Remnant says:
OOC:
I always believe in free player agency. That's really up to the party to decide on, besides it's a mystery... *does wave hand gestures to show mysterious reasons for why things happen*.
"You can all sort out what you'd like to do. I'll write the letter."
OOC:
Referring to this post. Presumably she's going to explain the situation from her own point of view.

OOC:
@Tophu
She's going to right you a letter and take you to a place to contact the brother's, a spot with cell service most likely.
Gia comes back looking at the lot of you and waits to see your response, "Have you all figured out what you'll do? I've written my letter you can read it once you're out of our lands and make contact with your employer the brothers."

Carmen pauses and furrows her brow. "It's hard to know what we'll do without knowing what's in the letter, Ma'am. Can you give us some idea?"
Sep 9, 2019 7:43 am
Jack frowns at Carmen "She's already said we can read it before we contact them. Pretty sure she figures if we don't like what we read we'll not play ball"
Sep 9, 2019 1:21 pm
Carmen shrugs. "Fair enough. But I suspect Madame Gia will be far away by the time we come to that decision. Perhaps we should head back to town, then."

"This is more so for the children to not hear you or your reactions and gives us time to prepare if your call opts for people to come in a helicopter... wanting more then just picking up the children." she states her face stern and frank. You gives a rough folded piece of paper to Jackson, "Show them to the clearing or if they're going back to Modesto point them in the right direction so they don't wander around in the forest for days..." he requests from someone. An older man comes forward that you've seen before. He looks at you silent his dead eye unblinking and waits for you all to make a decision.
Sep 10, 2019 1:26 pm
"Of course, Madame," Carmen says. "I think we're all agreed that the children's wellbeing is our primary concern. You don't have anything to fear from helicopters as far as I'm concerned." To the others she adds, "I vote that we go back to Modesto to check in with the agency and potentially begin the second phase of this investigation."

Molly stuffs the paper into her pocket with a nod and nods again in agreement with Carmen.

The party is lead by the older man out of the village you all raise a bit of concern as your journey back begins with a zipline descent from a cliff. After some time of leading the man looks at the sun with his hand up oddly. He looks at the group at you come to a clearing under his guiding.

"Road to Modesto... by nightfall." he states bluntly wiggling one hand. Looking at all of you he turns and heads back leaving you to your own devices.

"Guess we start walking," Carmen says, as she sets down the road. "Maybe we can flag down a truck and hitchhike."
OOC:
I'd spend a SP to have a passing truck pick us up! We could use the rest.
Sep 12, 2019 11:34 am
The group make their way in the direction and find a highway before they watch Carmen flag down a truck, the three men inside look familiar and look around asking where the camera is since the group of you look like something out of a reality show considering your wardrobe, facial expressions, and location. The back of the truck bed has a blanket to sit on the bumps are minor and no one goes flying off as you are left to your own design on the way back.

OOC:
Honestly, I’m not sure where we go from here.

OOC:
Me neither. If the GM is amenable, maybe this is a good place to call a "session" break, letting us touch base with the agency or otherwise reset our priorities in preparation for phase II of this mission?

OOC:
Sure that works the ride back to town was more of a cut scene so to speak, yall can speak frankly or have a Wed Thur Friday moment on what's happening... plus there's the letter to review. But where yall go is up to yall. There's always the option of saying mission accomplished lets open a bar also. Xq

The more techy dependent get that itch and fire up their devices or laptops and are bombarded by information of law enforcement movements, headlines, and online debates and flame wars about what has happened.

The brothers' new limelight seems to cresend as you piece together from news a few hours of the fire that took over consuming parts of their winery at least an attempt was made but something happened in the mixing and only partial damage seemed to be the case. Both were arrested on charges of possible insurance fraud, tax evasions, and in questioning involving overseas people connected to organized crime who some at least supposedly worked for several years at the winery reports proposed. Two women stepped in to attempt PR triage as the supposed wives of the brothers which caused another cluster of new spealing of wives not seen in the limelight or even heard of. Information leaking to their connection directly with organized crime and actual mafia families kicked another accelerant into the fire of the story it seemed. They seemed to up and vanish as soon as Interpol made comments of looking into the matter of the two woman since they were tied to seveal unsolved cases in Europe.

You're all felt a bit numb reading the letter from the Matriach having had been planning this out for some time getting evidence slowly over a few decades. You all are left wondering about the G foundation's actual purpose and if you've been working for vigilant justice or organized crime. You all break ways going back to your old life occationally meeting up for a family style different, assisting each other on various things, and oddly enough still waiting to see if the next letter will come...
