"Well I didn't think they would mention it, if they knew or didn't know." she states to Carmen. She waves her hand and Denton is given a small book and a ring. The man stares at him from his good eye the other scarred and white. She motions again and the kids come in. If you didn't know any better they look more like kids that are at camp and been up to some kind of mischief. Gia and the others leave you with the kids. She stops and squints at the sun and thinks for a bit before smiling slightly and before leaving while looking back at you all. "Feel free to talk with the children."

Left alone with you all they look at each other and then the four of you, "Who are you?" the girl asks watching you all.

"My name is Carmen. And these are my friends, Jack, Molly, and Calvin. I have a little girl about your age. She's called Lucía. What's your name?"
OOC:
Happy to roll a Charm check, just let me know the difficulty. Carmen's a face character, after all. :)
Jul 9, 2019 7:35 pm
OOC:
Lets go with Average check then plus one setback for stranger danger and plus one current appearance.
"Gia..." she states nostrils flaring a bit.
Jul 9, 2019 7:44 pm
OOC:
Do you mean plus a boost for appearance, or an additional setback? And any boosts for the motherly approach?
OOC:
Carmen needs Knack for It once we get some XP! I'll roll assuming that's two setbacks. Adding two boosts (one for motherly approach, another for unskilled assistance from another PC). If neither is warranted, ignore the first and/or second blue.
OOC:
Drat. Kiddo isn't willing to talk, it seems. 4 Advantages: Maybe Carmen senses they aren't buying the sweet approach and need a bit of a more forceful approach via Leadership? "What's the matter, kid? You were asked a direct question by an adult, so please answer it!"

Carmen watches the girl nod and just state at you. Realizing you never did meet either of the kids moms the silence just lingers.

She looks to her cousin who shrugs and then back at the group, "Did you have some questions or something?" she finally asks. In a way you almost feel you're talking to a tween instead and you try and calm the slight irk from the cheeky girl.
Jul 12, 2019 12:14 pm
Jack just grins at the kids "Well we were sent to make sure you were ok so I guess the first on is are you two alright? They treating you ok here?"
Jul 12, 2019 1:11 pm
"If you mean if we were hurt no, but if you mean are we okay after hearing about our dads..." she begins with a pained expression and sighes, "I guess it's good we know but I wish I didn't, I can't really go back to tea times and my little pony after hearing what our family has done. I'm trying to learn about how to help people and what Aunt Gigi does... He's well anything mechanical or getting around the area quickly he's interested and learning about. He's such a boy." she explains looking at her cousin who only impishly smirks back but doesn't really say anything.

"What have you been doing since you left your house back in town?" Carmen tries to present a more teacherly demeanor, sensing the matronly approach may have backfired.
Jul 12, 2019 7:54 pm
"Mostly being told things about what happened with my family after we got here... Seeing how people live here."
Jul 17, 2019 11:46 pm
Molly looks at Gia with a sad expression. "Were you treated poorly at home?
Jul 18, 2019 11:19 am
"Well I wasn't allowed to brew my own tea for tea parties... but I think that's from having an overprotective dad. But no not poorly, I usually got what I wanted like a cottage for tea parties with imaginary tea... a day or two and a perspective change really shifts things... Like I could totally make a pot of tea but I don't know if it'd be any good." she states shaking her head.
Jul 18, 2019 8:15 pm
Carmen purses her lips and thinks for a moment. She then says, "Well, you seem happy enough here. But your father really misses you. Are you planning to see him again?"

"I know he misses me but honestly me coming back probably won't get him spending more time with me... either of us..." she muses, "We'll have to see them eventually, there's definitely going to have to be one of those 'the talks'."

"This is probably the first time I've ever felt guilty about having fun..." she adds with a slight frown.

"But there's a lot of cool stuff to do..." her cousin finally pipes up looking at her.

"I'm happy that you're happy here!" Carmen says with a smile. "But we need to let your fathers know that you are OK. I want to ask the Mistress in charge, but I think we can take a video message back to your fathers to let them know you are fine. Is that all right?"
OOC:
Looks like a custody dispute, but we've located the children and proven they're safe. Maybe all we need now is a video message for the dads to show the kids are fine and can let them pursue legal action if they so desire.

OOC:
Been an interesting month, thought I posted already guess I didn't hit the button.
Carmen gets someone to come over and get the matriarch. She comes in looking at the children first then the party.
Jul 31, 2019 3:11 pm
OOC:
Was hoping someone else might pipe in. But if no one does by tonight, I'll have Carmen speak again.
Aug 1, 2019 1:44 am
Molly looks at the children, then to Gia, concern still plain on her face, but remains silent.
Aug 1, 2019 5:34 pm
OOC:
I joined this game late, so I'm probably not the best person to negotiate over the children. I think the setup was that we were hired by the dads to locate them? Is there any reason not to leave them with the Roma and just tell the dads they're safe?
Carmen smiles to the elder woman upon her return. "Madame Gia, thank you for letting us speak to the children. They seem quite healthy and happy." Her grin fades. "The thing is, the children's parents--your brothers--are very insistent that they return. I'm not inclined to bring the kids back, but I don't know the full situation. Why do you think the children should stay here with you?"
Aug 5, 2019 2:19 pm
OOC:
I guess that's the thing about a mystery setting with a lot of player agency or at least trying to give large swathes, what does Carmen think?
Gia shrugs, "They're my niece and nephew of course I would keep them safe, they're innocent in all this. I'll ask you this first... Have you asked the children or my siblings where they mothers of their children are." she counters.
OOC:

Calvin mentally slaps his forehead for not thinking to check on this earlier.
