Love your BH already, Meribson! Applied Hira with her sheet on gamersplane now for the game. I foresee many potential IC arguments about our methods...

Meribson, my only issue is that I don’t see a reason why this guy would take a risky mission against the empire.

"What did you DO?!"

"What? I didn't have time to swap ammo clips to rubber bullets and I had to keep the mark from getting away."

"You turned his knees into pulp!"

"He's alive isn't he?"

Against the empire, for the empire, the politics of the job doesn't matter to him, the pay and chance to boost his rep does. A risky job is more impressive, especially with the "handicap" of using a slugthrower instead of a blaster.

@bardo

I've been meaning to ask... Lanthrym is listed as a cold, glacier world. Are we going to need any environmental gear?
May 24, 2018 4:02 am
Ok, PC submitted without any equipment purchases yet, but otherwise about where I think I want them to be... just didn't have time to get through gear. Sorry all, I know I'm the laggard here.

The quick and dirties:
Kel Dor, Seer
40 xp on a WIL bump
50 xp into Spec Talents
60 xp into Force Powers (yup, Force Wizard)

The Face part is largely a work in progress (as I'll be relying on the Force for that rather than Characteristics/Skills), but that will come along as xp does...

Bardo, you intend on using Morality as-is? No house rules there?

Here's the down and dirty for Kelen 2.0's stats:

Human Smuggler/Thief
Br 2, Ag 3, In 3, Cu 3, Wi 2, Pr 2

Skills of note:
Computers (2y1g)
Deception (2y1g)
Piloting - Space (1y2g)
Skulduggery (2y1g)
Stealth (2y1g)

He's hard to identify, good with breaking security, and carries an assortment of gear for his "retrieval and acquisition" jobs.

I didn’t have any specific changes in mind. The chart on p323 won’t be taken literally in all situations though. If you have run into any issues with it and have any recommendations, I’m open to them.

In my personal (pretty extensive) experience, Morality works well if the players actively engage with it and realize that its not a "punishment" to get Conflict. I wouldn't request any changes myself, but if emsquared has any thoughts on the matter, I wouldn't be against it either.

If you guys could put a summary of your specific xp purchases on your sheets that would be awesome.

Kelen Pell has been updated with the character creation breakdown. It's at the bottom of his sheet.
May 24, 2018 3:28 pm
Zusom's been updated, XP expenditure should be below backstory.

60 into characteristics
40 into skills
50 into talents

He should be available for everyone to see

I intend to engage the Morality system. I rather like it as a mechanical>narrative tool to explore "Jedi Morality". Silim, at least, may know me from the FFG forums, I'm a big advocate for it. My main recommendation with Morality, aside from adhering to RAW and informing a Player when they're about to do something that you're gonna assign Conflict to so that they can choose not to do it, is allow the use of the Force to achieve great things, be loose with it, that's how you tempt players/PCs to seek the easy power that is the lure of the Dark Side.

The way to use the Morality mechanic really is to have "Conflict worthy" actions, and Force use, be the easy way to get things done. It's all about the easy way vs. the hard way. The Jedi will take the hard way to avoid the Dark side - whether that's choosing to "let the Force go" when they're trying to use a Power and it fails, or whether that's letting their enemy live because they're unarmed or whatever. Darksiders obviously do not.

Edit: Also, I've placed xp expenditures next to all purchases in my character sheet (except for Willpower which is 40).

XP expenditure on the sheet!

I was wondering where I had read your name before! Fancy meeting you here. I agree with pretty much all of your assessments regarding morality . I just got out of the cinema after watching the Han Solo movie, so my experience expenditures will have to wait till I'm home.

Personally I don't plan on going to see Solo.

I don't care for the direction that Disney's going (*and that's all I'm saying on the matter*) but I also don't have the disposable funds to see a movie in theaters at this point in time. If I did have the funds then Deadpool 2 ranks well above even what Force Awakens did on my must see list.

I totally understand your feelings Meribson. Even though I always get excited for new Star Wars content, wether or not it's re-watchable is a whole other thing. I just love the SW universe, and the stories that come out of it. Which is why when I found out about the FFG Star Wars RPG, I was so excited to play and to be able to make my own stories and adventures.

No worries, I wouldn't spoil this movie for ya. Steer clear of other spoilers if you want to see it, this is a movie that really is damaged by spoilers.

As for my EXP, its in the Notes. Here's the overview:
70 EXP to raise Brawn from 2 to 4
30 EXP to raise Intellect to 3
20 EXP to buy Imperial Army Cadet
5 EXP to buy Toughened in Armorer
5 EXP to buy Gearhead in Armorer
5 EXP to buy Inventor in Armorer
10 EXP to buy Gearhead in Armorer
15 EXP to buy Mental Tools in Armorer

Also, spent the thousand creds I still had around on a Mono-Molecular Edge for my Ancient Sword.

The one caveat I would add I guess to what I said above is: That advice entirely stems from my years of experience in running 2 and playing in 1 F&D-ONLY campaigns.

Playing in a mixed group will likely present FUs with more "Conflict worthy" choices than usual, as mercenaries and rebels are not bounded by the Force. Also, in an all F&D game, "allowing the Force to achieve great things" (by which I essentially just mean - let the results achieved thru the Force be better than the results you might achieve through an analogous, "standard" skill check) is no problem cuz everyone has the Force and everyone needs to be getting tempted by that easy power. But again in a mixed-group you may have to balance spotlight perhaps a little more carefully, although IME (which does also include a couple mixed-group games) the Force still requires tremendous xp investment compared to non, and takes quite a while to "catch up to" and still never really exceeds the capabilities of a non-Force User. They're just different/often spectacular "in the moment" capabilities...

So yea... I look forward to using the Morality mechanics to explore my PCs character development (in the narrative sense).
