"Maybe we should find someplace to sleep for the night. I don't think we can do much good in the dark when all we have are some dying tablets and cell phones for light." Carmen looks back toward the house. "We're far from the house. Does anyone know this area? Maybe there's a hotel nearby."

From the backway everyone came into the property everyone was escorted in skirting the forest the area is actually quiet large if one keeps going you figure you're run into the national forest and the state park to the North and East.Yall are literally a few hours into the boonies.

Carmen nods, but her furrowed brow betrays concern about the plan. "Yes, you're probably right, Molly. But did anyone bring a flashlight? Our phones won't last much longer."

I don't think any of us has a flashlight among our possessions. Most cell phones have a flashlight function, but we've mentioned narratively before that our batteries are draining. I'm wondering if the GM might allow either a Vigilance check or a Story Point flip to say that we have at least one heavy-duty flashlight on us so that we can press on.Mar 15, 2019 2:46 pm

Sure we haven't gotten a use for story points in but lets figure it through RP who's the a 'in the closet prepper'. After experimenting last Friday on this I think this is doable for walking on uneven ground through a forest.Mar 16, 2019 12:44 am

Carmen's not the outdoorsy type, so it wouldn't be her. :)

Calvin is not even ‘closet’ prepper. He lived in the mountains alone for years before he got that mysterious envelope. If anyone is going to have a flashlight buried in his pocket it’s him. He is prone to carry a small carry a small yet bright LED flashlight from time to time. The question is did he remember today.

While you don't find any signs of the kids being here you do find some dried meat in a sack and a cloak or blanket stashed in various places out of the elements here.

The party weaves their way deeper into the forest at night.
Eventually you all realize you hear the sound of your breathing and it's labored although you weren't moving quacking or climbing, between the low light and checking your footing when you feel you might fall or slip you all stop in the quiet sounds of the forest.
Stopping Calvin turns in the darkness and shines light into an out crop of rock a ways from you that has a gap big enough for shelter. Most all feel a bit chilly from the nights temperature and slight breeze at times.

As the group decides how to approach the rocks, Carmen takes a short sniff of the wine Denton is carrying. She whispers, "Mr. Denton, that wine… May I try it? It smells oddly familiar."
