scene.

OOC:
Is the noise enough to alert Fah'lin and Oma to the approaching problem?
Jul 4, 2018 4:38 am
OOC:
That's an excellent question. You can both give me perception checks.
Jul 4, 2018 5:24 am
Fah'lin finds a rock to kick while waiting for Oma to finish her work.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+7)

(13) + 7 = 20

Realizing that she's directly in the path of whatever is rushing through the forest vegetation, Rolana calls the giant fly to her and turns, intending to leap onto its back. She nearly plows into Tinwe as she turns. When did you get here? No, tell me later. And Rolana climbs onto the back of the giant fly and readies her crossbow.

Does Oma hear noises?

Rolls

Perception check - (1d20+1)

(16) + 1 = 17

OOC:
@Oma and Fah'lin: You both hear them coming!
Jul 4, 2018 8:42 pm
OOC:
@Arina, did you see my post with the many spells? If we are going to fight these things, I kind of want to know where Oma succeeded and where not... It might influence her moment of attack....
Oma's head whips around at the sound of the things crashing through the forest just as Fah'lin's does. Yes, let's go..!
She takes off after Fah'lin (Oma is slower and I'm going to assume they'll be running outside of the shield, for now at least) moving towards Sola and Tinwë.
Jul 4, 2018 9:48 pm
OOC:
In all fairness, Tinwë does end up being faster than Kuz in a sprint, since she has so many abilities that increase her speed and give her more mobility. Over long distances though I think Kuz would run her into the ground!
Tinwë slides to a stop near Rolana. Huh, she seems surprised. But there's no way the spymaster wouldn't have seen me coming. Maybe she's bluffing for some reason? She gives the woman a nod and pulls her bow off her shoulder. "Here they come!" Tinwë pulls an arrow from her quiver and holds it to her lips, whispering a quick song. The arrow flares with blue light, which then dims to sporadic sparks of electricity. She fits the arrow to her bowstring and pulls the fletching to her ear, trained on the place where Kuz is soon to emerge.
OOC:
Bonus action to cast Level 3 Lightning Arrow.
Jul 4, 2018 11:01 pm
@Oma Salie: The whole point is for the party to lure the creatures out of the anti-magic zone, so you don't need to rush in there if you don't want to.

Your stinking cloud spells all failed. You manage to deduce that the difficulty of casting spells within the anti-magic zone is proportional to the difficulty of the spell. You also had a whole bunch of crazy spell effects.
OOC:
You need to make an arcana check DC 5 x spell level or the spell fails. In addition, there will be one wild magic surge per spell level.
