Vinny smiles at Duke, You know it, Bro. I call that a Saturday. he stomps out of the carriage and rushes arms raised high to drop a double hammer punch on the centipede.
OOC:
Am I close enough to hit this round?

"Sokolov looks like you're still on overwatch." Duke states jumping down getting into long range as he pulls an odd dried pod from his bag breaking it open and muttering as a plant rapidly grows in his hand. A small reddish bulb like flower with white specks forms at the top of the plant's stock as he aims it at the creature holding the plant by the roots.

"Alright Bubba light 'em up with Nature's Wrath" Duke states putting effort into aiming once everyone's in position.

"Stay in the cart?" She says mockingly as a streak of black passes by the group as Katyu rushes past thrusting her lance at the creature. "And miss all the fun here."

Not even close.
Qralloq says:
You're about 30 meters away when you first see it.
In game terms, this is a Long distance. A Short distance is greater than Immediate but less than 15m (50 feet). An Immediate distance within reach or a few steps, but no more than 3m (10 feet).

A character can move an Immediate distance as part of another action, a Short distance as the entire action for a turn, and can try to move a Long distance as the entire action perhaps with a check to avoid slips, trips, or stumbles.
Duke needs to make an attack roll, and spend the Intellect points to activate Nature's Wrath.

Katyushka runs the Long distance, but her attack misses by a lot. The creature is very fast and hard to hit, and considerably dangerous because of that.

OOC:
Rolls to see if he draws all the agro. Bad plant spitter... bad. *gets squirt bottle* That's a miss. XD

Rolls

Nature's Wrath - (1d20)

(2) = 2

Shark_Bone says:
OOC:
It says an action to initiate and an action to animate the dream. So, I think I can probably just manifest it right now and then animate it and make a roll to distract next round? Let me know how you want me to proceed, GM.
Exactly so, you can manifest it right away with no roll, and spend an action next time to get it to do stuff. The very nature of it manifesting (which you can do anywhere within Long range) is potentially distracting so make a check now anyway and describe what happens.

OOC:
Well then, I would assume I am also with Long Range, but that is where this spell shines!
Seth pages through his spellbook quickly, mouthing the words before dropping the book, its chain catching it before it hits the ground. He raises both arms and shouts an incantation, finally pointing both palms at the beast. This last was not explicitly necessary, but just kind of felt right.

A gout of raw magic shoots forth from his hands towards the creature.
OOC:
It doesn't say I should roll for hit, but I am assuming that I do.

Rolls

Arcane Flare (1 Int. Pt.) plus effort (-1 for edge) - (1d20+3)

(16) + 3 = 19

Aug 16, 2018 6:45 pm
OOC:
"action for long-range attack" is code for an attack roll.
Seth's magical attack strikes the creature, damaging it for 4 damage.
Aug 16, 2018 8:24 pm
OOC:
Since I am Fleet of Foot can I use my full action to move the Long Distance without a roll?

OOC:
ok. So tI hink that means I can run long with no action as long as I succeed a diff 2 speed roll. ok. I'll use an effort

Rolls

Run Forrest Run - (1d20+3)

(3) + 3 = 6

Aug 17, 2018 4:18 pm
The Rock monster runs up to an immediate distance to the creature.
Aug 18, 2018 10:45 pm
In a spot near the creature, a flash of light manifests, then grows like a child's snake firework into a large, brown, something. Squat legs end in wheels and wrinkled brown skin moves up to cover a cone-like torso ending in to long, spindly arms and a flat head. The eyes and fingertips glow on the figure.

Micah opens his eyes, which he'd scrunched closed with effort, and gives a shuddering laugh. "Yeah, that's still creepy..." he says, mostly under his breath.
OOC:
Edit: LOL! Looks like Micah probably only succeeds in freaking himself out...

This is a figure from my own childhood dreams that terrified me. Think a blending of E.T. and Johnny 5 of Short Circuit.

Rolls

1d20 + Intellect Effort - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Aug 19, 2018 3:46 pm
Micah successfully summons the creature image as desired.
OOC:
No roll is required for the summon. When you use your next action to attempt to use the creature for a distraction, that will require a roll.
Summary: Duke and Seth attached from Long range, Vinny and Katyu team up to melee range, and Micah summoned an illusion from range.

The creature, which from up close appears to be a lizard sprouting extra insectoid legs from seeping wounds, turns and attacks Katyushka who should make a Speed Defense roll.

Rolls

1-2: Katyu (first there), 3: Vinny, 4-5: illusion (big) - (1d5)

(1) = 1

Aug 20, 2018 6:56 pm
OOC:
Oh crap. Maybe I can't.

Aug 20, 2018 10:56 pm
The creature bites Katyushka for 5 damage.

Everyone may act again.
Aug 21, 2018 1:53 pm
OOC:
Minus armor though. Eh heh.
Duke watches the creature and moves to get a line of sight to attempt his attack again.

"Ah come on now, what you want a piece o' jerky or something?" he bargains with the plant before trying to get it to spit out another barrage.
OOC:
Well at least my rolling is improving, in several rounds I might roll in the double digits...

Dukes attack miss but Vinnys attack hits. The natural 17 equates to +1 damage.
Aug 22, 2018 5:01 am
"Good shot rock boy." Katyu takes another swing at the creature as she sarcastically applauds Vinny.
OOC:
+1 to damage from Dragons Bane if that hit. 7 total
